SCHKINNY MANINNY

~  SCHKINNY MANINNY ~
3 DAY JUICE CLEANSE

I like to think of myself as a pretty healthy kind of person. I don't smoke, drink any alcohol, do drugs
or sun bake. I look after my skin, keep active and eat in moderation. However there is always room
for improvement. I am not perfect. I do have a sweet tooth (or salty depending on my mood) tooth
that can get me into trouble every now and again which has me ending up feeling guilty, sluggish and
yuk in the stomach.

So when I had the opportunity recently to try a 3 Day Juice Cleanse from Schkinny Maninny how
could I not think this would be a great idea to help clean out my system!

INCLUDED IN MY 3 DAY DETOX PACK!
Schkinny Maninny are great in that they realise a detox is not always an easy feat, especially for
beginners like myself and offer some extra goodies on the first day to last you throughout your
journey. These do often change so you if you are curious you can find out what's on offer on their
website. My pack included - A tub of detoxing bath salts, Vigour Skin Therapy Revive Treatment
Cleanser, Psyllium Husk and five detoxing tea bags.

This was a pretty generous size tub and I still have a fair amount of this left over which I am still
using. Very relaxing and also made an amazing exfoliator!

This generous sample size of this Aussie product was so beautiful and nice to use! You simply have
to go check out their website for their entire range. I have and am hooked. Line and sinker!

Ok, so this Psyllium Husk is weird and interesting stuff! It is meant to absorb water inside your
stomach taking with it all of the toxins and badies out with it. Recommended to drink with a LOT of
water to ensure success and can make you feel bloated. Yeah, it did make me feel bloated. I don't
know for sure if it worked, but I only drank this one glass of it. It wasn't very nice and I noticed after
experimenting with the remainder in a glass that it actually turned jelly like if you let it sit in the water!

I also received a little pot of these tasty seeds to snack on each day which I actually really enjoyed!

Schkinny Maninny offers delivery bright and early in the morning to ensure you have your juice
nice and fresh as soon as you start your day! Mine was there each morning before I even woke up
at 7am! Delivery is available to those living in NSW, VIC & QLD and there is a wide variety of
different juice packs you can choose from ranging from just a one day cleanse to get your started
or if you are unsure if this is for you, up to a five day cleanse. You have many options available
including just juice, juice and a healthy dinner, juice and soup or you can just order the juices
singly if you find you only like a certain flavour/s.

I chose to undertake the 3 Day Juice & Dinner Cleanse as I wasn't sure I would be able to last three
whole days on liquid alone, so having an option of a healthy pre-prepared dinner also available was
more my cup of tea. So let me show you what I received each day in my pack and what I thought of it!

On the first day I was ready to go! I'd had a hearty dinner the night before so I was eager to get started
and see how I would feel on a completely different food and liquid consumption than I am used to, if
I'd lose any weight, feel lighter and less bloated, have more energy and just generally feel good!

DAY 1
For breakfast the very first juice to begin my cleanse was the Schkinny Leap Frog green juice!
This juice contained a refreshing blend of - Spinach, Cucumber, Apple, Kiwifruit & Parsley.
This tasted pretty good. It took some getting used to honestly, mainly because I am just not used to
drinking so much greenery!

By about 10am I cracked open the next juice. The Schkinny Pine Grapple which was a blend of
Pineapple, Carrot, Celery, Ginger and Apple. This was much yummier and a lot sweeter than the first juice. I was so grateful for this juice that I downed it in about two minutes! Gah... delicious!

Lunch was a liquid soup which contained a blend of Carrot, Cashew
Nuts, Pear, Ginger, Ground Coriander, Ground Ginger, Pepper, Pink Himalayan Salt & Water. I wasn't a fan of this. But to be fair this was the first day and my taste buds were still new to this kind of eating and I was pretty darn hungry by this time of the day! I have never been a fan of  ginger or coriander ever in my life anyway, so that is just my personal taste preference.

My afternoon pick me up was the Schkinny Fruity Punch, a more simple mix of rockmelon,
watermelon, orange and mint. I'm not font of the mint, but otherwise this drink was quite yummy!

By around 6pm when I usually have dinner I was feeling ok. I wouldn't say I was starving but I was
definitely having some sugar cravings and solid food withdrawals. Thanking myself quickly for
ordering the pack which included a solid dinner I opened up my container. A freshly pre-prepared
mixed salad of Pear, Rocket, Green Beans, Walnuts, Cucumber and Goji Berries including a small
dressing of Avocado, Lemon Juice and Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

I think I was slightly more brain dead than usual on this first day as I forgot to take an actual picture
of my meal as I have the following two days. However I think at least this way you can see how these
meals look when they come to you, and it was actually delicious and I ate every last bite gratefully
including the bonus little container of seeds!

DAY 2
Waking up on day 2 was easier than usual. I think my body was already into full detox mode and it
was making me feel more full of energy and ready to tackle to day ahead feeling less heavy and with
a clearer head. That's not to say I wasn't starving and so ready to see what was for breakfast!

The first juice was called Schkinny Water Frog. Like day one, this was another green juice, however
a bit different with ingredients including - Spinach, Parsley, Kiwifruit, Watermelon and Orange.
This was definitely was a great wake me up and one of the best juices to begin the day with. I really
enjoyed this flavour combo and would probably just purchase this one again singly in future.

My mid morning get through until lunch was the Triple C. Carrot being the main ingredient but also
containing more greenies including Celery, Apple and Cucumber. By this time I have realised I much
prefer the fruit blends much more than the ones which contain veggies and herbs.

My soup for lunch was the Schkinny Colly, Meg & Lee Soup and boy was I tempted to wak some
bread in the toaster to dip into it! But I promise you I did stay strong and resisted the strong urge and
slurped through it spoon by spoon. This was actually a pretty decently large serving and I just
couldn't get through it all. Washed it down with water which helped with the slightly bland taste.

I spent the last few hours before bed watching our usual TV shows and entertaining the kids whilst
drinking my last juice for the day. This one called the Schkinny Rocky Orange Show was Mint,
Rockmelon, Orange, Cucumber and Apple was ok apart from the mint I am not fond of. However
I must admit this juice stuff by this time had really done it's job in clearing out my system so to
speak! I have noticed a flatter, less ballooned stomach and am feeling quite good generally.

For dinner that night was the Chickpea Hotpot with Tuscan Spices which you have the option to
eat either hot or cold depending on your own personal preference. I chose to eat mine straight out
of the fridge cold. Ingredients included - Chickpeas, Tomato Zucchini, Spinach, Red Onion, Parsley,
Lemon Juice and Tuscan Spices. Aside from the parsley which I'm just not into eating such large
quantities of, the rest of the meal was quite satisfying.

DAY 3
Ah finally, the home stretch! Honestly, by this time my will power is getting weak again. Not sure if
I am having another solid food withdrawal and just craving bad food in general. I am just looking
forward to the end of the day, however grateful I am for actually doing this detoxing juice cleanse.
I know it has done wonders for my body. Getting so many nutrient rich ingredients into my body
via liquid form has made me realise I can still continue to do this once the cleanse is complete. Just
incorporating actual meals with them.

Again breakfast was the Schkinny Leap Frog which was the same breakfast juice as on day one.
Still unable to get my taste buds to love the parsley, but hey we can't all love everything. Still, I
drank it all because that is all I had and munched on some of the seeds provided to get me through
until the mid morning juice and lunch.

The mid morning juice was a new one I'd not yet tried so I was interested to give it go, however
hesitant about the beetroot in juice form. This one was called Pine Root and also consisted of
sweet Pineapple, Apples, Carrot and Ginger. If is weren't for the pineapple to cut through all of that
I'm sure so sure I would have need able to down it.

Lunch again was another soup. Schkinny Creme of Spinach. Spinach, Cashew Nuts, Lemon Juice,
Leek, Almond Milk and Water. This out of the three, was my favourite soup. Lately I have been
converting over from cow's milk to almond as dairy milk unsets my stomach, so I was used to the
flavour in the soup and enjoyed the other ingredients. This made this last day a whole lot easier.
Only half a day left to go!

Finally, the very last juice to conclude my three day juice cleanse. The Schkinny Pink Sherbet.
An interesting name for a blend of Watermelon, Lemon, Apple and Cucumber. This juice was
really good! Again one of my favourites and one I would happily purchase again singly along with
the Water Frog juice.

Ok, so not quite the end of the cleanse. Here is the third and final dinner. The Moroccan Lentil
Medley with Mandarin. I don't think I have ever consumed a savoury hot dinner finished with cool
fresh mandarin on the top. It was an interesting combo. Not sure I would go there again. However it
wasn't a bad meal. The beans were fresh and crisp and they complemented the lentils giving them
added flavour.
Schkinny Maninny not only offers 1-5 day juice cleanses. If you're super keen or find after
trying it out you think it might be something you'd want to continue for a period of time there

MAGNIFEYES

~  Rimmel London  ~
Magnif'Eyes Shadow & Liner Pens!

I have recently been testing out two of these gorgeous shimmery brand new double ended eye shadow
liners from Rimmel London in the shades 'Back To Blacks' & "Queens Of The Bronzed Age'
and I have been completely digging the easy to wear combo!

I have mainly been using the lighter shade of  the bronzy brown all over my lid and lightly on my
brow bone and then blending in the darker brown shade into my crease. These are so easy to blend
that I have just been using my finger which I find with these in particular works much better than
using a shadow brush as I normally would with any other eye shadow product, however since
these are cream shadows and not powder this technique is easiest, quickest and I have found most
effective.

Whilst the formula itself is quite soft, but they do blend beautifully together and these two which I have in particular look great together for both everyday wear as well as night when a bolder line is drawn and then smudged for a smokey effect. The duel end means one end is pointier than the other which makes for an easy thin or bold line.

The shades do have some shimmer in them which transfer onto the skin in a really pretty way without looking like too much glitter dust! I found they lasted for a good full day without creasing or fading.

These new Rimmel London Magnif'Eyes Double Ended Eyeshadow Pens also come in shades
"Kissed By A Rose Gold" & "Dark Side Of Blue" and can be purchased from Priceline, Coles,
K-Mart, Big W and Target as well as selected pharmacies here in Australia for current RRP $16.95ea.

Have you tried these shadow pens?
Which shade are you most keen to try or which is your favourite?

PUKKA

~  PUKKA  TEA  ~

This time of the year brings many things. Cold weather, fog, wolly socks, snuggly blankets, hot
soup and hot tea. Thank goodness for hot tea's to make me not only feel nice and warm on the inside,
but to also make me feel good from the inside! This time of the year also seems to bring sickness
and the sniffles to our whole household! Blah!

These Revitalise and Three Ginger Pukka teas have been a welcome addition to my daily routine
because they smell amazing, make me feel energized and feeling more like my old self again.

Revitalise -
This flavour is my absolute favoutite of these two because it smells incredibly comforting even before I have added water and stirred. The blend of organic cinnamon, cardamom
and ginger give it a yummy, delicious scent and flavour with a hint of organge peel, elderflower,
licorice root, sencha green tea, spearment leaf, clove bud and black peppercorn.

Brings the bounce back into your step when you are feeling low on energy and motivation
even though Pukka teas are caffine free! Pretty amazing and makes me feel great about drinking
it completely guilt free! :)

Three Ginger -
I have never been too fond of ginger until I experienced the unbearable
discomforting feeling of morning sickness. It took about a millisecond for me to decide I'd rather eat ginger by  the whole root then bear another minute of feeling like all of my insides are about to come shooting out of my mouth without hesitation. No matter how horrid the taste!
(Ginger works miracles if your stomach feels uneasy.)

Over the years ginger and I have become quite friendly as I have come to really appreciate it.
This tea's scent is milder than the Revitalise but stick packs a punch when it comes to it's flavour.

With a blend of organic ginger, galangal and golden turmeric this tea is beautifully strong and
whilst I have been all snuffly and feeling rotten, this tea makes my head feel less heavy and my body
not as weak. When you can't stomach anything else, this should help. Also contains licorice root.

Pukka tea's also come in a wide variety of other flavours including
After Dinner, Cleanse, Detox with Lemon, Gorgeous Earl Grey, Chamomile Vanilla & Manuka
Honey, Cool Mint Green Tea, Elderberry & Echinacea w/Elderflower, Lemon & Mandarin, Clean

LAURA MERCIER

FOUNDATION TOO DARK?

HOW-TO:
MAKE IT WEARABLE!

RRP: $59.00 (30ml)

Most of us have been there some time or another. We buy the perfect foundation,
it gives a flawless finish, looks either matte or dewy and fresh and never cakey or drying.
We wear it to death and when we go to reach for our trusty back up we realise it is not longer
Winter, but Summer and our skin tone has warmed from the sun and fake tanning and now our
perfect foundation is completely the wrong shade! Whaaa!

Here's where I come in to let you in a few simple tips and tricks to make your foundation work
for your skin tone. No matter if it is too light or too dark. Most of the time, it can be easily fixed
with a bit of tweaking with just one product!

My skin tone is naturally pretty light. I'm not totally pasty, but I'm definitely not super tanned either.
So when this incredibly lust worthy foundation landed on my desk to dry I knew I had to make
it work!

This Laura Mercier Moisture Supreme Foundation is in the shade Golden Beige and is about
2-3 shades too dark for my skin at the moment. I have been fake tanning a lot recently
so it doesn't look too far from the rest of the skin on my body, but I do still need to lighten it up a bit.

To lighten up a darker foundation simply find your favourite moisturiser or sunscreen.
The richer and thicker the cream the better chance of it lightening up your foundation and giving
your skin a dewy, fresh and natural finish whilst also moisturising and protecting your face
from the sun! Bonus win!

Here I have blended equal amounts of the Laura Mercier Moisture Supreme Foundation
with my favourite daily moisturiser of the moment. Puretopia's Instant Moisture Daily
Face Moisturiser which contains SPF 15 which aids in the lightening process.
As you can see the result is a much better match to my skin's colour!

This particular foundation is easy to work with with the pump dispenser. The product is a great
consistency. Not too thick or runny. I found it blended out onto my skin better when I used my
beauty blender as opposed to my fingers as the product did not want to move around once applied
with my fingers. However once I added the Puretopia Instant Moisturiser, it blended much easier
and gave my skin a dewy finish as well as added hydration as this foundation already contains
an amazing hydrating formulation.

The coverage of this foundation is quite good, it conceals fine lines although it
does not conceal pores at all. I would recommend using a good primer underneath!
The Laura Mercier Foundation Primer Radiance is on my wish list!

The packaging of this bottle is gorgeous is it's glass bottle. I love foundations in glass bottles as
opposed to plastic ones as I find they store and last much better and longer this way. They also
look much better quality, you just need to be careful not to drop them!
That, as any beauty addict would agree, is a makeup tragedy!

fragrance, silicone & paraben free?!

On the flip side, if you find you seem to be stuck with a foundation too light for your current
skin tone, either mix a bit of a darker shade if you have it, or blend a bit of fake tan into it!
Just play around with different quantities to get your perfected DIY shade!

Do you have foundations stuffed away in draws no being used because the shade is
either too light or too dark?
