VALENTINES MAKEUP

~ VALENTINE'S DAY MAKE-UP!

With the day of love just two short days away I figured my Valentine's Day themed
week wouldn't be complete without at least one make-up inspo post!

So here goes!

Products used to create my face...

BASE
Nothing looks quite as good without a perfect base.
This is probably the most important part of my whole look.
If your skin looks great, then everything else is just icing on the cake!

EYES
Bloom Liquid Liner in Black
The eyes are the window to your soul. So make them bright, awake and sparkling!
I love lots of lashes, a wing for a bit of drama and sass and natural tones to enhance
and bring out my dark eyes.

LIPS
Love me a barbie pink pout! My fav lip look! :)

NAILS
Can't go wrong with a good old classic red!
I'm loving this one, just look how shiny it is without a top coat!

So there you have it! A simple, little bit glam make-up look for Valentine's Day!
Weather you're going to be spending it with your other half, friends, kids or even your pet!
I hope everyone has the chance to show the ones we love how much they mean to us. xx
Do you like to glam it up for V'Day?

VALENTINES DAY GIFTS FOR HER

~ VALENTINE'S DAY ~

GIFT GUIDE

   FOR HER!

I think women seem to quite unfairly have the reputation as being complicated beings.
However I have to disagree. Not just because I am in fact a woman and understand us completely!
But because I feel like men are simple beings and just need a little shall we say 'help?' in the
area of gift giving!

Let me break it down for you guys!

We love to shop.
We want things we don't need.
AND we want compliments. - Lots of them, all the time.
Even if you've already told us once. Tell us everyday.
Doesn't have to be anything crazy. Just 'Your hair looks so pretty today babe!'
Or 'You smell amazing, what are you wearing?'
(Even if you don't care what kind of perfume we have on, ask us anyway and pretend to
listen, we love talking about that stuff!)
Just do it! Ok? Ok!
(This is an simple, easy way to get in and stay in our good books!)
:)

Below I share with you some gifts I am almost positive she will love!
Good luck, mate!

Starting from the first square, top left and working through...

'It's Written In The Stars' Mini Gold Notebook
Notebooks come in handy in hundreds of ways.
Writing something as simple as 'Love You' inside would be just....'Awwww!'

Kate Spade Holly Drive Compact 'Darling' Mirror
Call us 'Darling' it's endearing and sweet.
We also love mirrors for touch ups on the go.

NY Posy Court Turquoise Vase
The quote on this vase says 'A Smile If The Prettiest Thing You Can Wear'
which is very romantic coming from someone we love. Fill it with our favourite blooms
for extra points!

Heart Jewellery Box
Anything with hearts is romantic and shows us you love us.
If you hide extra little surprises inside the box, well done!

Miniphant Money Box
Aside from the cuteness of this money box.
You could always pop some cash of gift cards to your woman's favourite
stores inside! (We love to shop remember!) ;)

Swann Imports Abstract Black & White Book Box (Set Of 2)
Everybody has secrets, especially women. We need a place to hide them and
these also look great as decor. Feel free to put chocolates or candy inside before
you give these to us though!

Gold Linen Match Box Sleeve
We usually love to have romantic candles lit, especially on Valentine's Day/Night!
So gifting us some pretty candles or just having them lit around the house for when we
come home or in the bathroom around the bubble bath you've just prepared for us, then
having this pretty matchbox makes everytime we light a candle just all that more elegant.
We like pretty things, even if they are just simple things like a box of matches!

London Cascading Floral Sweetheart Dress
If you know your woman well enough to know her size and what dresses or clothing items are on
her wish list, then buying for us to wear on Valentine's Day is gold!
You may get subtle hints which we know you guys are usually oblivious to, so pay attention!!

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush
If your girl is into makeup and doesn't own one of these yet, chances are she wants one!
Don't ask questions, you will never understand. We just neeeed it, ok? It makes us happy!

Heart Print Socks
These are a cute gift, but only if they're super cute socks! Like these ones with hearts
are themed with the day so she should be pretty happy with these. Just make sure this
is not the only gift you give to her!

Heart Photo Frame
Try to pick up a frame that goes with your woman's taste. If she likes pink, get pink.
Have a look around her appartment or just ask her her favourite colour.
Pick out a happy snap of you both and put it in the frame. It's a thoughtful gift that shows
a bit of effort.

Rose Gold Tone Large Stone Stretch Bracelet
Personally, at the moment I am all into Rose Gold things. However, make sure you suss
out your womans preferred jewellery colour first. It might be gold or silver!
See what she wears most and go with that!

Wrapped In Love Diamond Ring
If it's got diamonds in it, we will love it. Diamonds are a girls best friend after all!
Just don't buy us cheap, fake jewellery. We can do that ourselves.
We want the real deal from you so that we can keep it forever!

Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream Perfume
This has been a very popular perfume among women this past year, so this could be a winner!
Contains notes of Jasmine, Lychee, Pear, Grapefruite, White Woods & Musk to name a few!
It is gorgeous! If anything she should at least love the pretty bottle, that's half the reason we
buy perfume! Truth!

GHD Rose Gold Limited Edition Straightener
If she straightens her hair regularly and it's not a GHD, I recommend splurging on one
for her. If we don't own one, we all want one and they are available in a range of different
colours including turquoise and purple so go with a colour that she loves!

Clinique Party Lips & Nails
Lipsticks and nail polish are no brainers for most women.
Clinique is a lovely brand that make top quality products. She is sure to love
some pretty new shades to play with and appreciate you going into the women's department
to purchase them! Or if that sounds too much, you can always purchase online!
So there you go fellas! I hope this helps you!
We're simple creatures really....flowers, chocolate, jewellery, compliments & little
things that show us you care.

Meet My Babies!

Motherhood
-
A Gift
A Joy
A Celebration
A Struggle
A Test
A Reward
A Lifetime

Meet My Babies! :)

Meet Imbi Maiya!
(Often misheard as Indi. Maiya pronounced May-ya)
My first born, turning 3 in July on her daddy's birthday. Don't ask me where the past 3 years have gone, they truly have flown by!
Little miss bossy, know it all (she gets that from my sister!) has my chocolate brown eyes and is the spitting image of me at the same age.
She currently loves Peppa Pig and The Wiggles. :)

Next up is little mammas boy Rory Edward!
Edward, after his grandfather on his daddy's side.
Born September last year, my little man is just 6 months old.
He has 2 teeth through on his bottom gums and is 99% crawling and can stand up on his own holding onto the couch! :) Has his daddy's amazing crystal blue eyes, a future ladies man I'm sure! Adores his sister, anything you're eating he will try to swipe it and having staring stand offs with the kitty cat is something he is facinated by! :)

I have always wanted to be a mum, for as long as I can remember. Growing up for me was tough, I didnt have a great family life and I was often scared and alone.
But I try not to think about it and without going into the nitty gritty of it all, I feel like it has made me one hell of a strong woman and as small as it may seem to some, I am truly living my dream now as a mother and wife. A bit of an old fashioned dream I suppose, but I don't feel like there's anything wrong with that. Each to their own. Anything goes these days, so long as you're happy and not hurting anyone, I say go get your dream, you are the only one who will make it happen.

Probably the most recent pic of the 3 if us. (Excuse the no makeup!)

My first pregnancy was quite pleasant, thinking back. I was working full time in a warehouse and doing pretty strenuous work, on my feet and lifting and packing boxes all day long. I was fit and even though Imbi came 2 weeks early and only weighed 6 pound, after 24 hours of labour, I had nothing to compare it to until I was pregnant with Rory. For some reason I found that pregnancy much harder. I guess because my body was not as strong, fit or young as it used to be. Also he was a much bigger baby and he went full term, only the Labour was only 10 hours, goodie right? Would have been except I hemeraged and had to be rushed off for surgery straight after and barely got to hold him for 5 seconds after he was born. Quite a traumatic experience that has me nervous about having more children. Maybe one day, these 2 are my absolute world right now. I love them more than I could possibly describe. They keep my hands, arms, legs and mind totally busy, so for now, 2 is more than enough. I have no clue how on earth these mothers with 3 or more do it!? There are some days, okay many days, I'm not gonna lie, where they drive me completely round the bend! My husband works his butt off and doesn't have a lot of spare time to help out, there is no family around close by to help either, so I often feel like I am doing it all which can be over whelming, stressful and lonely. We moved to Brisbane about 5 years ago and I've barely had a social experience with the girls since.
I just hope the future brings a bit more financial freedom so I am able to provide them with all the opportunities life has to offer them, so they are able to completely soak up and live life in any way they choose.

Anyhow, this post was basically just a little more personal insight into my family life that I thought I would share. I hope to do some more mummy posts soon. I know I love to be inspired and am always googling random mummy related questions, so hopefully I can also be inspiring and helpful in my writing.
