THOMAS FARMS KITCHEN

THOMAS FARMS KITCHEN

Meal Delivery

Review!

http://www.thomasfarmskitchen.com.au
December is the busiest, craziest and the most stressful time of the year. With the stresses of work
deadlines coming to a head, kids finishing school, friends and family coming to stay and Christmas
shopping often left to the very last minute. It's no wonder we all seem to pack on the kg's with quick
take away and unhealthy meal options just to get us through.

Here's an idea! Order yourself and your family fresh, healthy, easy and quick to prepare meals from
Thomas Farms Kitchen delivered straight to your door so you don't have to navigate your trolley
through the busy supermarket isles or wait in line to scan and pay!

You meal delivery comes delivered to your door in a poly styrene box sealed fresh for up to 8 hours
before needing to be refrigerated as frozen ice packs are also included just in case you aren't home
when your delivery arrives.

Fresh locally sourced ingredients come all measured out, labeled and ready to use for each meal!
(FYI - Below are the ingredients I received for 12 meals.)

Thomas Farms Kitchen offer super affordable meal plans. You pick what you like to eat and all of the
ingredients get measured out for you and delivered fresh and ready to cook all in about 15-20mins!

For a non cook like me, even I can follow the easy to follow, simple cooking instruction guide
included with each meal. Got me feeling like a Masterchef in no time!
(Just see my fancy plating in the images to follow down the page!)

I received three of each of the following meals below.

Family Pleaser Chicken Salad w/Chinese Sesame Dressing!
This dairy free option was great for me because lately I have been getting really bad stomach
cramping whenever I consume milk. I have also put on about 7 or 8 kg's over the past few months
which I am desperately trying to shift! I am not sure why this has happened, I do have thyroid issues
so that may have something to do with it and I am due to get my levels tested again, so I really must
do that soon since the sudden shift in my weight might have something to do with it.

Anyway - This meal was SO yum! Probably my second favourite with the salmon below coming in
first by just a smidge! The chicken provided was already sliced into strips which I was stoked about
because one of the worst parts about cooking apart from crying from slicing onions in my opinion is
slicing up raw meat. Makes my stomach churn! This was great as all the fat had been removed and all
I had to do was throw it into the fry pan. Nothing raw touched my hands. Phew!

With only 19.3g of fat per serving I felt good cleaning up this plate down to the last drop of delicious
mouth watering dressing!

Succulent Salmon w/Cucumber, Dill & Yoghurt Dressing!
Salmon is my favourite seafood and really with my short term memory being so embarrassingly
terrible, I don't know why I don't eat more of this mega brain food! This portion size was perfect for
me. I don't like to eat overly huge meals at a time and I loved having the crispy skinned salmon
along side with a cool fresh salad.

This was my favourite meal from the 3 I tried and highly recommend it if you decided to give
Thomas Farms a go. So far I have enjoyed this as both a lunch and dinner meal option and it's just really great well balanced light food which is also gluten free for those who are wondering if there
are specific meal options available for you, there are quite a few - including vegetarian!

With the fat content of this meal being just 16.5g per serve, it gives me another reason to call it my
fav! It's just YUM and literally took me only about 10 minutes to throw it all together.

Lovely Lamb Kebabs w/Tomato, Cucumber & Chickpea Salad!
I am not a huge fan of red meats and I rarely ever eat lamb. It gives me the major guilts when I think
of eating a baby animal, however this was super lean and tasty! It wasn't until my cheeky hubster just
had to mention it as I was munching away just to tease me, it hadn't even crossed my mind.
(Don't worry I got him back for that!)

I don't particularly like chickpeas, but honestly when you mix it in with the goats fetta, tomato, red
onion and cucumber it tastes oh so much better! The seasoning on the lamb has about a million
different succulent flavours mixed all together which creates the most amazing party in your mouth
I would totally recommend getting this dish to try for your family if you happily eat meat!

This meal's fat content in case you were wondering sits at 21.4g per serve. Higher than the other two,
but still quite low for a hearty meal.

Thomas Farms Kitchen offers meal options for vegetarians as well as those who are gluten intolerant. Choose a plan for just yourself, if you're a couple or family. They make the whole ordering
process to simple, easy and fun! Choose exactly what you want and see how the meal looks once prepared with the meal images on their website.

With locally Aussie sourced, fresh ingredients you know you're doing your part in supporting our
local farmers, eating the best you can for you and your family and therefore living a healthier more energetic lifestyle!

SCHKINNY MANINNY

~  SCHKINNY MANINNY ~
3 DAY JUICE CLEANSE

I like to think of myself as a pretty healthy kind of person. I don't smoke, drink any alcohol, do drugs
or sun bake. I look after my skin, keep active and eat in moderation. However there is always room
for improvement. I am not perfect. I do have a sweet tooth (or salty depending on my mood) tooth
that can get me into trouble every now and again which has me ending up feeling guilty, sluggish and
yuk in the stomach.

So when I had the opportunity recently to try a 3 Day Juice Cleanse from Schkinny Maninny how
could I not think this would be a great idea to help clean out my system!

INCLUDED IN MY 3 DAY DETOX PACK!
Schkinny Maninny are great in that they realise a detox is not always an easy feat, especially for
beginners like myself and offer some extra goodies on the first day to last you throughout your
journey. These do often change so you if you are curious you can find out what's on offer on their
website. My pack included - A tub of detoxing bath salts, Vigour Skin Therapy Revive Treatment
Cleanser, Psyllium Husk and five detoxing tea bags.

This was a pretty generous size tub and I still have a fair amount of this left over which I am still
using. Very relaxing and also made an amazing exfoliator!

This generous sample size of this Aussie product was so beautiful and nice to use! You simply have
to go check out their website for their entire range. I have and am hooked. Line and sinker!

Ok, so this Psyllium Husk is weird and interesting stuff! It is meant to absorb water inside your
stomach taking with it all of the toxins and badies out with it. Recommended to drink with a LOT of
water to ensure success and can make you feel bloated. Yeah, it did make me feel bloated. I don't
know for sure if it worked, but I only drank this one glass of it. It wasn't very nice and I noticed after
experimenting with the remainder in a glass that it actually turned jelly like if you let it sit in the water!

I also received a little pot of these tasty seeds to snack on each day which I actually really enjoyed!

Schkinny Maninny offers delivery bright and early in the morning to ensure you have your juice
nice and fresh as soon as you start your day! Mine was there each morning before I even woke up
at 7am! Delivery is available to those living in NSW, VIC & QLD and there is a wide variety of
different juice packs you can choose from ranging from just a one day cleanse to get your started
or if you are unsure if this is for you, up to a five day cleanse. You have many options available
including just juice, juice and a healthy dinner, juice and soup or you can just order the juices
singly if you find you only like a certain flavour/s.

I chose to undertake the 3 Day Juice & Dinner Cleanse as I wasn't sure I would be able to last three
whole days on liquid alone, so having an option of a healthy pre-prepared dinner also available was
more my cup of tea. So let me show you what I received each day in my pack and what I thought of it!

On the first day I was ready to go! I'd had a hearty dinner the night before so I was eager to get started
and see how I would feel on a completely different food and liquid consumption than I am used to, if
I'd lose any weight, feel lighter and less bloated, have more energy and just generally feel good!

DAY 1
For breakfast the very first juice to begin my cleanse was the Schkinny Leap Frog green juice!
This juice contained a refreshing blend of - Spinach, Cucumber, Apple, Kiwifruit & Parsley.
This tasted pretty good. It took some getting used to honestly, mainly because I am just not used to
drinking so much greenery!

By about 10am I cracked open the next juice. The Schkinny Pine Grapple which was a blend of
Pineapple, Carrot, Celery, Ginger and Apple. This was much yummier and a lot sweeter than the first juice. I was so grateful for this juice that I downed it in about two minutes! Gah... delicious!

Lunch was a liquid soup which contained a blend of Carrot, Cashew
Nuts, Pear, Ginger, Ground Coriander, Ground Ginger, Pepper, Pink Himalayan Salt & Water. I wasn't a fan of this. But to be fair this was the first day and my taste buds were still new to this kind of eating and I was pretty darn hungry by this time of the day! I have never been a fan of  ginger or coriander ever in my life anyway, so that is just my personal taste preference.

My afternoon pick me up was the Schkinny Fruity Punch, a more simple mix of rockmelon,
watermelon, orange and mint. I'm not font of the mint, but otherwise this drink was quite yummy!

By around 6pm when I usually have dinner I was feeling ok. I wouldn't say I was starving but I was
definitely having some sugar cravings and solid food withdrawals. Thanking myself quickly for
ordering the pack which included a solid dinner I opened up my container. A freshly pre-prepared
mixed salad of Pear, Rocket, Green Beans, Walnuts, Cucumber and Goji Berries including a small
dressing of Avocado, Lemon Juice and Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

I think I was slightly more brain dead than usual on this first day as I forgot to take an actual picture
of my meal as I have the following two days. However I think at least this way you can see how these
meals look when they come to you, and it was actually delicious and I ate every last bite gratefully
including the bonus little container of seeds!

DAY 2
Waking up on day 2 was easier than usual. I think my body was already into full detox mode and it
was making me feel more full of energy and ready to tackle to day ahead feeling less heavy and with
a clearer head. That's not to say I wasn't starving and so ready to see what was for breakfast!

The first juice was called Schkinny Water Frog. Like day one, this was another green juice, however
a bit different with ingredients including - Spinach, Parsley, Kiwifruit, Watermelon and Orange.
This was definitely was a great wake me up and one of the best juices to begin the day with. I really
enjoyed this flavour combo and would probably just purchase this one again singly in future.

My mid morning get through until lunch was the Triple C. Carrot being the main ingredient but also
containing more greenies including Celery, Apple and Cucumber. By this time I have realised I much
prefer the fruit blends much more than the ones which contain veggies and herbs.

My soup for lunch was the Schkinny Colly, Meg & Lee Soup and boy was I tempted to wak some
bread in the toaster to dip into it! But I promise you I did stay strong and resisted the strong urge and
slurped through it spoon by spoon. This was actually a pretty decently large serving and I just
couldn't get through it all. Washed it down with water which helped with the slightly bland taste.

I spent the last few hours before bed watching our usual TV shows and entertaining the kids whilst
drinking my last juice for the day. This one called the Schkinny Rocky Orange Show was Mint,
Rockmelon, Orange, Cucumber and Apple was ok apart from the mint I am not fond of. However
I must admit this juice stuff by this time had really done it's job in clearing out my system so to
speak! I have noticed a flatter, less ballooned stomach and am feeling quite good generally.

For dinner that night was the Chickpea Hotpot with Tuscan Spices which you have the option to
eat either hot or cold depending on your own personal preference. I chose to eat mine straight out
of the fridge cold. Ingredients included - Chickpeas, Tomato Zucchini, Spinach, Red Onion, Parsley,
Lemon Juice and Tuscan Spices. Aside from the parsley which I'm just not into eating such large
quantities of, the rest of the meal was quite satisfying.

DAY 3
Ah finally, the home stretch! Honestly, by this time my will power is getting weak again. Not sure if
I am having another solid food withdrawal and just craving bad food in general. I am just looking
forward to the end of the day, however grateful I am for actually doing this detoxing juice cleanse.
I know it has done wonders for my body. Getting so many nutrient rich ingredients into my body
via liquid form has made me realise I can still continue to do this once the cleanse is complete. Just
incorporating actual meals with them.

Again breakfast was the Schkinny Leap Frog which was the same breakfast juice as on day one.
Still unable to get my taste buds to love the parsley, but hey we can't all love everything. Still, I
drank it all because that is all I had and munched on some of the seeds provided to get me through
until the mid morning juice and lunch.

The mid morning juice was a new one I'd not yet tried so I was interested to give it go, however
hesitant about the beetroot in juice form. This one was called Pine Root and also consisted of
sweet Pineapple, Apples, Carrot and Ginger. If is weren't for the pineapple to cut through all of that
I'm sure so sure I would have need able to down it.

Lunch again was another soup. Schkinny Creme of Spinach. Spinach, Cashew Nuts, Lemon Juice,
Leek, Almond Milk and Water. This out of the three, was my favourite soup. Lately I have been
converting over from cow's milk to almond as dairy milk unsets my stomach, so I was used to the
flavour in the soup and enjoyed the other ingredients. This made this last day a whole lot easier.
Only half a day left to go!

Finally, the very last juice to conclude my three day juice cleanse. The Schkinny Pink Sherbet.
An interesting name for a blend of Watermelon, Lemon, Apple and Cucumber. This juice was
really good! Again one of my favourites and one I would happily purchase again singly along with
the Water Frog juice.

Ok, so not quite the end of the cleanse. Here is the third and final dinner. The Moroccan Lentil
Medley with Mandarin. I don't think I have ever consumed a savoury hot dinner finished with cool
fresh mandarin on the top. It was an interesting combo. Not sure I would go there again. However it
wasn't a bad meal. The beans were fresh and crisp and they complemented the lentils giving them
added flavour.
Schkinny Maninny not only offers 1-5 day juice cleanses. If you're super keen or find after
trying it out you think it might be something you'd want to continue for a period of time there

SNAKKU

~  SNAKKU  ~

Japanese Snack Subscription Box

November 2015 Unboxing!

Watch unboxing video! - Click here! :)
http://www.snakku.com

I love subscription boxes! I have reviewed quite a few varieties both here and over on my Youtube
channel and not all about beauty. I enjoy them no matter what the topic. I have also thoroughly
enjoyed a few kid and all natural boxes and now I am so excited to share with you a snack box all the
way from Japan!

Snakku is a monthly subscription box which consists of a variety of 10-15 full size tasty snacks from
different areas in Japan each month for $38.95. There were well over 15 items in my box so I am
very impressed and would highly recommend checking out this box if you're after some new and
different fun snacks to try and to have whilst on the go as they are all perfect handbag size! :)

Because I am Australian and do not speak nor can read a word of Japanese at all I was relieved to find
a trusty info card (in English!) as soon as I opened the box to guide me through each and every
product with info on what it was, how it was made and where it is from. Pretty awesome and
interesting stories and I love how Snakku supports the small snack stores which produce amazing
 delicious foods!

Tokyo Banana x2
These cuties are a banana flavoured fluffy sponge cake consisting of banana maple custard in the
centre. Yum! I just love how cute these are with the little hearts printed on the outside. Aw!
They also taste delicious and are super soft and creamy. These are apparently very popular in Japan,
let me know if you have tried them!

Tokyo Banana Pie x2
These crisp cookies have a banana shape to them which makes sense since they are in fact banana
flavoured and made with real Tokyo bananas! I actually shared these with my 2yr old son who
happily munched away on them and then was asking for more! Poor little man, I may have to
source some more! Really yummy, I almost wish I hadn't shared them! ;)

Mame Yakko x3
These came in three different flavour variations. Spicy Dashi Broth, Edamame & Traditional roasted
Kinako soybean. This have a light crisp crunch to them and are very tasty! Perfect for a quick pick
me up snack throughout the day when you only have a few seconds to spare! (My life!)

Kinesha x3
These three flavours - Chocolate, Plain & Maple are oh my gosh so moreish I think out of the whole
box I enjoyed these the most! These have come from a small boutique snack store in Ginza, Japan.
If word gets around about how yummy these snack are they won't be small for long! These folded
butter biscuits are folded in very thin layers making them very light and crisp when eating.

Sweet Sake Soft Candy x5
These soft chewy sweets are not as sweet as your very common sugary snack. These seem more
grown up and are actually very addictive! Five did not survive very long at all! I can't believe these
are literally just rice sake! A flavour very different to what my Aussie palate is used to. A
refreshing change.

Seasonal Meiji Horn x1 Box
These delicate biscuit sandwiches made with real purple jam were quite unique in their make up with
their ends being sealed with chocolate. A nice sweet snack to have in between meals. Both my 4 and
2 year olds gobbled these up in no time! I had to make sure I at least kept one for myself! I wonder if
these come in other flavours? Very nice packaging and I liked how they were individually wrapped.

Nidoage Mochi x2
Initially I thought these looked like Churros, however upon closer inspection and taste testing these
are actually nothing like them! These have a much more savoury flavour and are quite hard to bite
into although being very light and crispy on the inside. These snacks have been double grilled and
soy glazed. Soy glazed...Mmmmmm!

Mukashi No Senbel x2
These too had more of a savory taste with a hard crisp exterior. Grilled in a clay fire kiln, these rice
crackers were a yummy snack to have in-between meals and was easy for me to eat whilst still
running my mad self around the house trying to get everything done. My 2yr old son got hold of one
at some point and proceeded to throw it down after attempting to bite into it saying "Ah rock!" So
maybe too hard for little 2 yr olds! haha!

Double Anzutsumi x2
Sometime after filming my unboxing/first impressions video of this box I discovered that I had
actually guessed these two flavours incorrectly! The one on the left is actually Red Bean and on the
right is Sweet Potato flavoured. Not the kind of flavours I would usually eat here in Australia,
however I am always open to trying new foods and so this was exciting for me! The exterior was a
soft sponge and surprisingly the gooey texture in the centre was quite sweet for the savoury
flavours. Interesting, not bad, just interesting to the palette, I would have to get used to these.

The end! :)
