RIMMEL LONDON #INSTA MAKEUP

RIMMEL LONDON

NEW RANGE OF #INSTA MAKEUP!

Well, doesn't it seem like Rimmel have gone above and beyond this year with all of the fab new
products? I feel like I own just about every Rimmel London product out there and I use this brand
more than any other, really I do!

I honestly think they are one of the top drugstore makeup brands and have even dedicated one of my
videos showing you my makeup using just their products alone! Check it out here!

When it comes to doing my makeup, I have yet to get it perfect, but I have learned a lot over the
years and one of the most important lessons I now swear by is to get your base right! This begins
with your general health and skincare regime, but then it begins with a good makeup base. Get
that down pat and you'll be looking #Insta selfie flawless in no time!

Now this here is the kind of powder I have been searching for! I wear makeup almost everyday for
work and most of the time it can sit on my face for up to 10+ hours. My face isn't overly oily, but it
certainly isn't dry in the slightest either. By about the middle of the day my face naturally starts to get
that sheen and oil begins to build up on my t-zone.

This powder is sooo good to take with me on long days at work so I can touch up around mid
afternoon when you can really begin to see the shine coming through my makeup, ew! The snap
lock lid makes it really secure in my handbag and I just pack a little mini powder brush with me to
use with it. Works a treat and apparently you can also use this without makeup to soak up any excess
oil throughout the day. Pretty cool I say!

Rimmel London #Insta Conceal & Contour

These three shades from lightest to darkest are named - Highlight Illuminer, Conceal Corriger and
Contour Sculpter. "Conceal" and "Sculpter" yes, however I don't really see the lightest shade doing
much highlighting or illuminating. It is more of a light bronze/contour shade in my opinion. It doesn't
have any shimmer or glow to it at all and appears quite a few shades darker than my natural skin tone
so for me it's more of a shade to sculpt and define my features more than illuminating them.

The middle shade appears more of a skin toned colour as opposed to the first shade on the left which
has more of a bronze tone to it. This middle shade also seems lighter than the first and is very close to
my own skin colour. I have just been using this as an eyeshadow base which works pretty good
actually as I can't seem to use it for anything else.

The darkest shade is where we get to have some fun! It is a great shade for contouring and sculpting.
It similar to the Benefit Hoola in cream form.

Rimmel London #Insta Conceal & Correct

The three shades from this trio from left to right are called - Dark Circles Cernes, Redness Rougeurs
and Dullness Teint Terne. Honestly, I haven't had a a lot of experience playing with correcting
makeup. I am pretty lucky that my skin has been pretty good to me apart from a bit of acne which
seems to have finally settled down over the past few years.

But what do you do when you have something new to try? You give it a good cracker of a go of
course, why not!?

The first shade is a peachy pink which works to conceal dark under eye circles. I don't really get
darkness under my eyes unless I haven't slept at all but after trying this I did see it did brighten up
that area of my face which is a definite plus!

Isn't it weird how a shade to help with redness on the skin is actually green in colour? However
somehow it just works! I don't suffer any redness on my face, BUT I do get the odd red rash on my
neck for some reason for absolutely NO reason at all. The creamy texture of this makes it really easy
to work into my problem areas and conceals the rash instantly, it's really very discreet!

Something I have learned recently with my skin, is that with ageing comes dullness! Boo! My skin
especially gets dull when I am tired, haven't drunk enough water or when I am stressed. These
everyday issues aren't as easy to hide as they once were. Now I just dab a little bit of the violet
shade here and there on my face, usually just on the recommended areas like the middle of the
forehead, lower cheeks and sides of the chin. I use this under my foundation but over my primer.

Rimmel London #Insta Flawless & #Insta Fix & Go

I have already reviewed the #Insta Flawless Skin Perfecter HERE so if you want to learn more you
can check it out there.

I have been using the #Insta Fix & Go 3-in-1 Mist for quite a new months now and am quite
enjoying the experience. The scent with the cucumber extracts makes it smell extremely refreshing
and it is a light natural scent which is great for something you are spraying onto your face! If you
have tried the Rimmel London mascara with the cucumber extracts they released about a year or so
ago then it has the same scent as that!

The spray bottle distributes the formula quite fast and generously so you'll want to hold it a good arm
length away from you face when you spray it so you don't get too wet and ruin your makeup. Doesn't
seem to matter too much for the priming stage however and if I get too much spray I just massage it
into my skin, let it dry and then go ahead applying my makeup. No dramas. It dries quickly too
which is great when you're on a time crunch in the morning! It does a minimal job at minimising my
pores, but does seem to keep my makeup in place throughout the day. I have not used this in the hot
summer months when I am sure to be sweating so I will be interested to see how it holds my
makeup on those kinds of days!

As always you can purchase these products and more from Rimmel from your local Priceline, Target,
Chemist Warehouse, Big W and Woolworths.

BOURJOIS HEALTY MIX

https://www.banggood.com/ECUBEE-Hand-Spinner-Chargeable-Music-LED-Fidget-Spinner-Finger-Focus-Reduce-Stress-Gadget-p-1153218.html

BOURJOIS PARIS

Healthy Mix Foundation & Concealer
(New Formula!)

Review!

I have recently been trying out this foundation and concealer in the Bourjois new and improved "Healthy Mix" anti-fatigue formulation for everyday use for a few months now. I have never used a Bourjois foundation or concealer before however I have heard a lot of hype and positive reviews on the original formula of this foundation over the years so I was very keen to
get starting using this!
I have the foundation shade in number #52-Vanilla which is a pretty good match for my skin tone. I feel like I could maybe go one or even just half a shade darker though because this foundation is quite light on the coverage and this shade is quite light in shade as well. I tend to mix it with one of my other darker foundations in the meantime and it seems to be working well enough. :)
The pump style bottle is one of my favs in terms of foundation bottle designs. It is the easiest and quickest way to use foundation and minimises the mess and excess product wastage as well. The finish has a nice dewy glow without being too shiny and lasts throughout the day really well even though the coverage is on the lighter side.
I am sometimes off at work for up to ten hours a day at the moment and this still looks alright when I get home at night!
If your skin usually gets a bit oily though out the day then I would suggest you might need touching up with some power or blotting papers throughout the day, otherwise you should be alright.
When a foundation does more than just cover my face like this one going the extra mile with it's "mix" of vitamins including C, E and B5 than that's a great bonus and makes me feel good wearing it!
If you're after a light weight everyday foundation in both feeling and coverage that looks youthful, glowy and natural than this one might be for you. In my opinion I think this would make a great first foundation for young girls or for those who like to keep it natural, light and simple for day to day use.

This concealer is also quite light coverage in terms of hiding blemishes and pores. It does highlight well especially under the eyes though and makes a good contouring highlight without the shiny sparkle of some illuminators which when you're going for a fuss free everyday work look you don't really want.
I have this in the shade number #51-Clair Light. This matches well with the foundation above, again perfect for those with very light skin tones. If I purchased this in the future I would go one darker with the foundation, but stay with this concealer shade.
The packaging is simple, clean and easy to use. The formula isn't too thick or runny, but just the right consistency to apply and blend with the doe foot applicator.
Overall I would say this is a good budget friendly, day to day concealer which would be ideal for those with good skin without many flaws as it is too light to cover big blemishes, pores or dark circles. A fair price though and a product which I am happy to continue to use on a day to day basis for work, running errands on the weekends and spending time with the kids.
Together this due is nice and simple. It doesn't appear cakey or heavy and lasts throughout my long days as a working mum.

BULK EMPTIES

MEGA BULK EMPTIES!

So I haven't posted an empties in about a year after being so on point each month
for my first two years of blogging! My apologies! Life just keeps getting busier and busier as my
daughter has began school this year and I have finally gone back to work! Still, blogging is my
passion and I will continue to post as often as I can spare a selfish few minutes and indulge in my
guilty pleasure that is makeup, skincare, fashion, decor and anything within those realms.

So here we are with a bulk lot. It's actually two lots of empties all rolled into one as I took these pix
and then haven't had the chance to blog about them in ages! I also have another bin load of empties
sitting under my bathroom sink ready to be photographed for the next empties post I do! Until then
I will keep on adding to it and hopefully post it up when there is a decent amount of things to talk about!

L'Oreal Paris Preference Blonde Platinum x2
Since going back to blonde from my natural dark brown, I decided to try a few different brands and
products to try and get that lovely white shade like on the box, however as always my hair takes forever
to get to that shade and after using this is turned more of a brassy orange and so toner is my new best
friend!

Papulex Soap Free Cleansing Gel
This stuff I decided to use up as I'd had it in my bathroom stash for a few years and as cleansers go,
even cleansing twice a day takes at least a few months to use up and in between trying a bucket load of
other cleansers this one got shoved to the side and forgotten about. Was a good gel cleanser though and
kept my skin nice and clear.

Oral-B Pro Health Toothpaste
This particular toothpaste has been a favourite of mine for over a year now. It's one I keep going
back to and find myself re-purchasing. It has a good taste and I like the way it feels in my mouth.

Palmolive Shampoo & Conditioner Aloe Vera & Fruit Vitamins (Sachets)
It's always difficult to get a well rounded feel for products when it come to trying out a single
sachet. However these were surprisingly generous and gave me a decent amount for a single hair
wash. They had a nice scent about them and made my hair soft.

Colgate Dental Floss
Whenever I try a new dental floss it's either hit or miss. I find some to be too thick and hard to get
between the gaps and others fray and are of poor quality. This little mini is by far one of the best!
So easy to use and cut off the amount you need for each use. It doesn't hurt or cause tension, it
just does the job right and it a good handbag or travel size.

Hi Lift Powder Bleach For Hair
Since lightening my hair again I have been touching up my roots a lot at home with this stuff. This
product is very familiar to me as I used to use it years ago in my early 20's when I first began
bleaching my hair. It is brilliantly strong a lightening my super dark hair. Love it!

Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation (Sample)
Rimmel do fantastic foundations for such an affordable price. I love their formulas and this one is no
exception! This sample was my first taste of the Match Perfection formula and since I accumulated
all these empties up over quite a period of time, I have since finished up two full sized bottles of this
stuff! Highly recommend!

Real-U Lite Moisturiser
Moisturising is something I always
do and this winter has been
especially harsh on my skin. This
moisturiser is so light weight feeling
and really feels as though it soaks in
deeply leaving my skin lovely and
soft.

Good Things Manuka Honey
I love honey in beauty products! The
scent is always so delicious and
calming. Manuka honey is also
delicious to eat and much richer in
colour and taste than regular honey.
This moisturiser is just gorgeous, I
loved it!

Heathcote & Ivory Bath & Body Body Butter
This was a little tub of moisturiser I received in a gift pack at Christmas. It was alright, to be honest,
there wasn't a lot inside the tub and there wasn't really much of a scent at all. Oh well.

Hi Lift Blonde Highlighter Powder Bleach For Hair
This is the same as mentioned above, just in a single use sachet packet. Must've bought this when
I was too poor to buy a big tub. haha!

Nuxe Reve de Miel Ultra Comfortable Body Cream
I have used a few Nuxe products before and am liking them the more I use them. This was a lovely
product to use, especially on these cold winter night when I can actually see the scales on my dry
skin. Especially on my legs and the tops of my feet! >_< This sure fixed that!

Dr. Hauschka Rose Nurturing Body Cream
Another brand which is a joy to use. Anything with Rose in it I am going to love. This body cream
didn't last long enough for me in this tiny sachet unfortunately. I like to moisturise head to toe and
this only got as far as my legs. Felt really nice though and didn't feel greasy or slimy like some body
creams tend to do.

V 10 Plus LX Advanced Lifting Cream Treatment
I can't honestly say I saw any difference after using this product. But it seemed nice enough. When
it comes to anti-ageing I'll try just about anything and cross my fingers it's doing something for me.
It can't hurt to try right? Let me know if you've tried this and if it's worth me purchasing it full size
as this is quite a pricey little brand so it had want to be amazing!

Elegant Touch French Manicure #102
I purchased these to treat myself a while ago.
I don't often get my nails done or even have
time to paint them these days honestly. I
bought these because I wanted my nails to
like nice and polished without chipping or
looking messy after a day or two. These
were just your regular french mani. Classic
and easy. I loved them!

Woolworths Select Acetone-Free Nail Polish Remover
Nothing fancy here. Cheap and gets the job
done without fuss. No issues with this at all.
Have re-purchased many times.

Dove Beauty Cream Bar x 2
Used this a billion times before and will continue to do so. Dove is so well known with a great
reputation for it's hydration and creamy quality. It's like a soap and moisturiser in one. Almost.
I do still moisturiser afterwards, however if you're someone who isn't into lathering up on the cream
but don't like having dry skin, then switching over to a moisturising soap like this one would be a
great idea!

Palmolive Foaming Fig & Coconut Hand Wash
What an inspiring and unique scent this one was! I have never smelt fig and coconut together before
and let me tell you it is good! The sweet fig is mellowed out slightly with the cream coconut and
together they just seem to balance each other out really well! So foamy and fresh, I loved this!

MOR Pepperberry & Pomegranate Hand & Body Wash
I loved the skinny pump on this bottle as it made me use less each time and in turn made it last
much longer. This was a delicious yummy scent, sweet and a little zesty at the same time. MOR is
such a beautiful brand and their packaging always adds a touch of elegance and luxe to my bathroom.

Lush FUN Monsters & Aliens
This only lasted about a week! I got this for my toddlers to use in the bath for something new and fun
and they LOVED it! They loved the bright colours, the pretty smell of it and how it made colourful
suds when they washed themselves with it. It was also great to play with moulding into endless
shapes and things. Highly recommended if you have kids to bath. It'll keep them from getting bored
and fighting with each other, at least for a few minutes!

Puretopia Gentle Exfoliating Face Scrub
Loved this scrub. You can read my full review on it here. Not too harsh or gentle, kept my skin clear
and looking and feeling fresh. Such a lovely brand I recommend checking out if you get the chance.

Clearasil Vitamins & Extracts Scrub
Have also fully reviewed this product over here. This scrub is amazing, honestly I really loved this
and it lasted ages! (This was also my second tube!) Great at keeping zits under control and smelt
yum!

I purchased this glue in a rush one day as I realised annoyingly that my regular lash glue, (You know
the teeny tiny bottle you get in the box with your falsies?) had completely dried up before I'd even
ever opened or used it! Figured there had to be something bigger and better I could use, and found
this one for a reasonable price compared to the others around it on the shelf. Works pretty well, no
complaints, gets the job done and that's all I really care about at the end of the day.

This spot treatment reminded me as being really similar to the Garnier one which I have used and
loved for years! This lasted me forever because you seriously only need to use the tiniest amount
to cover your spot and it also tightens your pores! When I felt like my skin was looking a bit yuk and
my pores were too big I would apply a thin layer of this all over my face and sleep with it on over
night as you would with a night serum. Upon waking up in the morning my zits were almost gone
and my pores were definitely smaller!

Pantene Pro-V Smooth & Sleek Leave in Hair Moisturiser
This is one of those products I found in the back of my cupboard when I was packing to move back
late last year! God knows how long it was hiding away there but I have since made sure to use it up
quickly! It was ok, not anything major to rave about. But I always put some kind of hair treatment
in at least weekly so I'm not too fussed about the brand or anything. I just use anything and hope for
the best! Had a pretty smell though.

Speaking of scents, now this shampoo is delicious and smells just like green apple! I actually really
liked this shampoo, it's just a shame I am not a fan of the pretty basic boring packaging. The hubby is
more inclined to use this brand than me as it also helps with his flakey, dry scalp.

RIMMEL LONDON

RIMMEL LONDON

NEW!
Wake Me Up Foundation & Concealer!

Let's be honest, putting on my makeup each morning is one of the highlights of my busy day. It's a
few minutes each day where it's all about me. I like to take this time to relax and enjoy the process of
pampering, thinking about the day ahead, getting my thoughts together as I wake up. It's really quite
therapeutic for me.

Rimmel London's classic Wake Me Up foundation has recently undergone a makeover and I have
found myself reaching for it over all of my other foundations every single day over the past month
or so that I have just about finished them up!

Rimmel London Wake Me Up Foundation - Fine shimmer particles visible through the bottle!
(Purrdy!)

I will begin with the foundation which contains Vitamin C, SPF 20 as well as some hella beautiful
radiance pearls mixed inside it! It comes in six shade varieties - (Ivory, True Ivory, Soft Beige,
Classic Beige, True Nude and Natural Beige), an easy to use pump style clear glass bottle and
promises a radiant glow to the skin making it appear more awake and anti-fatigued.

The formula is a good consistency being not too thick now runny. It just sits on the back of my hand
when I pump it out and doesn't drip or begin running down my arm before I can get a makeup brush
onto it! It blends easily and smooth on my skin. It covers my pores, however not my larger ones and
you can still see a little acne scaring after application. So I would say this foundation gives about a
medium coverage. It does look super flattering, natural and dewy though and does an impressive job
at lasting all day! Honestly, this is one of the best foundations I have found in terms of being long
lasting. It stays put amazingly well even on my longer 7am-5pm work days.

Rimmel London Wake Me up Foundation & Concealer Swatched!
(Left - Concealer / Right - Foundation)

The contrast between the swatches of the above foundation and concealer is appearing much more
dramatic than it actually is in real life. My skin is not fair, but still quite light. What you can see in
the image with the shimmer in it is much more it's true to life shade. But anyway, let's get talking
about the new Wake Me Up Concealer!

Available in just three shades - Ivory, Classic Beige and Soft Beige. I would like to see a wider
variety of shades available, however the lightest Ivory shade does get the job done for me.

The consistency is only just slightly thicker than the foundation and conceals any redness, veins,
small blemishes and pores well. It is smooth and blends with ease. I have enjoyed using this duo
together as they seem to compliment each other well with their fatigue concealing and illuminating
glow particles.

You can find Rimmel London's new Wake Me Up Foundation & Concealer and the rest of the
Rimmel range from your local Priceline, Chemist Warehouse, Big W, Coles, Target and
Woolworths.

PLATINUM MAKEUP BRUSHES

INTRODUCING...

NEW!

- PLATINUM MAKEUP BRUSHES -

http://www.platinumbeauty.com.au

So you probably own at least one set of makeup brushes. You have your favourites, you know those
3 or 4 you reach for every single time you put on your makeup? How great are the quality of your
brushes though? Could be better? Softer? Less hairs falling out of them? I know personally for me
that stray hair which falls out of my blush brush every! single! day! I could definitely live without!

Using a fresh, clean, brand new makeup brush is always a nice feeling and if you're after that kind of
satisfaction in your daily makeup routine at the moment, then let me temp you with these modern,
gun metal grey, shiny new, sooooft good quality brushes, available ever so conveniently as you do
you grocery shop at where else but your local Woolies!

There are 5 of these beauties in the Platinum collection and each with it's own essential role to play.
Let me run you through each of the 4 which I have been using in my collection over the past few
months.

Contour Eye Brush
This tapered brush is perfect for creating definition and shadows to your eye's crease. Blend your
shadow into this area and blend with these super smooth, soft hairs. Within a few strokes I have
found my shadow to blend effortlessly, even when I use my cheaper branded makeup!
RRP $10.00

Eye Shadow Brush
Aside from the Blush Brush (which I will talk about soon!) this Eye Shadow Brush is my most used
brush! If your budget is tight, then you could probably get away with skipping on the Contour Eye
Brush and just using this one to complete your all over eye look. I still prefer to use both of these for
creating a more defined eye and precise definition, however this brush with a little practice can do it
all.

The hairs on this brush are slightly shorter and the shape is more rounded. This makes it easy to pack
on your desired shadow shade all over the base of your lid. Then using your Contour Eye Brush (or
this one if you brush off the excess shadow shade before changing colours for contouring) blending in
your usual slightly darker shade into the crease and then highlighting along the brow bone, inner
corner of the eye and where ever else you feel helps you eyes to really pop and look larger and more
awake. RRP $10.00

Base Blending Brush
We all have our own preference when it comes to how we choose to apply foundation. For years I
just found it so much quicker and easier to just use my (clean!) fingers. This method works amazingly
well because there is no chance of leaving behind brush strokes and everything is blended and spread
out well and evenly from the warmth in my fingers. I do still use this method on occasion, however
since discovering the magic of the trusty makeup sponge, I pretty much apply my liquid this way.

So how does this Base Blending Brush come into it? Well generally I will use this brush with my
loose powder to set my liquid foundation as it seems to blend the powder out all over my face instead
of it just sitting where it lands so to speak. However this brush is also designed to use with liquid
foundation to blend everything out nice and smoothly and gives quite a flawless finish in the few
times I have given this method a try. RRP $15.00

Blush Brush
This brush is super light and nicely fluffy and just perfect for applying blush! The hairs on this brush
seem to just pick up the right amount of product to apply to the apples of my cheeks which I then
sweet slightly upwards towards my cheekbones. Then naturally following up with a little bit of
highlight. Everyone loves highlight right now! Including me, obvs! RRP $19.00

- - -

The 5th brush in this collection which I haven't yet had the chance to try is the Platinum Power
Brush. As the name suggests, this is to use to apply your powder foundation, setting powder and
banana powder, etc! RRP $20.00

Platinum Makeup Brushes are available exclusively at selected Woolworths stores Australia wide.

How do you apply foundation? Brush, sponge, fingers or another method?

NEW RIMMEL

NEW YEAR
NEW! - RIMMEL LONDON MAKEUP!

Far out, February already? Can you believe it! My daughter started prep this year hence my blog
being a little quiet during January. It has been a busy, emotional and exciting time for us all!

Hang on a tic, February, the month of luuuurve! I just love all the fun lovey dovey products which
jump out at you vying for your attention this time of the year. Even if you're single I personally
would make this time all about myself. Self love and appreciation for all that you are. There are lots
of ways to celebrate love, not just in the boyfriend/girlfriend kinda way.

So stay tuned this month for some fun Valentine's Day themed articles and piccies! Time to get
flat lay love creative, goody goody!

In the meantime if you want some Valentine's Day hair inspiration you can watch a few videos I
made last year HERE and HERE and HERE!

- - -
---

Now let's get onto some fun new Rimmel London products! I cannot wait to see what else this brand
comes up with this year. Last year was amazing in terms of product releases. There were so many
and many the suit all ages and makeup preferences. I really love Rimmel because they are not only
highly desirably priced, their quality of products are also up there. Such great value!

Fresher Skin Foundation - #102 Light Nude
Rimmel London foundations in general are great for everyday wear if you are wanting a light to
medium coverage which doesn't look of feel as if it's caked on. This new release is the same. Light to
medium in coverage, a dewy finish (I assume from th SPF 15) and a fantastic shade selection to
choose from. (x6 in this case).

This foundation comes in a glass tub with screw top lid which you can apply with a foundation
brush, clean fingers or sponge. The formula can look a little oily in there, so I like to give mine a
bit of a mix with my brush before using it.

It does last pretty much all day with just a powder touch up required on these super stinking hot days
we've been having lately. I like how light if feels on my skin and how natural it looks. Kinda like that
naked skin look.

Magnif'Eyes Eye Contouring Palette - Grunge Glamour
I am beginning to hoard quite a little collection of these kinds of eyeshadow palettes without quite
realising it until now. Thinking about it, it really isn't that hard to figure out the reasons why. Just look
at these gorgeous velvety shades! Ahh I cannot get enough of how smooth and easy to wear they are.

If you have seen, used or own the Urban Decay Naked Smoked eyeshadow palette then you can
pretty much see why I call this my smaller dupe version of that. These shades take you safely from
day all the way to midnight with those vampy daring shimmering dark colours toward the right end
of the palette.

The first four shades are much more subtle and make great brow highlights and neutral bases or for
a natural barely there day time makeup look.

These swatches below are shown when applied with a wet brush which really bring out their
pigmentation and drama. I would recommend applying with a good shadow primer or white cream
base to bring out the most of these if applying dry.

What kind of makeup you do find yourself a collector of?
