MAX FACTOR

~ MAX FACTOR ~

Velvet Volume False Lash Effect Mascara

REVIEW!

I own a few other Max Factor makeup items in my collection and I have always wondered why I
don't hear as much of this brand as some others. I feel like Max Factor deserves a bit more
recognition as their products are amazing!

I have really enjoyed incorporating this mascara into my everyday makeup routine along with others from the brand. Together they work well and I love the end result.

The sleek and posh black & gold tube is very classy and grown up looking as opposed to some other brightly coloured ones on the market. This makes me feel good to use for a change. I like the feeling!

The wand is easy to use and hold in my hand. I can apply steadily and coat every single lash, even those almost invisible ones on the inner corner on both the top & bottom.

My lashes are nothing to brag about so I loved having them given a nice amount of extra length and volume to make me appear more awake, alive and with the illusion of slightly bigger eyes. YAS!! :D (I have always envied Ashley Olsen's doll like beautiful big eyes!) My eyes don't look quite THAT amazing, but using this mascara has definitely helped!

No overpowering scent or anything which I like when it comes to mascaras because then I definitely know when they need to hit the bin as soon as I begin to feel that waft of product creep up my nose!

Overall, this mascara has been great and I have been using it everyday. For night to add a little more drama, I found applying a few extra coats made a bigger difference in making them appear to have that slight 'False Lash Effect'.

I would recommend for both day & night for those who want a more grown up, classy looking mascara that is versatile in giving you a range of looks from office professional to let your hair down party animal depending on how many coats you apply. :)

Do you have a favourite versatile mascara?

PALMOLIVE

~  PALMOLIVE NATURALS  ~

Active Nourishment
Shampoo & Conditioner

Review!

Shampoo

I have long colour lightened hair which needs extra TLC so using a nourishing, effective shampoo and conditioner duo is quite an important and necessary part of my weekly hair routine. Over the past few weeks I have only been using this pair three times a week with satisfying results.

Even though these are made for 'Normal Hair' types and my hair is more oily at the roots and dryer toward the ends, I thought it did a great job at keeping that happy medium following the days after washing. My hair felt more even in texture and in regards to moisture levels, not being at all oily on my scalp or as dry toward my ends which was a welcome and noticeable change!

I have always had a soft spot for Aloe Vera and have a stack of it sprouting out all over my little garden so to welcome that scent into my hair was lovely and refreshing. The subtle scent lingering after washing the following day.

Standard, fuss free, easy to use packaging with attractive colours and image on the front.
Competitively priced and great value for money, I recommend everyone giving these a try!

Conditioner

Using this conditioner together with the Active Nourishment shampoo, I found this duo worked well together as a pair. The conditioner was easy to use and distribute evenly throughout my hair whilst I showered allowing any knotty bits to untangle easily and become smooth.

The scent smells identical to the shampoo and doesn't over power your nose so you can still breath easy through the steam as you shower.

Easy to use tube which unmistakably matches it's twin the Palmolive Naturals Aloe Vera & Fruit Vitamins shampoo.

Recommended to families of all ages and hair types. If it can work on my temperamental hair which can't work out weather it wants to be oily or dry, then what do you have to lose? :)

Currently RRP for $4.99 each for 350ml
(Also available in a huge 700ml for $7.99)

BEAUTORIUM

~  Beautorium  ~

Beautyheaven Rewards

(December 2015!)

http://www.beautyheaven.com.au

One of those little things which make your day just that little bit better and more exciting than bills
arriving in the mail is when Beautyheaven open their (virtual) doors to their online shopping event
that is Beautorium. Where loyal members (such as moi) can redeem their points accumulated
from participation on the site for beauty products available in the 'shop'! Hooray!

As usual I have absolutely NO self control (I did try, really I did!) and spent all of my points.
Yep my balance is back to literally zero! Time to get busy again with reviews, comments and
referrals for the next event rumoured to be held in April 2016. Too exciting! :)

Enough babble, onto the items I spent all my points on...

If you know me than you know I am Kora obsessed! I love the range of certified organic products
and ingredients. They feel so nice on the skin. I am so happy to have been able to pick up this
body wash for 750 points. It is a good 150ml and retails for $37.50. On the pricier side for a body
wash so very happy to have picked it up for free! There were also a few other Kora products in
the shop, however I didn't have enough points to splurge on them all. Hopefully they will still be
available in April. This one has been added to my Kora collection of Day & Night Cream &

MOR Pepperberry & Cardamon Hand & Body Wash
Ah MOR is such a luxury brand to me. I have always found their products to be ultra rich and
always smell ah-mazing! This one is no exception with the blend of Pepperberry and Cardamon
smelling very sweet and like black berries! Reminds me a little of Lush Snow Fairy. :)
On the steep side at 500 points, however quite a large 350ml which should last a while.

Schick Intuition Coconut Milk & Almond Oil Razor
This product is no stranger to me having first used it in a trial for Beautyheaven and then continuing
to stock up on it in a past few Beautoirums. This is my all time favourite razor! The smell is so
yummy and creamy as it the formulation of the moisture block which makes shaving so smooth and
gentle and easy! I just love it! This cost me 260 points. (Review!)

T.B.N. Nail Colour in Little Miss Mila & In The Nude
There where quite a few other shades to choose from in the shop but I ended up settling on one of
my fav classic hot barbie pinks and a nude as I am slowing creeping into liking that kind of neutral
hue. Only 50 points each, a complete steal and I cannot wait to paint with these!

Romantic Colour Eyeshadow Palette by T.B.N.
I almost didn't get this last product, however I spent all of my points on the very last day of
Beautorium and thought what the hell why not? At only 100 points I couldn't resist. There was also
another colour variation available which were all black/greys which I feel would be a little too
dramatic for me so I decided to go with these gorgeous soft pinks, burgundy, charcoal and white
highlight. I have not tried any products from TBN before so I cannot wait! So much fun to be had I
am sure!

Bonus FREE Samples!
If you are a regular BH member or Beautoirum alumni then you would be well aware Beautyheaven
always throw in a few free samples with your order and this time around these are the ones which
came in my haul. So very happy with them and of course super excited to try some newbies! Woo!

NUDE BY NATURE

~  NUDE BY NATURE  ~

Pressed Natural Mineral Cover

http://www.nudebynature.com.au
Nude By Nature Pressed Mineral Powder in 'Light' - $39.95 (Shop!)

I have recently been using this lovely pressed mineral powder in the shade 'Light' which is my general shade when it comes to facial makeup products as my skin is quite light, but not fair. Upon opening the very glam packaging (sleek box and cloth pouch complete with dark brown round compact & sponge) I was quite surprised at how dark the powder appeared! I had to double check I had the correct shade, which I did. (Phew!)

I usually do not like to use any kind of sponge when it comes to applying makeup as for me the product seems to get lost in the sponge and does not transfer well onto my skin. However this sponge wasn't too bad, still I prefer to use a fluffy brush as it seems to get the powder the cover more even and give a more flawless finish.
I am really impressed with the coverage, especially when it comes to my pores. Mine are a bit big around my cheeks near my nose and the powder covered them quite well without settling into them even towards the end of the day which is what I normally experience.
I am enjoying the light feeling this gives on my skin and I find I can get away without having to touch up throughout the day, however as it gets hotter as Summer approaches I am sure I may need to at least once as I tend to get a bit oily when it gets super hot.

Big points to Nude By Nature for being cruelty free, naturally derived and Australian made!
A beautiful product I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a new pressed powder to try. A great handy size which fits perfectly into a small makeup bag or purse and the mirror is a 100% must for me as I am always rummerging around my bag in search of mine which seems to live a life of it's own and only reappears once I have given up looking for it
and no longer need it!

This is a great way to add a little something extra to your plain old pony tail. I like that the colour I have in the black isn't too in your face and adds a subtle girly touch to my look.

The bow seems to be made really well and doesn't flop or droop once I have it placed in my hair. It's nice and firm and holds it's own. The black elactic is also nice and strong and doesn't appear or feel as though it is going to snap or lose it's elasticity any time soon.

A great fashionable piece which can be worn from day into the night straight from the office to the town. Very nice I love this and suitable for all ages and most hair types. :)

I have used Dr.LeWinns moisturiser for years after first discovering it in my early twenties. After using up my first tub I was hooked. It is such a good moisturiser to use daily and it really delivers. My skin always feels lovely when I use this as oppose to when I don't. I can really see and feel the difference as this daily moisturiser makes my skin feel softer and it just looks healthier and more youthful and alive!

The white creamy formula isn't too thick or runny and soaks into my skin like hydrating a desert! It is virtually scent free so it doesn't irritate my skin or nose and the contents inside the tub don't turn a weird colour or consistency as some others have in the past when I've had them open for a while. This seems to just stay nice and fresh!

I recommend seeing if you can pick up one of their little sample tubs to try out if you can to see how great it really is. If not, I would just purchase the full size, you won't regret it! :)

Kosmea Certified Organic Rose Hip Oil
Having used this once before and now just receiving another sample of this to try I am seriously considering purchasing it full size! I have used quite a number of different Rose Hip Oil's but nothing compares to how quickly I saw actual results in the scaring on my stomach from having two kids. I have tried just about everything to try and makes those annoying stretch marks go away and nothing does much. I moisturise daily which has helped them to fade quite a bit, but when I used this Kosmea oil at night after my shower, by morning after inspecting my belly, I actually could see a significant fade in the appearance of my stretch marks and that was only after the first use!!

I feel like this Rose Hip Oil is very concentrated and pure as you only need a tiny few dops and it will spread out onto your skin and go a long way soaking in and making you skin feel a soft a dough.

With the added benefits of being highly moisturising, a wrinkle fighter and an aid in sun damaged skin, I don't know why I haven't purchased this yet! It's a must for me and I will be sad when my sample runs out!

I have used these wipes previously and recently received a few more samples to try and since it had been a while since I first tried these with negative effect, I decided to give them a second chance since there are quite a few positive reviews, I thought perhaps I should try these again.

I don't feel like these are a product I need to use daily. However I can see the possible benefits of having these on hand for days after being at the gym, working out, traveling or staying overnight somewhere or camping.

The sensation the formula from these wipes gives is not really comforting for my delicate area, however someone else mentioned these after having a baby and having had two myself, I can say that I would agree, these would be great to have to take to the hospital with you and to have afterwards to help keep that area clean and smelling fresh again, especially if you had had stitches, they were a nightmare!

Overall I feel like these a great for certain situations, just not as a daily wipe. :)

Al'chemy Lavender & Anthyliss Leave-In Conditioner
I have long, dry and highlighted hair which needs a little extra TLC on a regular basis. Based on other reviews from this product and from researching it I realised it only works best it used sparingly as a little bit of this product distribues evenly though your hair without having to use a whole dollop of it.

The 10ml sachet I am currently using is a very generous sample size considering I am onto my 3rd wash with it and am seeing positive results. My hair and in particular the ends are so much softer and less course and dry.

As with conditioner in general, be careful not to apply any of it to the roots of your hair or you will instantly feel it weighing you down and once dry your hair will feel oily which is scary if you already have oil prone, thin or flat hair.

I find the way I use it to be a winner. It really works wonders and the scent it uplifting and relaxing as I shower.

Durex Real Feel Condoms
I used these previously after having my babies and they work great!
Do the job and you can't even feel them. Durable and don't break or dry out. Are super thin so I did
worry a little that they might break, but they didn't. Phew! Now more babies just yet thank you! ;)

LANCOME

~  LANCOME  ~

NEW

Renergie Multi-Lift!

Having turned 31 at the very beginning of the year really nailed it into me just how fast
my 30's are already progressing and how long ago my 20's seemed!

Now, more than ever I am focused on my anti-ageing skincare regime and fighting the inevitable battle of getting older.

When products like this one come my way I get so excited as this would not normally be a product
within my budget to purchase for myself.

This product is a luxe treat and one I am treating like a little tub of pure gold,
because at the end of the day, I'd rather have flawless, perfect skin than a tub of gold any day!
Vein? Yep!

My bedroom decor has a few mirrored furniture pieces and the packaging of this fits in like family.
The silver box with it's gold signature rose accent is so gorgeous and lady like.
The beauty only continues as you open up the box and delve inside the violet casing.

The formula has a rich, pretty scent which reminds me of a well kept older woman. Dripping in
pearls and diamonds with her make-up perfectly applied. Every time I apply this ulta light, creamy
gel like cream I imagine I will be like that in my 60's, 70's and beyond. (Or however long I last
on this earth!) Still looking around 30 when I'm in my 70's?! Yes please!

At the moment though, my skin is behaving pretty well. It seems to have grown out it it's acne
fit and it is a lot less oily than it used to be. I would classify my skin as normal with a few fine lines
around my eyes when I smile as well as those deep worry lines across my forehead. Other than that,
my skin is okay.

Since using this Lancome NEW Renergie Multi-Lift Cream, I have noticed my skin to feel much
softer. The skin on my neck and chest area seem to be much smoother and less irritated. I seem
to get random red rashes in this area about once a day whenever I am stressed or anxious and
I feel like this cream has calmed it all down since applying this cream.

As for the multi-lift effect. The only place I feel like has had gravity take to it a tiny bit is my cheeks.
In some photos I can tell they're not as plump as they once were.  After about a week of using this
cream twice daily, I can see, even without taking a picture, my skin has lifted ever so slightly!
I'm not sure how long the effect will last, but I am loving it! It makes so much difference to my
confidence, especially when I smile! So amazed as no other product I've used has ever achieved
this effect!

Overall a really lovely cream which I highly recommend. I don't see how anyone wouldn't
love using this and wouldn't love it!

DREAM WONDER

MAYBELLINE

Dream Wonder Foundation!

I have been trialling this new foundation by Maybelline through Beautyheaven's
Trial Team over the past few weeks and despite hearing quite a bit of negativity
regarding this product, I have to say, I am really enjoying it!
The unique and different packaging in particular!

I have never used a foundation with an applicator wand like this.
When you unscrew the cap a long wand with a tear drop shape at the end appears
which I have found easiest to apply straight onto my skin in spots around my face
and then blend into my skin with either my fingers as recommended or my
beauty blender sponge which works a treat at spreading out the
formulation and concealing my imperfections seamlessly!

The glass bottle is only 20ml, so smaller than most other foundation bottles on
the market and smaller than any other in my collection.
I have a light skin tone that isn't fair or sensitive and I found the shade
Classic Ivory to be a perfect match!

Even though the formula contains an SPF of 20, it doesn't feel at all greasy, honestly!
In fact, upon application the liquid quickly dries and feels more to me like a powder!
It has a very smooth feeling to it and I found after about 10 minutes or so the
coverage appeared to go from light to more of a medium.
So I would recommend waiting a few minutes if you have the time before deciding
weather or not to add more foundation to your face to build up the coverage
as it seemed to look better as the day wore on. Having said that, the lasting ability
was also great! It easily lasted the day without the need for any kind of touching up
It also did not transfer onto any of my clothes which can be so annoying,
don't we all know it!?
The scent of this Maybelline Dream Wonder foundation is a little potent and may
bother some sensitive noses. However you cannot smell it once applied.
Only if you sniff the bottle upon opening it will you get a whiff of the high
alcohol content this formulation contains.

Overall, I would rate this foundation quite highly as I am really enjoying reaching
for it each day over my others at the moment and enjoying the unique way in
which it is applied and how it feels on my skin. At the end of the day my skin usually
feels a little greasy and appears a tad on the shiny side. Somehow this founation
reduces this! Perhaps it is the velvety, powder like finish. I think it is great!

I would happily and confidently recommend this product and would purchase
it for the current RRP of $21.95 (AU).
One of the better foundations I have tried in terms of how flawless it makes my skin look.

Have you tried this foundation?
What do you think of the unique looking wand?
