BOURJOIS PARIS

Healthy Mix Foundation & Concealer
(New Formula!)

Review!

I have recently been trying out this foundation and concealer in the Bourjois new and improved "Healthy Mix" anti-fatigue formulation for everyday use for a few months now. I have never used a Bourjois foundation or concealer before however I have heard a lot of hype and positive reviews on the original formula of this foundation over the years so I was very keen to
get starting using this!
I have the foundation shade in number #52-Vanilla which is a pretty good match for my skin tone. I feel like I could maybe go one or even just half a shade darker though because this foundation is quite light on the coverage and this shade is quite light in shade as well. I tend to mix it with one of my other darker foundations in the meantime and it seems to be working well enough. :)
The pump style bottle is one of my favs in terms of foundation bottle designs. It is the easiest and quickest way to use foundation and minimises the mess and excess product wastage as well. The finish has a nice dewy glow without being too shiny and lasts throughout the day really well even though the coverage is on the lighter side.
I am sometimes off at work for up to ten hours a day at the moment and this still looks alright when I get home at night!
If your skin usually gets a bit oily though out the day then I would suggest you might need touching up with some power or blotting papers throughout the day, otherwise you should be alright.
When a foundation does more than just cover my face like this one going the extra mile with it's "mix" of vitamins including C, E and B5 than that's a great bonus and makes me feel good wearing it!
If you're after a light weight everyday foundation in both feeling and coverage that looks youthful, glowy and natural than this one might be for you. In my opinion I think this would make a great first foundation for young girls or for those who like to keep it natural, light and simple for day to day use.

This concealer is also quite light coverage in terms of hiding blemishes and pores. It does highlight well especially under the eyes though and makes a good contouring highlight without the shiny sparkle of some illuminators which when you're going for a fuss free everyday work look you don't really want.
I have this in the shade number #51-Clair Light. This matches well with the foundation above, again perfect for those with very light skin tones. If I purchased this in the future I would go one darker with the foundation, but stay with this concealer shade.
The packaging is simple, clean and easy to use. The formula isn't too thick or runny, but just the right consistency to apply and blend with the doe foot applicator.
Overall I would say this is a good budget friendly, day to day concealer which would be ideal for those with good skin without many flaws as it is too light to cover big blemishes, pores or dark circles. A fair price though and a product which I am happy to continue to use on a day to day basis for work, running errands on the weekends and spending time with the kids.
Together this due is nice and simple. It doesn't appear cakey or heavy and lasts throughout my long days as a working mum.

RIMMEL LONDON

RIMMEL LONDON

NEW!
Wake Me Up Foundation & Concealer!

Let's be honest, putting on my makeup each morning is one of the highlights of my busy day. It's a
few minutes each day where it's all about me. I like to take this time to relax and enjoy the process of
pampering, thinking about the day ahead, getting my thoughts together as I wake up. It's really quite
therapeutic for me.

Rimmel London's classic Wake Me Up foundation has recently undergone a makeover and I have
found myself reaching for it over all of my other foundations every single day over the past month
or so that I have just about finished them up!

Rimmel London Wake Me Up Foundation - Fine shimmer particles visible through the bottle!
(Purrdy!)

I will begin with the foundation which contains Vitamin C, SPF 20 as well as some hella beautiful
radiance pearls mixed inside it! It comes in six shade varieties - (Ivory, True Ivory, Soft Beige,
Classic Beige, True Nude and Natural Beige), an easy to use pump style clear glass bottle and
promises a radiant glow to the skin making it appear more awake and anti-fatigued.

The formula is a good consistency being not too thick now runny. It just sits on the back of my hand
when I pump it out and doesn't drip or begin running down my arm before I can get a makeup brush
onto it! It blends easily and smooth on my skin. It covers my pores, however not my larger ones and
you can still see a little acne scaring after application. So I would say this foundation gives about a
medium coverage. It does look super flattering, natural and dewy though and does an impressive job
at lasting all day! Honestly, this is one of the best foundations I have found in terms of being long
lasting. It stays put amazingly well even on my longer 7am-5pm work days.

Rimmel London Wake Me up Foundation & Concealer Swatched!
(Left - Concealer / Right - Foundation)

The contrast between the swatches of the above foundation and concealer is appearing much more
dramatic than it actually is in real life. My skin is not fair, but still quite light. What you can see in
the image with the shimmer in it is much more it's true to life shade. But anyway, let's get talking
about the new Wake Me Up Concealer!

Available in just three shades - Ivory, Classic Beige and Soft Beige. I would like to see a wider
variety of shades available, however the lightest Ivory shade does get the job done for me.

The consistency is only just slightly thicker than the foundation and conceals any redness, veins,
small blemishes and pores well. It is smooth and blends with ease. I have enjoyed using this duo
together as they seem to compliment each other well with their fatigue concealing and illuminating
glow particles.

You can find Rimmel London's new Wake Me Up Foundation & Concealer and the rest of the
Rimmel range from your local Priceline, Chemist Warehouse, Big W, Coles, Target and
Woolworths.

BOE

~  BOE PROFESSIONAL  ~

PRO FINISH BASE PRODUCTS!

BB Cream and Concealer in Medium
This handy 2 in 1 product is so convenient to have in your makeup bag because it doesn't take up as
much room as two products PLUS is contains a sneaky little mirror inside the cap which also saves you
even more room because you're not also having to carry around a compact mirror. So really this is kind
of a 3 in 1 product!

When I received this in the shade Medium I was a little worried because usually in almost all kinds of
makeup products I always go for light or close to that. However when I swatched this and then blended
it into my hand it didn't appear as dark as I had imagined it would be so relief set in. Once applied to my
face it was actually a pretty close to perfect colour match! The BB Cream which is the bulk of the
product which is contained in the tube goes a long (and I mean looong) way! You only need smaller
than a pea size amount of product to cover your whole face which gives you a light coverage with all
of the benefits of a BB Cream. (Moisturising, skin perfecting, priming, smoothing, concealing and
evening.)

The concealer which is ironically concealed in the product's cap is there handy and ready to use so you
don't have to go digging through your makeup bag to find it. This concealer is super thick but blends
easily and does a pretty good job at hiding any spots or redness. Similar to the BB Cream, initially it
appears a bit orange when first applied but don't worry once it is all blended in it looks just like your
skin colour. Or it did for me at least, phew! :)

Available in Fair, Medium & Medium Deep
RRP: $12.95

Eye Brightener Pen
This is the first eye brightening pen I have ever used. I have used under eye concealers in the past and
most have worked great, however I am in love with the illuminating effect this particular product gives.
I often have late nights as a mum of two toddles, plus working on my blog and Youtube channel and it
doesn't stop there! My husband and I also run our own business so things are always super busy and we
are always staying up late working together to make sure things get done. Needless to say I don't always
look bright and wide eyed in the morning or during the day for that matter and I'm not ashamed to admit
I need a bit of help and products like this one make an amazing difference!

Same as the BB Cream, a little goes a super long way with this Corrector Pen!  RRP: $9.95

I am lucky that my eyes don't get too dark underneath them, however you can tell when I haven't had
enough sleep and since using this pen it really does conceal the slight purple tint and when used on
the lid of my eyes it also hides any veins showing through the thin skin on that delicate area.
Another great trick is to use a tiny spot of this blended on the inner corner of your eyes to really help to
open them up so they appear slightly larger. This is a step which helps me out a lot as my eyes are not
naturally as large as I would like.

High Definition Finishing Powder
I have to admit I have been pretty hopeless when it comes to finishing powders and makeup setting
products in the past. I just haven't been bothered to use them. Boy have I been missing out!

RRP: $9.95

Designed to create camera ready skin, I only wish I'd started using this years ago when I first began
making Youtube videos and continued through until now as you really can see the difference it makes
to your skin. It completely soaks up any oiliness without looking like I have dry skin. The formulation
doesn't cake or set into your creases or pores, it just makes everything look smoother and even so the
best version of you can really shine through. I LOVE this stuff!

ECOTOOLS

~  ECO TOOLS  ~

Fresh & Flawless

5 Piece Complexion Set!

I have been needing to invest in a good set of make-up brushes for a long time. I did purchase
a mini travel set of 3 Real Techniques brushes a little while ago, and although they are amazing
and I love and use them almost daily, they are mini and I wanted ones with a longer handle!

I'd always heard good things about Eco Tools, particularly their make-up brushes so naturally
I had to find out how amazing these were for myself! ;)

I hopped onto iHerb to see what was available and that is when this colourful set caught my
eye and I knew I just had to have them, they are perfect!

These brushes are made from bamboo in the handles and they are completely cruelty free which I
100% back and admire! The bristles are so soft and smooth and already I have noticed a difference
in the appearance of my make-up when applied using these. They are super easy to use and have
made my life much easier of late. Now I have a brush for everything and I love that because it's
helping me to improve my make-up applying techniques!

The fibres do not leave any steaks along your skin and they're so firmly embedded in the brush
that I haven't seen a single hair fall out onto my face or even look like coming loose. They are
locked in there tight! Brilliant!

Left to right - Full Powder Brush, Complexion Blending Brush, Precision Foundation Brush,
Buffing Concealer Brush & Flat Concealer Brush.

I do love to have my brushes out where I can quickly and easily reach for and use them each day,
however I love how they came stored so neatly like this. Good to keep for travelling or
to store to prolong their longevity perhaps?

What make-up brushes do you swear by?
