April Favourites 2014!

April Favourites 2014!

---

On oldie but a goodie!
I purchased this with my points from Beautorium on Beautyheaven.
Such a fantastic all rounder to have handy around the house, in the car and on the go!
Cleans just about anything and smells lovely too.
Nice and moist. Love these and highly recommend them!
Check out my complete haul here!

I have been busy this month creating a bunch of different looks
with items from the Scunci brand. Stay tuned in future blog posts!
I just love these no fuss basic hair ties and they have been a huge
part of my everyday hair routine this month.
I love them because they don't have any metal bits the snag the
hair on. They're the perfect colour for my dark hair and they are super strong!
See my How-To create the perfect hair bun post here!

Another hair tie fav would have to be these gorgeous ties from
Lady Jayne. Another fabulous item received with my Beautorium goodies,
only these were totally free! Happy days! 😊

Ever since I purchased this I have not stopped wearing it!
Such an amazing, bright, vibrant colour, I own
nothing else like it.
See what else I purchased during this shopping trip!

Recently hauled, hubby bought this sparkly little
'Gem' home for me after picking up a few groceries one night.
Totally in love with the gold and pink shimmery glitter.
Such a different mix of colours, totally loving it!

What were your April favs?

My Current Skincare Routine - Face & Body!

1. Palmolive Body Butter in Luscious Mango
This is my second bottle of this and I absolutely love it!
It smells like mango ice cream and is just as creamy!
A very thick formula that leaves my skin smelling super yummy and feeling extra soft.

Also onto my second tube, this daily wash keeps
my skin clean and clear without drying it out.
It's also super creamy in texture and doubles as a mask, awesome!

3. Avon Foot Works Cracked Heel Relief Cream
This is a product I've been using for many years and
it never fails to deliver. I often forget about my feet
and this quickly gets them back to looking like new!

4. Olay Oil Minimizing Toner
I received this in my Blogstar prize pack and this is a new
product for me. I've used a few Olay things before but never their toners.
I am quite enjoying this and will continue to use it and
probably purchase a replacement once it's run out.

5. Garnier Roll On For Eyes
This feels so good all around the eye area on the skin of course!
It feels cool and soothing, especially after a long day.
It is also wonderful at waking up tired and sleepy eyes.

6. Dove Foaming Makeup Remover
Good old Dove! I have been using Dove products
for as long as I've been using, well products!
This is gentle yet effective!
Watch my video review of this Makeup Remover here!

7. Lanolips Herbal Treatment Body Oil
This product is fantastic for super dry skin
as well as skin with scaring or stretch marks.
After 2 kids, my stomach sure has seen better days,
now if never sees the light of day as I
wouldn't want to scar anyone who saw it...
ahah, yeah get it, 'scar.'
Ahem, anyho, it has done a remarkable job so far at
at least minimising the angry red lines. So I'm a happy chappy! :)

8. Vaseline Hand & Nail Lotion
An oldie but a goodie!
You can count on Vaseline when it comes to any of their
products. I've found this one to be my favourite.
Does the job well and I will continue to use this I think forever.

9. Neutrogena Pore Refining Exfoliating Cleanser
Slowly getting through this product.
Lucky enough to trial this through Beautyheaven and
completely love it! My pores are one of my biggest pet peeves
and this has helped a great deal.
Watch my video review of this cleanser here!

10. Kora Organics Day & Night Creme
Just the smell of this product scream natural!
It is just divine and feels amazing on your skin.
I love this product so much! It is very pricey though,
I was lucky enough to nab it off OzSale for about half the price,
so I am trying to make it last.
Read my dedicated blog post review for this product here!

11. Nivea Pure & Natural Body Lotion
I have used quite a few of the products from this Pure & Natural range,
and absolutely can recommend them totally!
They just work and feel and smell great!

DIY - Simple Brush Holder

This idea made me look at my old candles just lying around in
a whole new way. I never noticed before what fantastic jars and mugs I
have just waiting to be de-potted, cleaned and transformed into
perfect little brush storage holders just like this one I created
pictured above!

-

This is a pretty straight forward how-to.
All you need to do is follow these 5 simple steps!

Step 1
If you have some old candles lying around, take notice of
what they're actually stored in.
Would this make a good brush holder or storage container?
(Mine was close to becoming my new favourite drinking glass,
but I wanted a brush holder more!)

Step 2
Use a blunt old kitchen knife or flat head screw driver
or simular to dig out the remaining and excess unwanted
candle and wax.
(I got a strong, male, adult (ie hubby) to help
as mine was stuck good and proper!) :/

Step 3
Give it a good clean with hot, soapy water.
You'd be surprised how good they polish up.
(Mine was all cloudy and black from the candle and smoke
residue and it came up a treat!)

Step 4
If you like the clear look as I do, pick out something you want to
help hold the brushes upright. I love these clear glass beads,
but you can use just about anything from rice (which you can use food colourings to make it match your decor or if you're bold, make it rainbow!), plastic beads
which come in an a thousand different and sizes, buttons, glitter, sequins, etc!

Step 5
Throw in as much of your chosen style of filling into your
jar/glass as you desire, then add in your makeup brushes!
(This can also work well to store stationary, pens, or even eyeliner
pencils and/or lipliners!)

Find a place to store them out in the open so you can admire
your handy little work of art anytime you like! :)

What has been your fav DIY creation?
I would love to see/read about it!

April Empties!

Products!
Schick Hydro Silk Razor Refill Blade
-
As mentioned in last month's empties post
I'm going through my razor blades more regularly
and loving this particular brand as it leaves my skin
feeling moisturised and really smooth.

Maybelline NY Super Stay 24hr Foundation
-
This is my favourite foundation at the moment. So I'm a bit sad to
see it go, but I have so many others all competing for their turn on
my face. I would repurchase this again and I look forward to using it in the
future as it is such a fantastic product!

Burts Bees Radiance Facial Cleanser
-
 I've really enjoyed using this.
See my dedicated blog post on this product here. :)

Johnsons Holiday Skin Daily Facial Moisturiser
-
I recently found this amongst my stash of endless moisturisers and thought since it's a relatively small sized product, I'd probably be successful is using it up quickly. So I'm not sure how old it is or if it's even still available to buy.
It is a gradual tanning moisturiser that I quite liked.  I haven't noticed
much of a difference in my skins shade becomming darker though.

Pantene Pro-V Daily Moisture Renewal Shampoo
-
My hair is often dry, especially toward the ends, so this has been nice
at adding some of that moisture back in. Has a pleasant smell as well.

Colgate Total Toothpaste
 -
Good flavour and very affordable.

Samples!

Avon Baby Moisturiser
Curash Soothing Oatmeal Moisturiser
Baby Organics Baby Moisturiser
Gaia Men's Shave Gel
Gaia Baby Moisturiser

Are you also trying to use up the excess products in your bathroom?
Stay tuned for next months empties post!

The Beauty Scenario Tag!

1. You have to get rid of all your foundations and you can only keep one high end and one drugstore, which do you keep?
If you've snooped around my makeup collection blog post or video, you'd know that believe it or not I don't actually own any high end foundations! I've just accumulated a bunch of drugstore brands that I feel work well enough for me, that I haven't felt the need to purchase an over priced one as yet, there are quite a few I'd like to try though, all in good time. :) So to answer this question, the one drugstore brand I would have to keep would be my Maybelline 24hr Super Stay Foundation which I've just about used up!

2. You go for an interview and the lady interviewing you has lipstick on her teeth. Do you approach the subject or ignore it completely?
I've had to think about how I would feel in the same situation. I don't think I'd want to be told, but rather find out afterwards, I think that would be less embarrassing. If it were a friend I'd tell them, but a stranger especially one interviewing me for a job would just be awkward and I'd rather focus on the task at hand, and that would be nailing that interview rather than straying from the critical topics we might be talking about.

3. You're not feeling yourself and need a pick me up. Which lipstick do you put on to make yourself feel beautiful?
I am in love with pretty much all of my lippies at the moment. Ever since I organized them, I am just so happy to open my draw and see them all sitting there waiting for their turn to be worn that day.... I am loving a hot pink or magenta shade at the moment, so I would probably grab for either my Australis Velour Matte Lip Cream in Ma-Li-Boo or my Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Sweetheart/Valentine.

4. You go back in time for a day to your teenage years, how would you do your hair and makeup differently?
Oh wow, do I really have to go back there?! I wish I'd known what a hair straightener was for a start! I feel like with my crazy, long, frizzy hair this really could've made so much difference! As far as makeup I wasn't allowed to wear it to school, although there were days.... gah! Let's not go there! Let's just say I wish I'd known then what I do now!

5. You ask your hairdresser for a shoulder length Pixie Lott hair cut, but they hear wrong and give you a pixi cut. Do you a) Smile, say thank you, leave and call your mum hysterical b) Cry in the chair and things get awkward or c) Complain to the manager and demand a refund.
This is a tough question because that is a haircut I would never get myself. But if I were in that kind of situation I would hope to be switched on enough during the whole process to say something whilst my hair is being cut if I see something that I don't think looks like what I'd asked for. I have had a really bad experience with a hair dresser once and not having the balls I have now, I just paid and left unhappy. Now a days I would complain and demand they fix it or I would not pay!

6. Your friend surprises you with a 4 day city break and you have 1 hour to pack. Which 'do it all' palette do you pack in your makeup bag?
Wow, wouldn't that be fun!? :) At the moment I am just keeping it pretty natural so I would just pack my Napoleon Perdis Jet Set Palette. It's amazing!

7. Your house has been robbed, don't worry everyone is safe, but your beauty stash has been raided. What's the product you really hope is safe?
Apart from everything?! 0_O I would hope my precious OPI nail polish collection were all still there. I've worked hard to collect what I have and I love every single one of them, although I feel like there are a few missing from this picture as my little miss likes to hide them on me, hence another reason I need one of those hanging nail polish racks!

8. Your friend borrows your makeup and returns it in awful condition. Do you a) Just pretend you haven't noticed b) Ask them to repurchase it or c) Secretly do the same to something of theirs.
I would probably asked good naturedly what happened to it, but I wouldn't be mad at a friend over makeup. My friendships mean much more to me than that.

My Haircare Routine!

1. L'Oreal Elvive Fibralogy Thickening Conditioner
I am currently trialling these as part of L'Oreal's trial team and I have to say
they are pretty nice products! My hair is naturally thick, but I still love the
idea of a thickening hair product as thick hair is always looks much more
voluminous and Victoria's Secret esk, and who doesn't want supermodel hair?!
This conditioner smells so nice and instantly smooths my hair as I use it in the
shower. Easily de-tangles my hair and leaves my hair super soft too!

2. TRESemme Split Remedy Leave In Conditioning Spray
I have been a big fan of Tresemme products for a long time!
So when I received this in my Blogstar prize pack I couldn't wait to try it!
My hair needs a lot of work. It isn't at all easy to manage nor does it ever behave
and allow me an easy good hair day. I need to work at it!
Having this leave in conditioning spray not only conditions my hair throughout
the day giving it extra much needed moisture, it also gives my hair that fresh just
washed smell that lasts all day.
Check out my thoughts on Tresemme's Split Remedy Shampoo & Conditioner here!

3. L'Oreal Elvive Fibralogy Thickening Treatment
As part of the L'Oreal trial team, I am also currently using this leave in
treatment serum which aids in the thickening hair process.

4. Batiste WILD Dry Shampoo
I have been using this for quite a few months now.
I even mentioned it in my January Favourites.
I am obviously a fan of great smelling hair products because this also
smells really good! Unlike a lot of dry shampoos, this is easily distributed
and soaks up any excess oil quickly and doesn't leave my hair looking grey or powdery.

5. Pantene Pro-V Ice Shine Daily Rince Off Treatment
As part of Beautyheaven's video trial team, I was able to give this a
go a few months ago and have been loving it ever since!
I have been really good lately using a treatment both in and out of the shower when
my hair is both wet and dry to really help maintain it's best health.
If you're after shiny, silky, soft hair then you better go get your hands on this one, it does
a brilliant job!
Watch my video review on the new Pantene Pro-V Ice Shine range here!

6. L'Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil
Out of all the hair products I am currently using in my routine, this is hands
down my absolute favourite and has been ever since I first started using it!
Nothing compares, this oil fixes any hair problem! Weather it's frizz,
dryness, fly aways, damage or weakness, you get instant results with this!
It isn't at all greasy nor does it give you an oily look. It simply soaks straight into
your hair and gives an amazing smoothing and shine effect. I cannot
recommend this highly enough!
Watch my video review on this Extraordinary Oil here!

7. L'Oreal Paris Elvive Fibralogy Thickening Shampoo
Just like it's pair, this shampoo smells so so good!
Not overpowering, but enough to give you that salon feel.
I am still in the middle of trialling these products, but so far I am starting
to notice the thickening effect slightly. My hair being naturally thick, is becoming
more apparent and defined in appearance and also feels a bit thicker too.
What I am noticing most though it how good my hair is smelling and how smooth it feels
during and after I've washed it.

#hairselfie :)

I Won Some Lush!

I have something to confess. I am addicted to entering competitions. I have slowed down quite a lot of late. Concentrating my spare time more on this blog and other more important things, like cleaning the house, etc... One of the quickest and easiest ways to find and keep up to date with brands, people and products is through one of my favourite social media sites. Instagram.

Recently I was lucky enough to win a Bunty Gift Pack by Lush from a competition held by Chanelkxo in collaboration with Lush_ausnz on Instagram. Today it finally arrived and I am so excited to try everything and share them with you as Lush is up there as one of my absolute favourite beauty brands! :)

Inside the box is as follows!

Think Pink Bath Ballistic
This appears scarcely like the pic in the catalogue.
It is suppose to be much more of a magenta pink
with 3 flowers, not 1....maybe they're just buried inside
there somewhere.

Space Girl Bath Ballistic

Mini Comforter Bubble Bar

Creamy Candy Bubble Bar
The Catalogue shows this to have some kind of flower in it but I guess
mine either missed out or its buried somewhere inside...?

They all smell incredible and strong!
I cannot wait to use them all!

:)

What are your favourite products from Lush?
Have you tried any of these from the Bunty Box?

Thank you for reading! xo

Beautyheaven Beautorium Haul April 2014!

Yep, it's that time of the year again BEAUTORIUM!!!

Beautorium is an event held by Beautyheaven where if you're
an active member on the site, you can redeem your points earned by commenting and reviewing, etc for FREE beauty products!!!
It doesn't get much better than that!

I have participated many times before, in fact I've not missed a single one,
completely blowing pretty much all of my points each time. But so worth it for the small postage fee.

My order arrived much quicker than I anticipated, so here it is!

I ordered 10 products all together.
I am most excited about the CleverWhite Dissolving Whitening Strips,
Which was my biggest splurge.

1. WetOnes Antibacterial Hand & Body Wipes 80pk

7. Face Of Australia Liquid Liner in Black
8. Mode Nail Polish in Babe'n (Pink)
9. Mode NAIL Polish in Lust Lovin' (Orange)
10. CleverWhite Dissolving Whitening Strips

I have now realized unless there is a product up for grabs that I just can't live without, then I should probably hold off on making a Beautorium order until it's been open for about a week as this time around all of the products that I ordered above are currently still available but have been reduced by 25%!
Oh man!
But still, a total bargain and BH are even generous enough to pop in a bunch of freebies with each order.

The freebies I received with my order below!

1. Lady Jayne Hair Ties (New Digital Romance Collection)
2. Manicare Glameyes Miranda Lashes
3. Vagisil Feminine Wash 60ml

You Glitter Be Good To Me!
-
OPI

I recently picked this up at the bargain price of just 6 bucks from
The Reject Shop! Offer ends April 20, so be quick! :)

Looks as though they aren't offering a wide range of shades, but I still think it's worth checking out,
especially if you're an OPI lover and collector as I am. :)
