RIMMEL LONDON #INSTA MAKEUP

RIMMEL LONDON

NEW RANGE OF #INSTA MAKEUP!

Well, doesn't it seem like Rimmel have gone above and beyond this year with all of the fab new
products? I feel like I own just about every Rimmel London product out there and I use this brand
more than any other, really I do!

I honestly think they are one of the top drugstore makeup brands and have even dedicated one of my
videos showing you my makeup using just their products alone! Check it out here!

When it comes to doing my makeup, I have yet to get it perfect, but I have learned a lot over the
years and one of the most important lessons I now swear by is to get your base right! This begins
with your general health and skincare regime, but then it begins with a good makeup base. Get
that down pat and you'll be looking #Insta selfie flawless in no time!

Now this here is the kind of powder I have been searching for! I wear makeup almost everyday for
work and most of the time it can sit on my face for up to 10+ hours. My face isn't overly oily, but it
certainly isn't dry in the slightest either. By about the middle of the day my face naturally starts to get
that sheen and oil begins to build up on my t-zone.

This powder is sooo good to take with me on long days at work so I can touch up around mid
afternoon when you can really begin to see the shine coming through my makeup, ew! The snap
lock lid makes it really secure in my handbag and I just pack a little mini powder brush with me to
use with it. Works a treat and apparently you can also use this without makeup to soak up any excess
oil throughout the day. Pretty cool I say!

Rimmel London #Insta Conceal & Contour

These three shades from lightest to darkest are named - Highlight Illuminer, Conceal Corriger and
Contour Sculpter. "Conceal" and "Sculpter" yes, however I don't really see the lightest shade doing
much highlighting or illuminating. It is more of a light bronze/contour shade in my opinion. It doesn't
have any shimmer or glow to it at all and appears quite a few shades darker than my natural skin tone
so for me it's more of a shade to sculpt and define my features more than illuminating them.

The middle shade appears more of a skin toned colour as opposed to the first shade on the left which
has more of a bronze tone to it. This middle shade also seems lighter than the first and is very close to
my own skin colour. I have just been using this as an eyeshadow base which works pretty good
actually as I can't seem to use it for anything else.

The darkest shade is where we get to have some fun! It is a great shade for contouring and sculpting.
It similar to the Benefit Hoola in cream form.

Rimmel London #Insta Conceal & Correct

The three shades from this trio from left to right are called - Dark Circles Cernes, Redness Rougeurs
and Dullness Teint Terne. Honestly, I haven't had a a lot of experience playing with correcting
makeup. I am pretty lucky that my skin has been pretty good to me apart from a bit of acne which
seems to have finally settled down over the past few years.

But what do you do when you have something new to try? You give it a good cracker of a go of
course, why not!?

The first shade is a peachy pink which works to conceal dark under eye circles. I don't really get
darkness under my eyes unless I haven't slept at all but after trying this I did see it did brighten up
that area of my face which is a definite plus!

Isn't it weird how a shade to help with redness on the skin is actually green in colour? However
somehow it just works! I don't suffer any redness on my face, BUT I do get the odd red rash on my
neck for some reason for absolutely NO reason at all. The creamy texture of this makes it really easy
to work into my problem areas and conceals the rash instantly, it's really very discreet!

Something I have learned recently with my skin, is that with ageing comes dullness! Boo! My skin
especially gets dull when I am tired, haven't drunk enough water or when I am stressed. These
everyday issues aren't as easy to hide as they once were. Now I just dab a little bit of the violet
shade here and there on my face, usually just on the recommended areas like the middle of the
forehead, lower cheeks and sides of the chin. I use this under my foundation but over my primer.

Rimmel London #Insta Flawless & #Insta Fix & Go

I have already reviewed the #Insta Flawless Skin Perfecter HERE so if you want to learn more you
can check it out there.

I have been using the #Insta Fix & Go 3-in-1 Mist for quite a new months now and am quite
enjoying the experience. The scent with the cucumber extracts makes it smell extremely refreshing
and it is a light natural scent which is great for something you are spraying onto your face! If you
have tried the Rimmel London mascara with the cucumber extracts they released about a year or so
ago then it has the same scent as that!

The spray bottle distributes the formula quite fast and generously so you'll want to hold it a good arm
length away from you face when you spray it so you don't get too wet and ruin your makeup. Doesn't
seem to matter too much for the priming stage however and if I get too much spray I just massage it
into my skin, let it dry and then go ahead applying my makeup. No dramas. It dries quickly too
which is great when you're on a time crunch in the morning! It does a minimal job at minimising my
pores, but does seem to keep my makeup in place throughout the day. I have not used this in the hot
summer months when I am sure to be sweating so I will be interested to see how it holds my
makeup on those kinds of days!

As always you can purchase these products and more from Rimmel from your local Priceline, Target,
Chemist Warehouse, Big W and Woolworths.

2015 SKINCARE ROUTINE

~ New Year ~

New Skincare Routine!

Paula's Choice
RESIST Perfectly Balanced Foaming Cleanser
Cleanser for Normal/Oily/Combination Skin!
RRP: $30.00 (190ml)
---------------------------------------------------
To begin with I will just let your know straight off the bat one of the most convenient aspects
of this product which I enjoyed the most and that is that this Foaming Cleanser not only
cleanses your skin without stripping it of it's natural oils and pH balance, it also removes makeup!
I usually remove my makeup before cleansing, however with this product I get to skin a step and
save a bit of time, oh so precious time! :) (Where does it all go anyway?!)

This generous size pump bottle contains a creamy, white liquid which quickly lathers into a
non scented foam when applied to your face which should be dampened with luke warm water
prior to activate the product and open up the pores for best results whilst cleansing.

I found this product very easy to use and very effective when followed up with the Pore-
Refining Treatment and Daily Mattifying Fluid.

My skin has remained clear and looking smoother, more radiant and a whole lot less tired than
it really is!

Paula's Choice
RESIST Daily Pore-Refining Treatment
2% BHA
Exfoliant for Normal/Oily/Combination Skin!
RRP: $38.00 (88ml)
---------------------------------------------------
This is a very interesting exfoliating product because not only do you use it more like you would
a toner. It also does not contain any kind of visible exfoliant beads or scrub!

I have always struggled with the size of the pores on my face and have tried many products promising to diminish them. Some have worked well while many haven't. This product actually does
wonders for reducing and tightening my pores, plus it also aids in the anti-ageing aspect of my skin
as well as making the whole surface feel smoother and look youthful again!

I am amazed that such a strong working product as this is actually fragrance free!
Paula's Choice products also do not believe in animal testing which I am more than happy to
help support!

So then how do you actually use this product?
As I mentioned earlier. You simply do as you would with a facial toner. (I love toner btw, they
are great for tightening pores and clearing acne!) Simply take a cotton ball, apply some of the
Daily Pore-Refining Treatment to it and swipe all over the face and neck. This stuff is gentle enough
to use around your eyes, but not over them of course or you risk getting product into your eyes which
is never a good thing! Make sure your skin is clean before using and it is recommended to follow up
and apply your favourite moisturiser afterwards before applying makeup.

Taking this extra step into my new year's skincare routine I believe has really been worth while
in nurturing my skin into it's early 30's!

Paula's Choice
RESIST Youth-Extending Daily Mattifying Fluid
SPF 15
Moisturiser for Normal/Oily/Combination Skin!
RRP: $35.00 (60ml)
---------------------------------------------------
Being Summer in QLD, it is imperative to protect your skin from the harmful sun's UV rays daily!
I have always been sun concious and rarely ever suffer from sunburn. I once burnt quite badly when
I was about 14-15 and living in Cairns, the sun was as you would expect in TNQ, completely
unforgiving! So I in turn learnt my lesson the hard way as it make me feel quite physically ill
and I never let myself burn like that ever again!

Products such as this which contain some kind of SPF in them are quite common how a days
and so really there is no excuse not to slip, slop, slap when it is so easy.

This product is easily applied after cleansing and toning and before makeup and absorbs quickly
without leaving a greasy residue. I appreciate the mattyfying effect as even though I classify my
skin as being 'normal', it can still gain that a little more than a 'dewy' effect by the end of a long, hot,
Summer's day! I have found my skin to remain looking matte and fresh throughout the day when
I've applied this in the morning. So it is quite amazing that it moisturises and protects your skin
from the sun whilst still not feeling heavy or slick!

Fragrance free and non irritable, this whole Paula's Choice RESIST skincare range helps to
prevent the visible signs of aging and minimise pore appearance. Two of my top skincare
concerns sorted!

Check out the massive range of Paula's Choice products here to find a range
tailored to your skin type and concerns.

Australis Matte Velour Lips in Ma-Li-Boo!

As you can see here, the colour really pops on your lips
and stands out beautifully!
The formula is completely matte, but does feel quite dry.
I've found it wears best and lasts longer on well
exfoliated, smooth lips.
I recommend using a sugar scrub with a dedicated toothbrush,
then gently wiping off with a warm, damp face cloth
before application works best for me.

The formula is one of the most highly pigmented I've ever seen.
So much so that be warned these aren't exactly shades you can
start off light and build the colour up.
With one light, smooth swipe you get full on
bright coverage.
Perfect if you love bold lips like I do! :)

Swatch!

I'm am so in love with this fluro pink!
Also available in;

Tok-i-Yo -Purple
Rio-D -Orange
NY-Cee - Red
Par-Ee - Nude

Have you tired any of the Velour lips before?
Which is your favourite shade?

April Favourites 2014!

April Favourites 2014!

---

On oldie but a goodie!
I purchased this with my points from Beautorium on Beautyheaven.
Such a fantastic all rounder to have handy around the house, in the car and on the go!
Cleans just about anything and smells lovely too.
Nice and moist. Love these and highly recommend them!
Check out my complete haul here!

I have been busy this month creating a bunch of different looks
with items from the Scunci brand. Stay tuned in future blog posts!
I just love these no fuss basic hair ties and they have been a huge
part of my everyday hair routine this month.
I love them because they don't have any metal bits the snag the
hair on. They're the perfect colour for my dark hair and they are super strong!
See my How-To create the perfect hair bun post here!

Another hair tie fav would have to be these gorgeous ties from
Lady Jayne. Another fabulous item received with my Beautorium goodies,
only these were totally free! Happy days! 😊

Ever since I purchased this I have not stopped wearing it!
Such an amazing, bright, vibrant colour, I own
nothing else like it.
See what else I purchased during this shopping trip!

Recently hauled, hubby bought this sparkly little
'Gem' home for me after picking up a few groceries one night.
Totally in love with the gold and pink shimmery glitter.
Such a different mix of colours, totally loving it!

What were your April favs?

Teeny Tiny Weekend Beauty Haul!

Last week I was browsing through our weekly catalogues and came across The Reject Shop which was advertising OPI on the cover for just $6 per bottle! I was so excited as I adore OPI nail polish, so over the weekend I just had to check it out. Unfortunately they didn't have a wide range of shades. But I did manage to choose 2 colours I liked that I didn't already have.

Just Spotted The Lizard

You Glitter Be Good To Me

Then I whisked off to Priceline quickly and picked up an Australis Matte Lip Cream in the shade Ma-Li-Boo, which is an almost fluro hot pink which I am totally in love with!
Follow me on Instagram @candyfairy to see me wearing this! :)

Hope you all had a great weekend!
Did you treat yourself to any new beauty goods?
