PALMOLIVE

~  PALMOLIVE NATURALS  ~

Active Nourishment
Shampoo & Conditioner

Review!

Shampoo

I have long colour lightened hair which needs extra TLC so using a nourishing, effective shampoo and conditioner duo is quite an important and necessary part of my weekly hair routine. Over the past few weeks I have only been using this pair three times a week with satisfying results.

Even though these are made for 'Normal Hair' types and my hair is more oily at the roots and dryer toward the ends, I thought it did a great job at keeping that happy medium following the days after washing. My hair felt more even in texture and in regards to moisture levels, not being at all oily on my scalp or as dry toward my ends which was a welcome and noticeable change!

I have always had a soft spot for Aloe Vera and have a stack of it sprouting out all over my little garden so to welcome that scent into my hair was lovely and refreshing. The subtle scent lingering after washing the following day.

Standard, fuss free, easy to use packaging with attractive colours and image on the front.
Competitively priced and great value for money, I recommend everyone giving these a try!

Conditioner

Using this conditioner together with the Active Nourishment shampoo, I found this duo worked well together as a pair. The conditioner was easy to use and distribute evenly throughout my hair whilst I showered allowing any knotty bits to untangle easily and become smooth.

The scent smells identical to the shampoo and doesn't over power your nose so you can still breath easy through the steam as you shower.

Easy to use tube which unmistakably matches it's twin the Palmolive Naturals Aloe Vera & Fruit Vitamins shampoo.

Recommended to families of all ages and hair types. If it can work on my temperamental hair which can't work out weather it wants to be oily or dry, then what do you have to lose? :)

Currently RRP for $4.99 each for 350ml
(Also available in a huge 700ml for $7.99)

NUDE BY NATURE

~  NUDE BY NATURE  ~

Pressed Natural Mineral Cover

http://www.nudebynature.com.au
Nude By Nature Pressed Mineral Powder in 'Light' - $39.95 (Shop!)

I have recently been using this lovely pressed mineral powder in the shade 'Light' which is my general shade when it comes to facial makeup products as my skin is quite light, but not fair. Upon opening the very glam packaging (sleek box and cloth pouch complete with dark brown round compact & sponge) I was quite surprised at how dark the powder appeared! I had to double check I had the correct shade, which I did. (Phew!)

I usually do not like to use any kind of sponge when it comes to applying makeup as for me the product seems to get lost in the sponge and does not transfer well onto my skin. However this sponge wasn't too bad, still I prefer to use a fluffy brush as it seems to get the powder the cover more even and give a more flawless finish.
I am really impressed with the coverage, especially when it comes to my pores. Mine are a bit big around my cheeks near my nose and the powder covered them quite well without settling into them even towards the end of the day which is what I normally experience.
I am enjoying the light feeling this gives on my skin and I find I can get away without having to touch up throughout the day, however as it gets hotter as Summer approaches I am sure I may need to at least once as I tend to get a bit oily when it gets super hot.

Big points to Nude By Nature for being cruelty free, naturally derived and Australian made!
A beautiful product I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a new pressed powder to try. A great handy size which fits perfectly into a small makeup bag or purse and the mirror is a 100% must for me as I am always rummerging around my bag in search of mine which seems to live a life of it's own and only reappears once I have given up looking for it
and no longer need it!

LANCOME

~  LANCOME  ~

NEW

Renergie Multi-Lift!

Having turned 31 at the very beginning of the year really nailed it into me just how fast
my 30's are already progressing and how long ago my 20's seemed!

Now, more than ever I am focused on my anti-ageing skincare regime and fighting the inevitable battle of getting older.

When products like this one come my way I get so excited as this would not normally be a product
within my budget to purchase for myself.

This product is a luxe treat and one I am treating like a little tub of pure gold,
because at the end of the day, I'd rather have flawless, perfect skin than a tub of gold any day!
Vein? Yep!

My bedroom decor has a few mirrored furniture pieces and the packaging of this fits in like family.
The silver box with it's gold signature rose accent is so gorgeous and lady like.
The beauty only continues as you open up the box and delve inside the violet casing.

The formula has a rich, pretty scent which reminds me of a well kept older woman. Dripping in
pearls and diamonds with her make-up perfectly applied. Every time I apply this ulta light, creamy
gel like cream I imagine I will be like that in my 60's, 70's and beyond. (Or however long I last
on this earth!) Still looking around 30 when I'm in my 70's?! Yes please!

At the moment though, my skin is behaving pretty well. It seems to have grown out it it's acne
fit and it is a lot less oily than it used to be. I would classify my skin as normal with a few fine lines
around my eyes when I smile as well as those deep worry lines across my forehead. Other than that,
my skin is okay.

Since using this Lancome NEW Renergie Multi-Lift Cream, I have noticed my skin to feel much
softer. The skin on my neck and chest area seem to be much smoother and less irritated. I seem
to get random red rashes in this area about once a day whenever I am stressed or anxious and
I feel like this cream has calmed it all down since applying this cream.

As for the multi-lift effect. The only place I feel like has had gravity take to it a tiny bit is my cheeks.
In some photos I can tell they're not as plump as they once were.  After about a week of using this
cream twice daily, I can see, even without taking a picture, my skin has lifted ever so slightly!
I'm not sure how long the effect will last, but I am loving it! It makes so much difference to my
confidence, especially when I smile! So amazed as no other product I've used has ever achieved
this effect!

Overall a really lovely cream which I highly recommend. I don't see how anyone wouldn't
love using this and wouldn't love it!

MAYBELLINE

~ Maybelline New York ~

SuperStay Better Skin
Flawless Finish Foundation

#005 Light Beige

I have been trialling this in the shade #005 Light Beige
which is a perfect match for my skin's colour which is olive but
very white with no tan at all.
Initially when I first pumped a bit of the product out
onto my hand I thought it appeared to be too light,
My hands must be a darker shade to my face though
because it just blended right into the exact shade of my

cheek and the rest of my face.
Yay! Will need to remember that in future!
The bottle is quite a solid, weighty and made from glass which I like,
But will need to be careful not to break!

The lid and pump are plastic though so not all super fragile or anything.
I like that I can see the product and how
much I've used because it is a clear glass.
I like that this product is unique in the way
that it claims to give you better looking skin in three weeks
because of it's vitamin enriched formula.
Pretty clever and I think my skin is agreeing.
I noticed my skin instantly appearing more even in colour
and smoother once applied and my husband even commented
the following morning after I'd used for the first time the day
before that he thought my skin looked better like
I was wearing some kind of foundation, even though

I'd thoroughly removed it all the night before!
Not much of a scent to the product at all,
Which doesn't really bother me either way.
Overall, I have honestly been loving this and think
it is one of the better ones I have ever used.
It felt light on my skin and didn't dry out or look greasy

by the end of the day.
Just looked like my own skin, only hiding all of my little flaws!! ;)
Will continue to use and would purchase in the future,
 it's a great price and a brand
I love and have always used anyway,

so I can see myself keeping one of
these on hand in my collection for continued future use.

GARNIER OLIA FOLLOW UP

~ Follow Up Reviews ~

- Second time results!
Second Review #Dark Brown 4.0
Following the first time dying my hair with this hair dye in the dark brown 4.0, the second time around was a pretty similar experience.
The colour is almost identical to my natural shade so I have been happy with no noticeable regrowth. I haven't noticed the colour fading at all, which has been excellent. It covered my few stray greys, although when it came time to dye my hair again after a few weeks, some sneaky new ones had suddenly appeared. :*( So I don't know if that is from the dye wearing off, or just new ones growing.
I noticed after this second round, by the time I was ready to dye my hair again and the conditioning cream provided in the box had been long used up, only after using it again did I realize just how much of a difference it makes to my hair!! Looking back over my first video review, I think you can see the difference in my hairs texture before and after dying really obviously. My hair took to it so well, I feel like the no ammonia and flower oils also helped make such a positive difference in the dye itself. My hair became once again super smooth, soft and very shiny and healthy looking! It felt so good! Again I used two boxes to complete the job, using about 3/4 the amount of the second box.
Any slight drips onto my skin didn't stain and simply washed off in the shower. I didn't get light headed or anything like that from the fumes, because there weren't any. No irritation at all and I found it even easier the second time around after already using the product once before.
Super duper impressed & very happy with the results!

- Third time results!
Will Continue To Use!
This is my 3rd and final review as part of the Trial Team for this product. I've now dyed my hair for the 3rd time in the shade 4.0 Dark Brown which is almost exact to my natural shade.
I found for the first time I only used just one box instead of 2 previously as I found the colour hadn't really faded at all and since my roots were almost exact I didn't need much touching up. I did still have the odd grey popping through so I mainly focused on getting as much dye as I could manage soaking into those nasty little hairs!
Throughout this whole experience, since the beginning my hair has remained in a much better, more noticeable condition. I have really noticed the difference at how shinier my hair looks and it just overall feels healthier, I've even received quite a few compliments from family and friends at how good my hair is looking and what I'd done to it!! :D
I would love to see Garnier supply or release a larger tube of the conditioning treatment supplied in the box as I just LOVED it! If I could purchase a larger bottle of it or similar I would use it all the time!
I've decided to keep the upkeep and colour maintenance of my hair with this product as the colour really suits me and my skin tone. I feel like it is a big improvement from the two toned ombre effect I had going on before!
Will continue to use and purchase! LOVE IT! :)
*thumbs up!*

SUNSCREEN IN WINTER

~ Neutrogena Beach Defence ~

Water + Sun Barrier Lotion

You might think me to be a little strange to be writing a post about
sunscreen when it's the middle of winter, but hear me out as I justify
my crazy ways.

We all know the harmful effects the sun can have on our skin, hair, eyes, etc!
But did you know the sun's most damaging UVA & UVB rays can actually strike you
on cloudy days! So even if it is rain, hail, even snow or shine, we really all
should be lathering up in this stuff year round!

I was fortunate enough as part to Beautyheaven's video trial team to test this
particular lotion out and I have to say, it has remained a firm favourite for our
whole family. (We're onto our second bottle!)

The bright yellow bottle is just so bright and fun looking, it makes me happy
to look at on those cold winter mornings whilst dreaming about the warm sunshine,
and sand between my toes as I walk along the warm waters edge.....

What I love about this is the super high SPF of 50! With a young family, it is so
important to me to look after them and with this at least I know I am giving them
the best skin protection I can. It is also water resistant for up to 4 hours, which Is
perfect in the warmer months when we're swimming in the pool or at the beach.

The lightweight formula makes it easy to apply and rub in without giving you that
less than appealing white ghost look. It absorbs into the skin quickly and isn't greasy,
nor does it even smell like your typical sunscreen lotion! The scent is more like a
light fragranced moisturiser.

All pluses with this one, I really cannot fault this product!
A staple I recommend every household should own!

Natures Organics

Vanilla Ylang Ylang Body Wash
With Organic Sunflower & Brazil Nut Butter
If you have been reading my blog, then you probably know how much
I've been loving Vanilla scents lately. I have never much a fan of it, even
when it seemed to be all the rage and it was the scent everybody had their
body sprays and even everybody seemed to only drink vanilla coke when I was growing up.

Now, however it just smells so good to me and I can't get enough!
This body wash smells very much vanilla, with the Brazil Nut Butter
giving it an almost caramel tint. This is almost sickly sweet, so if
you're not big on scents that smell like lollies, steer clear of this one. The hubby
has already told me he doesn't like it, so I don't feel like many men would rush out to
buy this one. I however am loving it!

I'm not sure if I can smell the Sunflower
Or the Ylang Ylang, and I'm pretty confident I cannot even pronounce it correctly!
But, whatevs, this 725ml bottle is going to keep me going for months on end,
so don't expect to see this in an empties post anytime soon! ;)
Such an amazing bargain for such a large quantity without substituting on quality.

I love that this company makes Australian made and owned products
and that they're environmentally friendly and recyclable.
I always try to recycle as much as possible, so this gets a big thumbs up for that!

I will be keeping my eye out for this brand from now on as
I am completely converted and can't wait to try more from this company.

Antibacterial Lemongrass Ginger Hand Wash
With Organic Olive Oil & Lime
I was skeptical with this hand wash at first, just because I usually really hate
lemongrass and ginger scents. The olive oil and lime must tone it down a bit
because I actually didn't find it overpowering or strong smelling at all.
It smelt more like a menthol lolly more than anything. Not the butter ones,
but just those mentholy ones.

An antibacterial soap is a must in our house as we
have two young kids who get into everything and this helps to give me peace
of mind that they're at least staying somewhat clean if their hands are regularly
washed with this throughout the day.

The formula foams up nicely and doesn't leave my skin dry at all.
My hands look and feel fresh and clean and smelling crisp and slightly citrus.

The pump style bottle makes the product disburse with ease
and just the right amount of product comes out easily each time.
Only one pump is needed per wash I found.

My whole family have been using it and really like it,
we even had visitors recently who also used it. :)

Will buy in the future and will look out for other scents as well.

Garnier Olia

Garnier Olia

Permanent Hair Colour

4.0 Dark Brown

Review!

My hair is naturally quite thick, long and dare I say just beginning to show signs of going grey with the odd stray popping up and giving me a fright every now and again, more often than I'd like actually. So dying my hair has started to become something I would like to do as often as needed to keep it all one colour!
I have recently tried this in the shade 4.0 Dark Brown which is pretty much my natural hair's colour. My hair was slightly ombre and therefore slightly lighter towards the bottom half of my hair from a previous hair dying job some time ago.
I love that this hair dye is much different than any I have ever used.
It contains much friendlier ingredients packed with flower oils (sold me right there!) and no ammonia which I find from past experiences with it in other hair dye to be strong smelling, harsh on the hair and sometimes irritates the skin.
This particular hair dye was so easy to use.
The instructions were clear and simple to follow.
Very uncomplicated with everything clearly labeled and packaged sleek and with class.
My hair took to the formulation of the dye with ease. I had no irritant effects, stinging or burning.
The dye didn't stain my skin or make a lot of mess.
My hair seemed to soak it right in and there results are really quite beautiful.
My hair's overall feeling and look has really transformed into what I feel to be how my hair would be naturally at it's best.
It is so much shinier and smooth.
I feel like the silk and shine multi-application conditioner provided really helped with that along with the actual dye itself.
The few grey hairs I have are completely gone, you would never even know they were ever there. (Thank you!!!)
I am really, really happy!

Did I happen to mention how my hair smelt like a big bunch of flowers not only during but after the application was completely rinsed out and my hair dried?
Must be all those natural flower oils, how luxurious!
As good as a salon visit, only I get to do it at home!
Much more convenient!

I used 2 boxes as I mentioned at the start of this review,
my hair goes all the way down my back way past my shoulders and is quite thick and this amount sufficed sufficiently. :)
