RIMMEL LONDON EYES

RIMMEL LONDON
ALL ABOUT THE EYES!

Who doesn't just love new makeup? With so many brands releasing so many new products all of the
time it can become overwhelming and difficult to keep up and decide what the purchase and what to
give a miss.

Luckily there are plenty of bloggers and vloggers like myself all over the world wide web to at least
give you our honest opinions and demos so you can decide for yourself what you think before you
even see them in the shops!

This time around I have four newbies from Rimmel London. One unique mascara and three liquid
eye liners. It's all about the eyes, the windows to the soul today! :)

First up is this Volume Colourist mascara which claims to tint and darken your lashes over time. So
each time you wear it the clever little formulation which sits on your lashes is working it's way into
them making them darker and darker the more you wear it. In a way this is kind of a negative for this
product as if everyone who tries it ends up loving it will no longer need it in the end and will not need
to re-purchase... interesting!

As you can see from my eye images below, my eyelashes as I have mentioned many times before are
nothing to brag about. They aren't all that light in colour, but there aren't really a lot of them and they
are not very long. Boo to my DNA! :( However this mascara does lengthen them a bit, not as much as
some others I have in rotation, but this mascara is all about the volume and tinting!

I'll let you be the judge. Here is my take on it. I can see the formula is quite thick and has in turn
fattened up them up giving them volume. However it appears from this close up that it does clump
a little bit and make my lashes stick to each other rather than separating. This picture was taken
before combing them out, so I feel like they appeared a bit better after doing so.

In terms of tinting my lashes, I have been using this mascara for over a month and I am pretty sure I
can see a slight colour change, however it isn't obvious and I still just prefer the look mascara gives in
general and I think I am just going to keep on wearing them, this one included until it runs dry.

Onto some new favourites! These new Colour Precise liquid eyeliners come in the three shades you
see below. Black, white and blue! I wear black liquid eyeliner all the time as my go-to fav I am
always reaching for it and I am loving this newbie! The colour is deep and intense, but what makes
me the most excited is the super fine tip. Just like a fine tip texta, this design makes it SO easy to
draw a super thin line giving you complete control to then build upon it as thick as you like. The tip
won't stab you and is in no way hard or scratchy. It's actually quite soft yet still firm enough so it isn't
flimsy when you use it.

The bold blue shade is just beautiful and incredibly pigmented! It gives an amazing pop of colour on
more daring days or special occasions. I just love how it draws attention to the eyes and brightens up
and seems to give life to my otherwise sometimes dull looking boring brown eyes.

When it came to using the white, I was a bit lost as to where and how to use it. I mean I have a white
pencil liner which I use every now and again along my bottom lash line for that wide eyed doll effect.
However the liquid formula is a whole other ball game!

After some browsing around the web it seemed to me this would be a great product for makeup
artists to have in their kit for those cut crease and fancy runway looks they so cleverly create. I on
the other hand am no makeup artist, I am very amateur when it comes to makeup artistry no matter
how much knowledge I have about the actual products, which I seem to know a lot about.
(Because I am makeup obsessed, obviously!)

So as you can see below, I ended up using the white along the top of the blue, which actually turned
out looking quite striking in real life. Does it look that way here? It's hard to tell. I like it anyway.
It did not however work on my bottom lash line, like how I usually use my white eye pencil, but
I may just have been doing it wrong.

The black on the right is a sure fire winner. An old classic look which I always go for and never fails
me. Loving these pens! I have been using them for probably about a month and none of them are
showing any signs of drying out yet which is awesome!! In the past I have found this style of liquid
eyeliner to not last very long, so I am very happy thus far. :)

These and all Rimmel London products can be found in Priceline, Coles, Woolies, Big W, Target
and Chemist Warehouse.

JANUARY EMPTIES

January Empties!

Previous Months - January / February / March / April / May / June / July / August / September / October / November / December

So here we are, another year gone & the first month already done & dusted!
Can you believe it? Let's take a look into my binned things for January...

~ HAIR ~

Puretopia Moisture Repair Nourishing & Strengthening Shampoo
This was a refreshing change to my regular hair care products. Highly recommend this one.
Full review can be found here. :)

VO5 Anti Frizz Leave-in Conditioner
This was alright. Tamed my frizzy hair a little bit. Don't think you can still get this anymore?
Had this product sitting around for ages!

VO5 Silky Smooth Silk Serum
Same with this product. Had it for forever and FINALLY used it all up. Note to self - Serums take
a long time to use, so don't go buying so many you dork!!!

~ BODY ~

Colgate Max White One Mouth Wash
Super, amazing, great, loved it! I have been using heaps of teeth whitening products this past
year and finally, I think my teeth are a little bit whiter. I have products like this one to thanks for that!

Palmolive Foaming Nourishing Hand Wash in Raspberry
Will never stop buying this! Smells gorgeous and foams up straight out of the pump which the kids
love!

Vagisil pH Plus Intimate Wash
Thank you to the lovely Livia from her blog for this as I won it from her giveaway a little while ago.
I just used this as an all over body wash. It also makes great bubbles in the bath! :)

~ SAMPLES ~

PureTan Pure Bronze Dark Tanning
This was way too dark for my skin, however I still really enjoyed using it and the formula was good.
I have been tanning heaps lately so it was nice to try something new. Thanks to BH for including this

Carol's Beauty Sun Tanning Enhancer Lotion
This is quite an oily formula, however really nice to use. I have been using this along with this
Carol's Beauty Tan Enhancing Oil in my everyday tanning routine to help prolong my fake tan.
It is also super moisturising!

Carol's Beauty Sun Tanning Enhancer Oil
Again, really enjoyed using this over my fake baked skin. There are just the small bottles, there are
also full size ones available which I have reviewed here. :)

Vagisil Fresh Plus Intimate Wash
Another sample of the Vagisil, I cannot recall exactly where it came from, however I am thinking it
may have been from a recent Elle or Cosmo mag? hmm..

Schick Hydro Silk Razor Re-Fill
This is an old favourite which I have been using for years. Does a great job, however isn't my
absolute fav. That crown goes to the Schick Intuition, hands down!

Arbonne Skincare Samples
Dug these out of my Doll Connection blog event goodie bag recently and decided to see how they'd
go. Pretty nice products actually, although a bit on the pricer side.

THE DOLL CONNECTION

~  The Doll Connection  ~
Blogger/Vlogger Event
#thedollconnection

Blogger events in Australia seem to be growing as the world of beauty, fashion & lifestyle
blogging and vlogging grow at a rapid rate. Since beginning my Youtube channel way back in
2010 I have seen the handful of #beautyguru's expand from what only felt like the US in the
beginning to now having quite a few big names right here at home in Oz.

The Doll Connection was held here in Brisbane yesterday on the 24th of October at The Stock
Exchange Hotel in the city which I had never been before and was also very keen to head from the
south side over to the city for the day as I don't often get the chance to and I LOVE THE CITY! :)

Since this was my first time attending a blogger event and not ever having met any of the other
beauties attending in real life my anxiety was on a high note but I still really wanted to go to network
and meet many of the beautiful and talented ladies whom I have connected with online, but never in
the flesh. So a big massive 'Thank you!' goes out to my fellow blogging sis who agreed to come along
to keep me company and she said she ended up having a great time and she even won a prize! (A
huge basket of goodies from Harvest Garden!).
Me & my sis! #besties

My sister's generous gift basket of goodies she won from The Harvest Garden!

The brands who attended the event included -
V10 Plus, Wardrobe Warriors, Arbonne, BotanicES, The Harvest Garden, Sunsense, Cocosun.....
The ladies from Cocosun!                                       Me with the gorgeous Rhiannon from Arbonne!

Additional brands/companies who donated product for goodie bags/prizes included -
Lush, Benefit Cosmetics, Tanezze Australia, Mr.Blanc, Hydralyte, Summer Salt Body, Kosmea
Australia, Beginning Boutique, Plunkett, Eye Of Horus, Scunci, VS Sassoon, Furless, People For
Plants, Sukin, Apollo's Day Spa, NYX, Rimmel London, People For Plants, Pukka Teas....

So many amazing companies to meet, learn about and try their products!
I was especially excited to actually meet the lovely people from both BotanicES & The Harvest
Garden to whom I have recently been working with. :)
Meeting the very lovely Christelle from BotanicES!           The Harvest Garden's delicious display!

I feel so lucky with the gigantic goodie bag and all the goodies we received!
Here is a pic of everything I lugged back to the car with me!
Goodie bag haul video coming soon! :)

I was lucky enough to win a few super fun prizes as well! :)

And of course getting out of my comfort zone (I am naturally very shy!) and making sure I made
a big effort to meet, chat and take selfies with as many attendees as possible. Unfortunitely I didn't
get pix with everyone I met (next time!) and I cannot wait to catch up with so many of them again!
From top left to bottom right - Celiaspainmua, Rachelleea, DaniTheGirl_xo,
BrittanyJones, Kels_Sarah, Pynkbunnyy & A Bella Adventure!

Have you ever attended a blogger/vlogger event?
Were you at The Doll Connection yesterday?

BOE

~  BOE PROFESSIONAL  ~

PRO FINISH BASE PRODUCTS!

BB Cream and Concealer in Medium
This handy 2 in 1 product is so convenient to have in your makeup bag because it doesn't take up as
much room as two products PLUS is contains a sneaky little mirror inside the cap which also saves you
even more room because you're not also having to carry around a compact mirror. So really this is kind
of a 3 in 1 product!

When I received this in the shade Medium I was a little worried because usually in almost all kinds of
makeup products I always go for light or close to that. However when I swatched this and then blended
it into my hand it didn't appear as dark as I had imagined it would be so relief set in. Once applied to my
face it was actually a pretty close to perfect colour match! The BB Cream which is the bulk of the
product which is contained in the tube goes a long (and I mean looong) way! You only need smaller
than a pea size amount of product to cover your whole face which gives you a light coverage with all
of the benefits of a BB Cream. (Moisturising, skin perfecting, priming, smoothing, concealing and
evening.)

The concealer which is ironically concealed in the product's cap is there handy and ready to use so you
don't have to go digging through your makeup bag to find it. This concealer is super thick but blends
easily and does a pretty good job at hiding any spots or redness. Similar to the BB Cream, initially it
appears a bit orange when first applied but don't worry once it is all blended in it looks just like your
skin colour. Or it did for me at least, phew! :)

Available in Fair, Medium & Medium Deep
RRP: $12.95

Eye Brightener Pen
This is the first eye brightening pen I have ever used. I have used under eye concealers in the past and
most have worked great, however I am in love with the illuminating effect this particular product gives.
I often have late nights as a mum of two toddles, plus working on my blog and Youtube channel and it
doesn't stop there! My husband and I also run our own business so things are always super busy and we
are always staying up late working together to make sure things get done. Needless to say I don't always
look bright and wide eyed in the morning or during the day for that matter and I'm not ashamed to admit
I need a bit of help and products like this one make an amazing difference!

Same as the BB Cream, a little goes a super long way with this Corrector Pen!  RRP: $9.95

I am lucky that my eyes don't get too dark underneath them, however you can tell when I haven't had
enough sleep and since using this pen it really does conceal the slight purple tint and when used on
the lid of my eyes it also hides any veins showing through the thin skin on that delicate area.
Another great trick is to use a tiny spot of this blended on the inner corner of your eyes to really help to
open them up so they appear slightly larger. This is a step which helps me out a lot as my eyes are not
naturally as large as I would like.

High Definition Finishing Powder
I have to admit I have been pretty hopeless when it comes to finishing powders and makeup setting
products in the past. I just haven't been bothered to use them. Boy have I been missing out!

RRP: $9.95

Designed to create camera ready skin, I only wish I'd started using this years ago when I first began
making Youtube videos and continued through until now as you really can see the difference it makes
to your skin. It completely soaks up any oiliness without looking like I have dry skin. The formulation
doesn't cake or set into your creases or pores, it just makes everything look smoother and even so the
best version of you can really shine through. I LOVE this stuff!

ANTIPODES

~  ANTIPODES  ~
Scientific Organic Beauty!

You know how I love my beauty cuboard to be overflowing with different brands, products and
options to change up my skincare routine at a moments notice. Hey, a woman has the right to
change her mind whenever she wants, am I right ladies?! ;)

So here I am with another exciting and beautiful brand and two of their products I have chosen to
use to shake up my regular skincare routine of late. Two products which I am proud to use, own
and now share with you as I feel like these deserve some pretty high praise!

Antipodes - Reincarnation Pure Facial Exfoliator
I have mentioned before that I am one of those women who loves exfoliating and will use just
about any type of scrub I can get a hold of because I just love the feeling of freshly scrubbed, smooth
and rejuvenated skin after having scubbed away all of those dead skin cells which build up daily!
So you can imagine how your skin would look and feel if you skipped this vital step in
your skincare routine. Likely, rough, dry and looking uneven and generally dull and unhealthy,
even though there is fresh, new skin just under the surface just dying to shine through.

This particular exfoliator is exceptionally lovely to use because it is super thick in consistancy as
you can see from my swatch below. The thick white cream is a mixture of caring, organic
ingredients including - Avocado Oil, Marigold Flower Oil, Carrot Seed Extract & Cedarwood
and Sweet Orange Essential Oils. These combined not only smell amazing with the sweet
orange being the dominant flavour, it feels incredibly good on your skin. The super fine grains
feel almost like sand, yet more ground down so it is extra gentle but still highly effective.

Toners are an absolute must have for my skin. I have oversized pores which annoy the crap out of
me and I have always found toners to work wonders at not only deeply cleansing the gunk out of
them but also do an exceptional job at tightening them up and shrinking them when used regularly.

Over the years as new brands and companies have released a broad array of toner types, many
have begun to learn toward the natural, organic and more natural route. This is one of the reasons
why I am so fond of Antipodes and this product especially because it is doing the job and doing it
gently, effectively and without stipping or damaging my skin in the long run.

It is no suprise this product has been a previous winner in Harper's Bazaar's Beauty Awards.
With ingredients including - Natural minerals found in 15,000 year old Walwera artesian water
found in New Zealand, (Wow, impressive!) Omega, Raspberry Seed Extract, Aloe Vera, Anti-
inflemmatory Marshmellow, (Yum!) Mamaku Black Fern, Bulgarian Rose Oil as well as the
juice from thousands of hand picked roses, this product has me hooked, line and sinker!

Usually I find spray toners to be a hugely refreshing pick me up in the Summer months when it
is super humid, however I have found this to also be the perfect wake up call in the mornings after
cleansing before moisturising to really wake up my face and ignite my scenses. It feels soothing,
refreshing, cool and really adds to lost moisture back into my skin.

Have you tried anything from this brand?
Throw me your recommendations below!

JUNE EMPTIES

~   JUNE EMPTIES   ~

It's that time of the month again! Empties time! That satisfying feeling when you get to throw away
your month's worth of beauty trash and start again for the following month, hopefully popping open
some newbies and finishing off some more not so newies along the way!

This past months stash of empties is definitely significantly smaller than my last few.
I am pretty sure I have finished off just about all of my 'almost empty' products and am now working
through those larger full size bottles which are going to take me some time to get through.
All good fun though! :)

I still feel like I worked through quite a bit this month so let sort through the mess!

Dental/Body Care
Colgate Optic White Express White Toothpaste (Full Size)
I am pretty sure I also used up one of these last month. We somehow managed to have two open at
the same time and this is the second tube used up. Hubby and I share our toothpaste and I guess
together we get through a lot of it! :D
Clever White Dissolving Whitening Strips x2 (Full Size)
I somehow only manage to get through one set of these per month. I just honestly can't get into them.
I really want whiter teeth, but these just feel icky. I don't like them. They say you can just put them
on and go about your day, but I find it works better for me to put them on and then shower so
as they start to get gluggy in my mouth I can just brush my teeth and spit the rest out. I
don't know how they expect you to just go about your day and swallow as they dissolve. Ew!
Schick Intuition Disposible Razor Refil Blade (Full Size) (Review!)
Have been using this razor blade for ages now and still love it. This is my most favourite razor
and highly recommend trying it! The moisture block is genious!

Facial Cleansing & Care
Avon Clear Skin Blemish Clearing Foaming Cleanser (Full Size)
I have lost count of how many bottles of this I have used and I still have a few back ups!
It works so well though. I never have a single zit if I use this twice a day. Highly recommended if
you suffer from acne. It's really cheap too, only a few bucks. My mum keeps sending it to me at xmas...
Lab Series Multi-Action Face Wash (Sample)
A random sample I found amongst my husbands stash of products he will never use, so I took it
upon myself to get rid of it and make some space. From memory as I finished this up really early in
the month, I think it was actually a scrub and worked quite well. I love scrubs and this one had that
potent man smell to it. Definitely a man product!
Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula Multi-Effect Perfecting Facial Oil (Sample)
This product reminds me a bit of Bio Oil. It does pretty much the same thing. I used it on my face as
well as my stomach where I will give anything a go to aid in my stretch marks in that area. It was
really nice actually and I will be looking into purchasing the full size version.

Hair Care
Goldwell Kerasilk Ultra Rich Shampoo (Sample)
Goldwell Kerasilk Ultra Rich Conditioner (Sample)
I somehow ended up with another set of these bottles as I have previously used sample sizes of these
shampoo & conditioner before. They are quite nice. Nothing stood out about them though.
Al'chemy' Lavender & Anthyliss Leave In Conditioner (Sample)
Beautiful product and brand. Use sparingly because that is all your hair will need. It is highly
moisturising and if you use too much your hair will feel greasy and dirty. This sample lasted me a
good 4 washes!
Aveda Damage Remedy Intensive Restructuring Treatment (Sample)
This came in my recent limited edition Bellabox. (Blog post here or you can watch my unboxing
video here.) This is not the first time I have recieved this sample and it is quite nice. A much
needed treat for my slightly stressed out hair.

Body/Facial Moisturisers
Elizabeth Arden Pretty Body Lotion (Full Size)
Smells divine! I have the matching perfume as well which is equally lovely.
Paris Hilton CanCan Body Lotion (Full Size)
Smells really nice. I probably wouldn't purchase again just because there are so many other options
out there and I don't think I will live long enough to try them all.
SugarBaby Frangipani Deluxe Hand Creme (Full Size)
This was one of my most favourite hand cremes. The packaging first of all is so bright and happy!
It also smells delicious and it's just a really cute product and made my hands feel nice. :)
Kosmea Certified Organic Rose Hip Oil (Sample)
Recently sent this by Beautyheaven in a sample pack I won. (Full review of what I got here.)
And I adore this Rose Hip Oil. It is probably the best one I have tried in terms of quick results.
Highly recommend trying if you have stretch marks or scaring.
Dr.LeWinns Day Cream Moisturiser (Sample)
This was also in my Beautyheaven sample pack. Have tried this previously and really enjoyed it.
A nice thick cream, but not too thick and isn't at all greasy. It's like non greasy butter. Feels like
heaven on the skin.

Make-Up
L'Oreal Paris True Match Foundation in Golden Beige (Sample)
Loved this! On my list to purchase once I finished up my 5,000 other bottles of foundation.... or sooner. ;)
I actually really love this primer now. If you watch my review (linked above) you will see me talking
about how I didn't like it. That was me after only using it a short time. Now that I have been using
this for years, I have grown to really love it! Worked brilliantly!

 Overview!
Monthly Tally = x6 Full Size & x12 Samples
Yearly Tally = x73 Full Size & x114 Samples

The Mess = Buh-Bye! :)
Can't wait to try lots of new stuff in July!

How much beauty trash did you get through this month?
Did we use up any of the same products?
