EMPTIES

~  FEBRUARY EMPTIES  ~

-
WATCH/LIKE/SUBSCRIBE!

I usually tend to think of months with some kind of theme. With December being all about
Christmas and January the new year & my birthday. February all me thinking all about hearts,
red roses, romantic dinners and of course LOVE! :)

So let's see how many empties I managed to work my way through in this romantic month!

Let's make it easy and go from the largest packaging to the smallest...

Schick Intuition Pure Nourishment Razor w/ Coconut Milk & Almond Oil
I have said it before and I'll keep on saying it, this is the best razor out there in my opinion!
I have tried a gazillion different kinds and this is by far the most unique and kindest to my skin
which is prone to itching after shaving. I love that I can use this without having to dig around to
find shaving gel too! (Review!)

TRESemme' Platinum Strength Deep Conditioning Treatment
Pretty nice stuff. Has taken my ages to finally get through it. But that can be a good thing!
Would buy again once I am through with all the others I have to use first. :) (Review!)

Avon Naturals Milk & Honey Nourishing Body Lotion
You know how I love my body lotions and lather them all over my body on a daily basis. Well this
one was in one of my most favourite scents - Milk & Honey! I LOVE it! The scent wasn't overly
powerful though, which in this case I would have preferred. Some products need to tone down their
overpowering scents, but this kind of scent can never get too much for me. It is just so delicious!

I have mentioned this product previously in another article here where I talk about the benefits this
product can have if you suffer from super dry skin. My skin isn't prone to dryness, however this was
still nice to use. It came in my Blogstar prize pack a few years ago, so it needed to be finished up, so I
just used it anyway. Did a good job, I enjoyed it especially on my feet which do get the driest.

Coast To Coast Ultra Gentle Facial Polish w/ Wild Rosella & Oatmeal
I would classify this as quite a gentle exfoliant. Great for sensitive skin types. My skin is normal and
prone to breaking out every now and then and I was actually surprised at how well it kept the pesky
spots at bay. Lasted me ages and every now and then I would also use it to give my legs and feet a
gentle scrub. (Review!)

Dettol Soft On Skin Hand Wash in Vanilla & Coconut
Such an awesome household staple to have all over the house, especially with little ones running
around. I love these because this refill is used in an automatic battery operated dispenser which means
the no touch sensor senses when you hand is placed under it and squirts out just the right amount of
soap per wash, leaving little room for germs to spread! Also smells SO YUM!

Paleo Skincare Spearmint Tallow Bodywash
Received this sample in my recent Native Box which I have reviewed here. Make sure you check
that out for a mini demo so you can see how it works! :)
This brand is new to me and I did enjoy using this. The scent was nice and not too ott. It lathered up
pretty well and made me feel refreshed and smelling minty for the day!

Avon Shine On Shimmering Lip Gloss is Frost
I am sure that I am not the only one trying to down size their lip gloss/balm stash?
How do so many accumulate so quickly? I must have about 50 and have no clue how I am going to
get through them all in this life time, but hey I can try! Recently threw away a heap which felt so
relieving! Anyway - The gloss is so cute and shimmery, I really actually enjoyed it. Occasionally
doubled up using a tiny bit as a bit of a cheek high lighter.

Lancome Juicy Lip Gloss
Unfortunately this gloss seemed to separate in the tube. :( Half of the product was a beautiful grape
shade with a hint of shimmer throughout and the other was just clear, sticky goo. Was not impressed
considering this is probably one of the most expensive lip glosses I have ever invested in. I expect
more from such a higher ended brand.

And we're done! How are you going with your empties so far for 2016?

JANUARY EMPTIES

January Empties!

Previous Months - January / February / March / April / May / June / July / August / September / October / November / December

So here we are, another year gone & the first month already done & dusted!
Can you believe it? Let's take a look into my binned things for January...

~ HAIR ~

Puretopia Moisture Repair Nourishing & Strengthening Shampoo
This was a refreshing change to my regular hair care products. Highly recommend this one.
Full review can be found here. :)

VO5 Anti Frizz Leave-in Conditioner
This was alright. Tamed my frizzy hair a little bit. Don't think you can still get this anymore?
Had this product sitting around for ages!

VO5 Silky Smooth Silk Serum
Same with this product. Had it for forever and FINALLY used it all up. Note to self - Serums take
a long time to use, so don't go buying so many you dork!!!

~ BODY ~

Colgate Max White One Mouth Wash
Super, amazing, great, loved it! I have been using heaps of teeth whitening products this past
year and finally, I think my teeth are a little bit whiter. I have products like this one to thanks for that!

Palmolive Foaming Nourishing Hand Wash in Raspberry
Will never stop buying this! Smells gorgeous and foams up straight out of the pump which the kids
love!

Vagisil pH Plus Intimate Wash
Thank you to the lovely Livia from her blog for this as I won it from her giveaway a little while ago.
I just used this as an all over body wash. It also makes great bubbles in the bath! :)

~ SAMPLES ~

PureTan Pure Bronze Dark Tanning
This was way too dark for my skin, however I still really enjoyed using it and the formula was good.
I have been tanning heaps lately so it was nice to try something new. Thanks to BH for including this

Carol's Beauty Sun Tanning Enhancer Lotion
This is quite an oily formula, however really nice to use. I have been using this along with this
Carol's Beauty Tan Enhancing Oil in my everyday tanning routine to help prolong my fake tan.
It is also super moisturising!

Carol's Beauty Sun Tanning Enhancer Oil
Again, really enjoyed using this over my fake baked skin. There are just the small bottles, there are
also full size ones available which I have reviewed here. :)

Vagisil Fresh Plus Intimate Wash
Another sample of the Vagisil, I cannot recall exactly where it came from, however I am thinking it
may have been from a recent Elle or Cosmo mag? hmm..

Schick Hydro Silk Razor Re-Fill
This is an old favourite which I have been using for years. Does a great job, however isn't my
absolute fav. That crown goes to the Schick Intuition, hands down!

Arbonne Skincare Samples
Dug these out of my Doll Connection blog event goodie bag recently and decided to see how they'd
go. Pretty nice products actually, although a bit on the pricer side.

Watch! - January Empties!

BEAUTORIUM

~  Beautorium  ~

Beautyheaven Rewards

(December 2015!)

http://www.beautyheaven.com.au

One of those little things which make your day just that little bit better and more exciting than bills
arriving in the mail is when Beautyheaven open their (virtual) doors to their online shopping event
that is Beautorium. Where loyal members (such as moi) can redeem their points accumulated
from participation on the site for beauty products available in the 'shop'! Hooray!

As usual I have absolutely NO self control (I did try, really I did!) and spent all of my points.
Yep my balance is back to literally zero! Time to get busy again with reviews, comments and
referrals for the next event rumoured to be held in April 2016. Too exciting! :)

Enough babble, onto the items I spent all my points on...

If you know me than you know I am Kora obsessed! I love the range of certified organic products
and ingredients. They feel so nice on the skin. I am so happy to have been able to pick up this
body wash for 750 points. It is a good 150ml and retails for $37.50. On the pricier side for a body
wash so very happy to have picked it up for free! There were also a few other Kora products in
the shop, however I didn't have enough points to splurge on them all. Hopefully they will still be
available in April. This one has been added to my Kora collection of Day & Night Cream &

MOR Pepperberry & Cardamon Hand & Body Wash
Ah MOR is such a luxury brand to me. I have always found their products to be ultra rich and
always smell ah-mazing! This one is no exception with the blend of Pepperberry and Cardamon
smelling very sweet and like black berries! Reminds me a little of Lush Snow Fairy. :)
On the steep side at 500 points, however quite a large 350ml which should last a while.

Schick Intuition Coconut Milk & Almond Oil Razor
This product is no stranger to me having first used it in a trial for Beautyheaven and then continuing
to stock up on it in a past few Beautoirums. This is my all time favourite razor! The smell is so
yummy and creamy as it the formulation of the moisture block which makes shaving so smooth and
gentle and easy! I just love it! This cost me 260 points. (Review!)

T.B.N. Nail Colour in Little Miss Mila & In The Nude
There where quite a few other shades to choose from in the shop but I ended up settling on one of
my fav classic hot barbie pinks and a nude as I am slowing creeping into liking that kind of neutral
hue. Only 50 points each, a complete steal and I cannot wait to paint with these!

Romantic Colour Eyeshadow Palette by T.B.N.
I almost didn't get this last product, however I spent all of my points on the very last day of
Beautorium and thought what the hell why not? At only 100 points I couldn't resist. There was also
another colour variation available which were all black/greys which I feel would be a little too
dramatic for me so I decided to go with these gorgeous soft pinks, burgundy, charcoal and white
highlight. I have not tried any products from TBN before so I cannot wait! So much fun to be had I
am sure!

Bonus FREE Samples!
If you are a regular BH member or Beautoirum alumni then you would be well aware Beautyheaven
always throw in a few free samples with your order and this time around these are the ones which
came in my haul. So very happy with them and of course super excited to try some newbies! Woo!

Watch my Beautorium Haul here! :)

JUNE EMPTIES

~   JUNE EMPTIES   ~

It's that time of the month again! Empties time! That satisfying feeling when you get to throw away
your month's worth of beauty trash and start again for the following month, hopefully popping open
some newbies and finishing off some more not so newies along the way!

This past months stash of empties is definitely significantly smaller than my last few.
I am pretty sure I have finished off just about all of my 'almost empty' products and am now working
through those larger full size bottles which are going to take me some time to get through.
All good fun though! :)

I still feel like I worked through quite a bit this month so let sort through the mess!

Dental/Body Care
Colgate Optic White Express White Toothpaste (Full Size)
I am pretty sure I also used up one of these last month. We somehow managed to have two open at
the same time and this is the second tube used up. Hubby and I share our toothpaste and I guess
together we get through a lot of it! :D
Clever White Dissolving Whitening Strips x2 (Full Size)
I somehow only manage to get through one set of these per month. I just honestly can't get into them.
I really want whiter teeth, but these just feel icky. I don't like them. They say you can just put them
on and go about your day, but I find it works better for me to put them on and then shower so
as they start to get gluggy in my mouth I can just brush my teeth and spit the rest out. I
don't know how they expect you to just go about your day and swallow as they dissolve. Ew!
Schick Intuition Disposible Razor Refil Blade (Full Size) (Review!)
Have been using this razor blade for ages now and still love it. This is my most favourite razor
and highly recommend trying it! The moisture block is genious!

Facial Cleansing & Care
Avon Clear Skin Blemish Clearing Foaming Cleanser (Full Size)
I have lost count of how many bottles of this I have used and I still have a few back ups!
It works so well though. I never have a single zit if I use this twice a day. Highly recommended if
you suffer from acne. It's really cheap too, only a few bucks. My mum keeps sending it to me at xmas...
Lab Series Multi-Action Face Wash (Sample)
A random sample I found amongst my husbands stash of products he will never use, so I took it
upon myself to get rid of it and make some space. From memory as I finished this up really early in
the month, I think it was actually a scrub and worked quite well. I love scrubs and this one had that
potent man smell to it. Definitely a man product!
Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula Multi-Effect Perfecting Facial Oil (Sample)
This product reminds me a bit of Bio Oil. It does pretty much the same thing. I used it on my face as
well as my stomach where I will give anything a go to aid in my stretch marks in that area. It was
really nice actually and I will be looking into purchasing the full size version.

Hair Care
Goldwell Kerasilk Ultra Rich Shampoo (Sample)
Goldwell Kerasilk Ultra Rich Conditioner (Sample)
I somehow ended up with another set of these bottles as I have previously used sample sizes of these
shampoo & conditioner before. They are quite nice. Nothing stood out about them though.
Al'chemy' Lavender & Anthyliss Leave In Conditioner (Sample)
Beautiful product and brand. Use sparingly because that is all your hair will need. It is highly
moisturising and if you use too much your hair will feel greasy and dirty. This sample lasted me a
good 4 washes!
Aveda Damage Remedy Intensive Restructuring Treatment (Sample)
This came in my recent limited edition Bellabox. (Blog post here or you can watch my unboxing
video here.) This is not the first time I have recieved this sample and it is quite nice. A much
needed treat for my slightly stressed out hair.

Body/Facial Moisturisers
Elizabeth Arden Pretty Body Lotion (Full Size)
Smells divine! I have the matching perfume as well which is equally lovely.
Paris Hilton CanCan Body Lotion (Full Size)
Smells really nice. I probably wouldn't purchase again just because there are so many other options
out there and I don't think I will live long enough to try them all.
SugarBaby Frangipani Deluxe Hand Creme (Full Size)
This was one of my most favourite hand cremes. The packaging first of all is so bright and happy!
It also smells delicious and it's just a really cute product and made my hands feel nice. :)
Kosmea Certified Organic Rose Hip Oil (Sample)
Recently sent this by Beautyheaven in a sample pack I won. (Full review of what I got here.)
And I adore this Rose Hip Oil. It is probably the best one I have tried in terms of quick results.
Highly recommend trying if you have stretch marks or scaring.
Dr.LeWinns Day Cream Moisturiser (Sample)
This was also in my Beautyheaven sample pack. Have tried this previously and really enjoyed it.
A nice thick cream, but not too thick and isn't at all greasy. It's like non greasy butter. Feels like
heaven on the skin.

Make-Up
L'Oreal Paris True Match Foundation in Golden Beige (Sample)
Loved this! On my list to purchase once I finished up my 5,000 other bottles of foundation.... or sooner. ;)
I actually really love this primer now. If you watch my review (linked above) you will see me talking
about how I didn't like it. That was me after only using it a short time. Now that I have been using
this for years, I have grown to really love it! Worked brilliantly!

 Overview!
Monthly Tally = x6 Full Size & x12 Samples
Yearly Tally = x73 Full Size & x114 Samples

The Mess = Buh-Bye! :)
Can't wait to try lots of new stuff in July!

How much beauty trash did you get through this month?

MAY EMPTIES

Another month of conciously trying to downside and de-clutter a bunch of my old beauty items.
I tend to try to use up samples and small bottles and tubes first to get them out of the way, try
something new that could potentially become a new fav and then move on beginning with oldest to
newest.

As you can see from the picture below, I have pretty much used up all of my sample items and little
sachets so I am very excited to be moving onto some full size bottles and newbies!

A lot of these items used up this month have been laying around my bathroom for way too long and
didn't have much left in them so they were easy to quickly finish and have made precious space for
the new items I have aquired over the past 30 or so days. :)

Here is an overview...

HAIR CARE -
SunIn Super Hair Lightener (Full Size)
Fudge Dynamite Deep Conditioning Repair Treatment (Full Size)
Romy Eucalyptus & Lemongrass Shampoo (Sample)
Romy Eucalyptus & Lemongrass Conditioner (Sample)

TEETH/ORAL CARE -
Colgate Optic White Express White (Full Size)
Oral-B Pro Health Clean Mint (Full Size)

BODY LOTION/MOISTURISER -
Anna Sui Secret Wish Body Lotion (Full Size)
(oops accidently put the Anna Sui shower gel in this pic. Should be below with the body washes/cleansers! See below.)
Romy Eucalyptus & Lemongrass Body Lotion (Sample)

BODY WASHES/CLEANSERS -
Anna Sui Secret Wish Shower Gel (Full Size)
Nivea Men Clear Effect Volcanic Mud Foam Face Wash (Sample)
Romy Eucalyptus & Lemongrass Bath/Shower Gel (Sample)

HAIR REMOVAL -
Schick Intuition Pure Nourishment Replaceable Blade (Full Size) (Review!)

MAKE-UP -
Maeve Lustre Lip Balm in Coral (Full Size)

So to sum things up, my empties tally now stands at 67 full size and 102 samples for the year
so far! Woozas, do I love samples much? Yes, yes I do! :)

How did you go with your empties for the month of May?

TANNING ROUTINE

~ Tanning Through The Seasons ~

My DIY Self Tanning Routine!

Transitioning From Summer Through Winter!

Self tanning can be a tricky thing. A skill many of us let a professional take control of
for us. There are so many things that can go wrong. Too light, too dark, too orange, streaky,
un-even, leaving marks all over your car seats, coach, bed sheets, etc and that off putting fake
tan smell. The whole point of a fake tan, is to get that golden looking glow without risking your
health by going the natural or solarium route. At the end of the day, we all want our tan to look
natural and flawless.

However, DIY-ing isn't as hard or scary as it sounds. It's just like experimenting with makeup
and figuring out what works, what doesn't and making mistakes and learning from them.

Using good quality products definitiely helps, and with the right tools and techniques you can
have north coast, holiday, 'I've just spend my whole life at the beach' looking skin in no time
and for a fraction of the salon price!

It's really easy once you get the hang of it and once it becomes routine you will wonder why you
ever got almost naked for a complete stranger in an awkward paper G-string in the first place!

Below I will share with you the products currently in my self tanning routine I am using
to get flawless, glowing, tanned skin year round with some hints and tips along the way!

Schick
Intuition Pure Nourishment Razor
For All Skin Types!
RRP: $12.69
Review (Buy!)
I feel like this first step goes pretty much without me having to say it.
If you don't wax, then shave your legs before you tan! If you wait until afterwards, you'll
ruin all of your hard work and shave the tan away... Nobody wants to see hairy legs, so if
you're going to flaunt it, make it count!
-------------------------------------------------

St.Tropez
Body Polish
For All Skin Types!
RRP: $19.95
Review (Buy!)
There is nothing more I love than a good all over body scrub and this one is particually
suited to help maintain and prep your skin for tanning. The circular beads are not to harsh
or scratchy and therefore making sure your tan applies and eventually fades away
smooth and even.
-------------------------------------------------

Jergens
Daily Moisture
For Dry Skin!
RRP: $5.99
Review (Buy!)
I feel like this is a step a lot of people skip when self tanning. Moisturising is so
important for our skin, not only to keep it looking fresh, soft and youthful. It also provies
a smooth and even base for your tan to stick to, giving you the most flawless, streak free
glow you absolutely want!
-------------------------------------------------

Paula's Choice
Sun 365 Self-Tanning Foam
For All Skin Types!
RRP: $16.80
(Buy!)
My current self tanner of choice is this one by Paula's Choice, for a number of reasons.
The main reason is because it is buildable and creates the most natural results!
Just one application gives you a subtle glow. Apply 5-10 and your a super bronzed,
sun kissed looking goddess! Not dodgy tanning smell as it is scent free.
No messy tanning stains all over my bathroom as the formula simply pumps out into my
hand light as a feather for controlled application.
