EMPTIES

~  EMPTIES  ~
MARCH & APRIL

Previous - July / August / September / October / November / December / January / February

~ MARCH! ~

So obviously time is flying by too fast for me to keep up to these days so I am combining two months
together as March especially was AGES ago! Plus it is almost the end of yet another month so a new
month of empties is again due for reflection and review.

Being at home 24/7 with my two toddlers plus being co-owner of our own business I help run with
my husband, free time to relax and blog/vlog and do my own thing is rare. However I am doing the
best I can with the time I have. Being busy sure does make the time FLY! I have come to realise this
so much more over the past almost five years since becoming a mother. Seems like everyday second
of everyday is go, go, GO! Frankly I need a break and time to breathe...

Come early August we are packing up our place we have lived in here in Brisbane over the past six
years and are moving on to live closer to my husbands family about an hour and a half away to a
more quiet neighbourhood.  I am really looking forward to a fresh start in a new place, having some
extra family around and with Imbi starting big school next year (which I am completely freaking out
and excited about) it should be nice to have some of my day partially calmed down and can focus on
just one kid at home which might let me relax a little. Maybe...

Anyway mini life update over, let get onto the fun stuff!

~  CLEANSERS!  ~

Peony Scented Bubble Bath
Back in January I received my $5 birthday voucher from Priceline in the mail and this is what I
spent it on. :) Mainly for the kids bubble baths, they loved it. Had a gorgeous scent and made great
white, fluffy bubbles!

Organic Care Lemongrass & Ginger Hand Wash (Review!)
Picked this one up again a few Beautorium's ago. Why? Because it is amazing and great value!
Not to mention my whole family uses it and enjoys it.

Hello Kitty Shower Gel
Received this in a gift pack with matching perfume. So super cute and made great bubbles in the
bath!

~  LOTIONS & MOISTURISERS  ~

If you have really and I mean REALLY dry skin then this product is a must for you! So rich and thick
the lotion just soaks in and softens the skin instantly!! Honestly the best, most effective dry skin
treatment I have ever come across!

Papulex Oil-Free Cream
This was a nice light weight facial cream. My skin didn't irritate or break out whilst I used it. So I
think the fact it is designed for acne prone skin worked because my skin does tent to break out
when I don't use products targeted to my skin type.

Frangipani Body Lotion
This smelt amazing. Nothing else too special about it though. Just your average body lotion from a
gift pack I was given for Christmas.

NeoStrata Skin Active w/SPF (Sample)
This sample was good. I got two uses out of it. I would use it again.

~  SERUMS & TREATMENTS  ~

This is so hydrating and healing. I love it for my acne scaring and it just feels so so good!

Pumpkin Seed Organic Facial Serum (Review!)
This was such an interesting product to me. Simply sure pumpkin seed oil. That's it! The only
ingredient. I had no idea how lovely a product is actually is. Found in my Pearlesque monthly
subscription box reviewed here.

Eminence Naseberry Treatment Cream
I used a dab of this whenever I eyed a cheeky spot coming on and bam, it just cleared it up and
helped the already nasty ones heal up. My skin is so good right now! Hope I can live without this
now it's empty! I do have a bunch of other acne related products I have to replace this with though
so I should be good.

Sealicious Cuticle & Nail Oil
This tiny little bottle was in my Doll Connection goody bag and this was my first time using the
brand's products. Really nice, I liked it! Made my cuticles nice and soft and I believe my nails are
stronger and longer now because of it.

Sealicious Hand & Foot Mask
Used this sample up in one go! Lathered up my tootsies and let it set. I don't think I had ever used a
foot mask prior to this, so it was oh so nice to treat my tried aching feet!

~  HAIR!  ~

VO5 Silky Mist Miracle Mist
I used this on both mine and my daughters hair and it actually did an amazing job at detangling the
hair and giving it a lovely shine. Sadly, I don't think this product is still available to purchase.

L'Oreal Paris Perfect Blonde Cream
This conditioner came in my hair dye box which I forgot to keep for photographing for this empties
post. However it is the same boxed hair dye I used to use way back in my early 20's when I first
bleached my hair. It stripes the hair of any colour so the base is ready for colouring. It does a hell of
a great job at lightening the hair in one go!

Schick Intuition Pure Nourishment Razor Refil (Review!)
Here it is again. I go through these all the time. Cannot recommend this razor enough! The moisture
strip saves me every time. I just love it!

~  MAKEUP & NAILS  ~

Avon Cashmere Finish Foundation
This wore more like a tinted moisturiser in my opinion. Very light coverage. Would not particuarly
recommend it.

Brilliant! Love it, dries fast and up there with the best.

Napoleon Perdis Lip Gloss in Acapulco Pink
Pretty light barbie pink shade. Love it, it's my go-to lip colour! Always!

Catwalk Purple Eyeshadow
Had this for far too long and glad to see it go. Much prefer eyeshadow palettes over singles to be
honest. Much less fiddly and easy and faster to get the job done. The shade and quality was good
though. Had a nice subtle shimmer through it.

Maybelline Dream Mousse Blush in #10 Pink Frosting
This was a gorgeous shade and this pot lasted me AGES! I would purchase this again, though I
might go for another colour to try something new.

Nars Optimal Brightening Concentrate (Sample)
Hard to have much of an opinion after just one use. Didn't irritate and did not leave any kind of
residue. Was able to apply my normal facial moisturiser over the top straight away.

~ APRIL ~

Not so many this month. Just a few large bottles which I have to say I am still pretty proud of since
they are so large. Every one is a little win. :)

~ HAIR! ~

I have been using this shampoo/conditioner combo for years and have reviewed them here.
Does a good job at curbing those pesky split ends. Smells really nice and lathers up like a treat
with every wash.

With my DIY hair lightening comes DIY tone correcting! At the moment my hair is leaning toward
the gawd awful orange side and I just ain't got time for that! So purple & silver shampoos &
conditioners have been my best friends at every single wash!

Scunci Hair & Body Art Tattoos
We've all heard about body tatts, but with hair tattoos being the new thing to do, it was a fun
experience to try these out and if you are interested, you can watch my video tutorial on these here.

~  BODY!  ~

Victoria's Secret Dream Angels Heavenly Lotion
This lotion is gorgeous! A gift from my husband a few years back which I have been savouring.
However it was most likely past it's due date so had to be used up asap!

Another beautiful product. I have reviewed the whole Coastal range here. Lovely and light on the
skin. The fragrance is light and is so hydrating and soothing at the same time.

Puretopia Sensitive Care Protective Moisturiser
Coming into Winter, my skin is becoming dryer, hence why I am probably going through a few more
facial creams than usual. I don't have sensitive skin by any means, but I still really liked this.
Stopped the dry feeling and sensation on my skin and soaked in fast!

~ Sample! ~

I wanted to love this, really I did. Props to Benefit for being innovative, however this product was just
a big fail for me. Maybe it was just the sample packaging and the full size is much easier to use?
Please let me know, because this was pretty much impossible to use and dried out pretty much
straight away.

How are you going with your empties so far this year?

I have included this post over at Fabulous & Fun Life's blog link up 'Monday Makeup Madness!' Check it out!

PRICELINE MAKEUP BAG

~  PRICELINE MAKE-UP BAG  ~

Gift With - (Out?) Purchase!

Join in on the discussion over on Youtube! :)

So, here is the story... basically I explain it all in my un-bagging video above however I will also give you a bit of a run down here.  So you are probably wondering
why I have titled this as a 'Gift With - (Out?) Purchase!' ?? Well let me explain. It is all
innocent I swear!

So nearing toward the end or it may have actually been the very last day of this promotion
in store. My husband, kids and I were out on the weekend getting some groceries and a
few other odds and ends around our local little shopping centre, and as you do when you
just want to get home late on a Sunday arvo with the kids beginning to get tired and
cranky we decided to split up. My son (2yrs) and I went to Coles and the hubby and my
daughter (4yrs) went to Priceline for totally unrelated fun makeup things!

So basically my husband saw the gift bag sitting on the shelf, had a look at it and decided
on impulse to surprise me with it. Then had second thoughts and wanted me to be able to
come in and pick out the products I wanted just in case he picked some things I already
had or didn't like. So after speaking to the lady in the store, she explained it was their last
bag and that he could just take it as they were about to close and were apparently just
trying to get rid of it! 0_o

Yippeeeee! Thank you lady from Priceline! You just made one very tired and worn out
mummy very, very happy!! :)

Each year the gift bags that Priceline offer differ slightly. You can check out last year's makeup gift
with purchase bag here. This years bag is about the same size as last years and like last years bag, it
is a lovely girlie pink colour with roses and a gold zip. I really like it, however last years still remains
my favourite thus far.

MASLOWANDCO

~  MASLOW & CO  ~
Beauty Box
New Zealand Edition
Unboxing!
I have always wanted to travel over to New Zealand. My husband backpacked over there for a few
months right before we met and hasn't stopped raving about it's beauty ever since! One day we plan
on visiting for a family holiday. Myself and the kids are especially excited to see the snow!

So it comes as absolute no surprise how completely thrilled I am to be delving into this very special
New Zealand edition of Maslow & Co's beauty box!

I recently stumbled across Maslow & Co on Instagram and fell in love with their subscription box
service! Each month you can receive a box filled with beautiful products from a different city from
anywhere in the world! How's that for keeping things interesting?!

I am familiar with a few of the brands in this box, however others are completely new to me so
make sure you are subscribed to my Youtube channel and stay tuned for a video unboxing plus a very
special product demonstration video using all of the products from this box! In the meantime you are
welcome to watch my unboxing video below!

So let's get into the box! For only $44 you completely get your monies worth right here ten fold!
This box alone is worth an RRP of $238.05! An annual subscription will only cost you $240!

Sans [Ceuticals] Baobab Regenerative Body Cream (50ml)
Not only does this full body cream improve the skin's density, elasticity and increase the skin's
natural collagen production. It also can be use to treat skin conditions such as psoriasis and
eczema.

Contains Baobab oil, vitamin E, A and omega oils. Perfect travel or handbag size. I am actually
keeping this beside my bed for hand cream whenever I need it! (S40.05)

Evolu Anti-aging Day Cream (75ml)
I go through day creams and moisturisers like anything so I am so happy to be able to try this new
one from Evolu. It sounds like my skin could really benefit from it. I am constantly lacking in rest
and sleep and in turn my skin does look a bit on the dull side, so I am glad this product says it helps
with that! Also being anti ageing is great because I am all about fighting that loud ticking clock!
($55.00)

Ethique Lime & Ginger Body Polish (100g)
Upon opening this box the aroma coming up and surrounding me was both awakening and very fresh.
I believe to majority of the smell was coming from this product with contains a powerful punch of
lime and ginger.

The bar itself feels a bit greasy when held which is from the ginger oils. Also contains cocoa butter
and bamboo powder. I cannot wait to use this! I love body polishes and usually scrub up at least every
second day. I hate the thought of dead skin cells just sitting on the surface of my body, so I love to
scrub up from head to toe most days. ($20.00)

Martina Organics Oil Cleanser (30ml)
This is one of my favourite products in the whole box! If you watch my video above, when I first
tested it on my skin, I was surprised that it completely absorbed into my skin! It left no residue and
left my skin feeling really hydrated and soft.

It says to use with warm water and wash off. However I would happily use this to moisturise my dry
areas. This power oil does a lot - treats acne, clears out your pores, helps to reduce redness and
scarring, hydrates, removes excess makeup and sebum and of course cleanses the skin. ($29.00)

Linden Leaves Intensive Repair Eye Cream (15ml)
The ingredient list of this product is short and pure. I am so impressed with this and have already
began using it! With only organic white tea, melon extract, aloe vera, and echium seed oil listed in
this product, it is refreshing to find an effective eye product that is so natural with no chemicals.

Soothes, ageing and tired eyes. This sounds like me in a nut shell! Bring on the soothing please!
($45.00)

Antipodes Chia & Kiwi Seed Superfood Serum (30ml)
I have tried Antipodes products before and found them to be really lovely and I find droppers
and serums in general great. my skin loves them and responds well.

This product is meant to be super moisturising and full of all the good stuff your skin loves
like essential fatty acids, antioxidants, vitamins C & E and omega 3. ($49.00)

If you like what you see you can sign up for your very own Maslow & Co subscription either
bi-monthly at $44 per box or annually at $40 per box!

If you do feel like treating yourself to an annual subscription as my lovely readers you can use my
very special code CANDYFAIRY at checkout & you will also receive your very own NZ box as a
bonus! But be quick because this offer is only open until May 31st!

Stay tuned as I will also be reviewing for you Maslow & Co's next box which will be products from
the USA!

ABFE

~AUSTRALIAN BUSH FLOWER ESSENCES~
Love System
Woman Daily Essence Moisturiser
REVIEW!

http://www.ausflowers.com.au

Has anyone else begun to feel the chill of the crisp Winter air? For me it is already creeping into my
room and under the covers in the early hours of the AM and slightly waking me up in a dazed and
groggy state.

My skin has been on a great run over the past 6-9 months or so. Thanks mainly due to a great batch of
a range of different skincare products I have been testing out. Thankfully they have all seemed to
agree with me, which honestly makes it difficult to choose just one favourite.

One of those new favs to join my skincare club in my overflowing bathroom is this absolutely devine
daily essence moisturiser by Australian Bush Flower Essences. This can be used on your face, hands
and body and boasts a thick earthy bush scented white cream that absorbs within a few minutes and
has left my skin feeling loved and soft again after it being slightly dried out over the chilly nights.

I have been applying this to my face in the morning. Just a tiny amount and patting it gently into my
skin rather than rubbing it in for a more caring approach to my skin which also helps eliminate
causing damage and premature winkling and sagging to the skin by moving the skin around.

I would describe this as a thick, rich cream which is also quite heavily scented. However the scent
is fresh, earthy and slightly floral without the overpowering perfume kind of smell. It has more of a
natural strong aroma, as if you have just taken a deep breath out in a overgrown thick Australian
bush. Nourishes and rebalances the skin whilst working hard to improve the skin's texture and
smoothing out those pesky fine lines, which I have noticed this to have done the most noticeably on
the backs of my hands.

Contains bush essences of Billy Goat Plum, Bottlebrush, Bush Fuchsia, Crowea, Five Corners, Mulla
Mulla, Old Man Banksia, Peach-Flowers Tea-Tree, Pink Flannel Flower and She Oak.

Like all Love System products from Australian Bush Flower Essences. This Woman Daily Essence
Moisturiser can be purchased directly from their website for RRP $19.85

PHILOSOPHY

~  PHILOSOPHY  ~
Ultimate Miracle Worker
Skincare Range!

http://www.philosophyskincare.com.au

I had heard about philosophy as a brand and their products quite a bit over the past few years and as a beauty blogger have read a lot of reviews and heard a lot of positive thoughts and opinions about their products. However never got around to trying them as I usually just stick to the cheaper brands within my strict budget. However since having the opportunity to test out the new Ultimate Miracle Worker skincare range over the past 3 weeks with Beautyheaven I can see why these products have a premium price tag! The quality, results and luxury elegance of each specially formulated jar is extremely rich and worth every single application!

The day cream which contains an SPF 15 is gorgeously scented lightly with only the tiniest hint of an SPF related smell. It is white in appearance and medium thick. I found the multi-rejuvenating cream easy to quickly work into my skin each morning before applying makeup a minute or two after. This absorbs right in and doesn't leave my skin feeling as though the product is just sitting on the surface. It gives more of a softer feeling and healthy fresh, youthful glow.

The 60ml silver glass jar has a black screw top lid which is easy to open and closes securely. I have found the product has remained fresh and unchanged in colour or appearance and consistency over the trial period with the scent remaining the same.

In terms of seeing results of firmer skin, reduced pore size, more hydrated skin and fewer wrinkles. I can say my 'normal' skin does seem to be firmer and definitely more hydrated. I can feel a difference in the softness around my cheeks and neck. Overall my skin is looking and behaving amazing well since the beginning of using this product with zero pimples and blackheads which usually pop up every now and again on my skin. So I am thinking my pores may be slightly reduced in size aiding in the zero acne issue! I am 32 and don't have many winkles thankfully. Just a few small crows feet on the corner of my eyes. These seem to be reduced quite a bit as I have been using this product in conjunction with the Ultimate Miracle Worker Eye. (RRP $88.00)

Overall would highly recommend this product, brand and product range. It has worked for me!

-
Using philosophy's Ultimate Miracle Worker Eye along with the Ultimate Miracle Worker Day with SPF and Worker Night from the same range I have come to really enjoy and appreciate the results of using an eye cream in my skincare routine again as I have not done this is quite some time!

This 15ml round silver glass jar appears as a mini version of it's big sister the Ultimate Miracle Worker Day Cream. The cream however has a slightly more of an off white, cream tint to it that the whiter Day Cream. This has all you could ask for in a eye cream. From patented Bi-Retinol and Iris plant extracts to rejuvenate the skin on the surface. To the classic Caffeine and Vitamin C to aid in the skin's puffiness and dark circles under the eyes.

The cream is much the same consistency as the day cream being medium thick and absorbing in the same amount of time. (1-2 minutes max!)

Luckily my eyes only have a few little crows feet and don't often get puffy unless I wake up in the morning after only a few hours sleep which does happen from time to time with 2 toddlers. I don't have any dark circles so cannot comment on the effectiveness in that respect from this product. However my fine lines and overall eye area does appear much more as it did in my more youthful 20's. My fine lines are reduced so I am hopeful with continued future consistent use and sensible sun exposure my crows feet may become a distant memory. One can hope! :)

Overall I am very happy with this product. As with only needing the tiniest amount (l only needed HALF a pea size amount) per application I feel like this product is going to last me quite some time and in that regard in conjunction with seeing some pretty amazing results since the beginning of use three weeks ago, I can see how this warrants the scary price tag! (RRP $75.00)

-
Using this product along with the other's from the Ultimate Miracle Worker skincare range has been a lot of fun for me especially when it came to initially trying this Worker Night for the first time! philosophy have well thought out this product. Giving us a stronger unique night cream by combining the benefits of a rich night cream along with the anti ageing properties a facial serum gives.

To blend these two together philosophy gets us as consumers involved in the final process. In the box you find not only your 50ml black glass jar, additionally you will find a 10ml sealed packet of baby pink wet peals ready to be mixed in together with the small black spatula provided. This was one of my most favourite steps within the process of using this product.

Once mixed together the two ingredients blend together to form one power punching night cream! The pearls dissolve quite quickly and once done you can rest assured you are applying a fresh a batch of night cream as you'll ever get!

The scent of this is only light and is almost identically smelling as the Ultimate Miracle Day and Eye creams. I was surprised to find unlike most night creams I have ever used, the consistency within this jar was nowhere as thick as I was expecting as I am so used to night creams being thick. However this was more runny, even more so than the Day and Eye cream from this range. I don't believe this had anything negative to do with the formulation though as I have actually had amazing results using this whole trio of products.

I found this cream to absorb into my skin even more rapidly than the day and eye cream and felt the same soft, moisturised feeling left upon my skin. My skin is firmer, particularly round my eyes, neck and cheeks. Being in my early 30's I know my youthful appearance is only going to last so long and the clock is ticking loud and fast! Since seeing such satisfying and rapid results with these products I can't see myself turing back now and will continue to use these products to help maintain and improve my skin even further. (RRP $110.00)
