NEW RIMMEL

NEW YEAR
NEW! - RIMMEL LONDON MAKEUP!

Far out, February already? Can you believe it! My daughter started prep this year hence my blog
being a little quiet during January. It has been a busy, emotional and exciting time for us all!

Hang on a tic, February, the month of luuuurve! I just love all the fun lovey dovey products which
jump out at you vying for your attention this time of the year. Even if you're single I personally
would make this time all about myself. Self love and appreciation for all that you are. There are lots
of ways to celebrate love, not just in the boyfriend/girlfriend kinda way.

So stay tuned this month for some fun Valentine's Day themed articles and piccies! Time to get
flat lay love creative, goody goody!

In the meantime if you want some Valentine's Day hair inspiration you can watch a few videos I
made last year HERE and HERE and HERE!

Now let's get onto some fun new Rimmel London products! I cannot wait to see what else this brand
comes up with this year. Last year was amazing in terms of product releases. There were so many
and many the suit all ages and makeup preferences. I really love Rimmel because they are not only
highly desirably priced, their quality of products are also up there. Such great value!

Fresher Skin Foundation - #102 Light Nude
Rimmel London foundations in general are great for everyday wear if you are wanting a light to
medium coverage which doesn't look of feel as if it's caked on. This new release is the same. Light to
medium in coverage, a dewy finish (I assume from th SPF 15) and a fantastic shade selection to
choose from. (x6 in this case).

This foundation comes in a glass tub with screw top lid which you can apply with a foundation
brush, clean fingers or sponge. The formula can look a little oily in there, so I like to give mine a
bit of a mix with my brush before using it.

It does last pretty much all day with just a powder touch up required on these super stinking hot days
we've been having lately. I like how light if feels on my skin and how natural it looks. Kinda like that
naked skin look.

Magnif'Eyes Eye Contouring Palette - Grunge Glamour
I am beginning to hoard quite a little collection of these kinds of eyeshadow palettes without quite
realising it until now. Thinking about it, it really isn't that hard to figure out the reasons why. Just look
at these gorgeous velvety shades! Ahh I cannot get enough of how smooth and easy to wear they are.

If you have seen, used or own the Urban Decay Naked Smoked eyeshadow palette then you can
pretty much see why I call this my smaller dupe version of that. These shades take you safely from
day all the way to midnight with those vampy daring shimmering dark colours toward the right end
of the palette.

The first four shades are much more subtle and make great brow highlights and neutral bases or for
a natural barely there day time makeup look.

These swatches below are shown when applied with a wet brush which really bring out their
pigmentation and drama. I would recommend applying with a good shadow primer or white cream
base to bring out the most of these if applying dry.

NEW LIPSTICKS

~  RIMMEL LONDON  ~
Moisture Renew Sheer & Shine Lipsticks!

I love makeup and when new products come along it is very exciting and fun for myself and beauty
lovers alike. But when it comes to lipsticks, my weakness when it comes to makeup I get weak at the
knees. My lipstick draw in my makeup collection is so bright and colourful it makes even the most
dark and dreary mornings better and lifts my mood. Playing with shades, texture and different
creative packing - I'm like a kid in a candy store!

These six brand new shades, each perfectly suitable year round in my opinion and each shade
cleverly selected as the most popular and most worn classic hues world wide.
Starting from top left - Red-y Set, Go! / Spin All Spring / Woke Up Like This / Better & Brighter /
Glow-Rious Pink / Pink Rules

This is the kind of selection of shades where everyone has their go-to. Mine being wearable pink.
Then there are those who always wear red or coral or nude. All are within this collection.

The shades are actually quite sheer with the pinks being especially subtle but still buildable if you are
after a bit more colour. My pout swatches below are coming up a bit brighter with the flash on. They
are almost like a tinted balm with all six shades containing a lovely hint of shimmer in them. Very
beautiful and recommended for that more natural I'm not wearing any makeup, makeup look.

Starting top left - Spin All Spring  / Better & Brighter /
Glow-Rious Pink / Woke Up Like This / Pink Rules / Red-y Set, Go!

Left to right - Better & Brighter, Woke Up Like This, Glow-Rious Pink, Pink Rules, Red-y Set, Go!,
Spin All Spring

I am loving the simple and feminine silver and pink casings. Totally my style and the colours
are truly beautiful and feel super smooth upon application.
These new Sheer & Shine lippies can be purchased from all the regular places where Rimmel
London is normally found like Priceline, Big W, Woolies, Coles, Chemist Warehouse & Target.
RRP $13.95 each!

What do you think of this new collection of Rimmel London lippies?
Which shade is your favourite?

NEW FROM RIMMEL

NEW!
FROM RIMMEL LONDON!

This clever little trio will save you so much space in your everyday makeup bag!
Instead of lugging three different products around, this 3 in 1 has it all together conveniently
right here housed in this gorgeous gold trimmed plastic case.

From top to bottom, it starts with a lovely champagne highlighter to brighten the skin where the light
would naturally hit like the cheekbones, brow bone, across the top of the nose and I also like to use
on the inner corners of my eyes to really open them up and this gives the illusion of larger eyes and a
more awake appearance.

In the centre is the contour/bronzing shade of a medium chocolate brown. I have found all of these
shades great in terms of pigmentation. There aren't over the top making you look like a clown but
give just enough colour to make them easy to blend and also look natural on the skin whilst bringing
out your natural best! The bronzer is great for really giving some definition to your overall face and
slimming down any areas of concern.

Last but certainly not least is the universally loved coral peachy pink toned blush perfect for everyday
wear and when built upon can then take you into the night with a natural looking healthy flushed
appearance. This is best used on the apples of your cheeks. I like to use this between where I have
highlighted and contoured.

This new makeup must have is very affordable at just RRP $16.95 and can be found at Priceline,
Big W, K-Mart, Woolworths, Coles, Target and selected pharmacies.

This is an interesting, unique product I have not come across before now, but I think the idea is
very clever! Designed to wear either under or over lipstick to keep lips conditioned and prevent
drying. Especially great if you're into matte as these are often the most drying.

You can see more from the Kate Moss collection here. :)

With Winter nearing and the weather starting to chill, I have noticed my lips becoming more dry
especially in the wind we have been having lately! This has been great just to wear on it's own as
you would a lip balm when I am at home out in the yard with my kids. Being housed in the very
pretty white lipstick case with bubblegum pink swirly font, it feels a bit more fancy than just
your regular clear balm.

You can pick this one up right now at your local Priceline, Woolies, Coles, Target, K-Mart, Big W
and selected pharmacies for a reasonable RRP $9.95.

This radiant skin perfecting skin tint is lightly fragranced and provides light coverage over my mid
30's 'normal' skin. The light/medium shade is the perfect match to my light olive skin which is neither
oily nor dry. This product does include an SPF factor of 15 which works well for me for casual daily
wear. Also available in Medium/Dark for 30ml at RRP $13.95 at Priceline, Target, Coles, Big W,
K-Mart, Woolworths and selected pharmacies.

I enjoy wearing this on it's own, much as I would a tinted moisturiser or BB/CC cream for a more
natural day time look. If you enjoy light coverage over a heavy full face foundation or prefer to keep
it simple on weekends then this is the product for you. I feel like this would also perfectly suit those
just getting into makeup or don't like to wear makeup, however may need to for an event or such as
the result it gives is so natural whilst still smoothing out the skin and giving it a beautiful glow.

LANCOME

~  LANCOME  ~

NEW

Renergie Multi-Lift!

Having turned 31 at the very beginning of the year really nailed it into me just how fast
my 30's are already progressing and how long ago my 20's seemed!

Now, more than ever I am focused on my anti-ageing skincare regime and fighting the inevitable battle of getting older.

When products like this one come my way I get so excited as this would not normally be a product
within my budget to purchase for myself.

This product is a luxe treat and one I am treating like a little tub of pure gold,
because at the end of the day, I'd rather have flawless, perfect skin than a tub of gold any day!
Vein? Yep!

My bedroom decor has a few mirrored furniture pieces and the packaging of this fits in like family.
The silver box with it's gold signature rose accent is so gorgeous and lady like.
The beauty only continues as you open up the box and delve inside the violet casing.

The formula has a rich, pretty scent which reminds me of a well kept older woman. Dripping in
pearls and diamonds with her make-up perfectly applied. Every time I apply this ulta light, creamy
gel like cream I imagine I will be like that in my 60's, 70's and beyond. (Or however long I last
on this earth!) Still looking around 30 when I'm in my 70's?! Yes please!

At the moment though, my skin is behaving pretty well. It seems to have grown out it it's acne
fit and it is a lot less oily than it used to be. I would classify my skin as normal with a few fine lines
around my eyes when I smile as well as those deep worry lines across my forehead. Other than that,
my skin is okay.

Since using this Lancome NEW Renergie Multi-Lift Cream, I have noticed my skin to feel much
softer. The skin on my neck and chest area seem to be much smoother and less irritated. I seem
to get random red rashes in this area about once a day whenever I am stressed or anxious and
I feel like this cream has calmed it all down since applying this cream.

As for the multi-lift effect. The only place I feel like has had gravity take to it a tiny bit is my cheeks.
In some photos I can tell they're not as plump as they once were.  After about a week of using this
cream twice daily, I can see, even without taking a picture, my skin has lifted ever so slightly!
I'm not sure how long the effect will last, but I am loving it! It makes so much difference to my
confidence, especially when I smile! So amazed as no other product I've used has ever achieved
this effect!

Overall a really lovely cream which I highly recommend. I don't see how anyone wouldn't
love using this and wouldn't love it!

VS3Q

~  VS SASSOON  ~

3Q Hair Dryer!

Recently I was asked to participate in VS Sassoon's 'Beautiful Hair Challenge' using thier new
3Q Hair Dryer. Of course I want more beautiful hair so how could I pass this opportunity up!

The 3Q's stand for Quick!, Quiet! & Quality

Quick because it literally takes about half the normal amount of time to dry your hair.
For me at least it usually takes at least 30 minutes. However with the 3Q it only takes 15 at the most!

Quiet is due to the unique and futuristic technology of the design of this clever dryer.
There are actually no brushes inside of it, hense the lighter feel to most other hair dryers saving
you from arm aches as you're blow drying. Due to this feature it makes the dryer so much
quieter! Clever! I especially love this feature as it means I can still style my hair using this as my
little ones are sleeping.

Quality. Just looking at the slick, silver design of this dryer you can see that it has class.
It doesn't look cheap and it isn't, yet it is still completely affordabe at just $172.95.

It comes complete with a concerntrated nozzle for more controlled, sleek styling as well as
a generous size diffuser to add body and texture to your 'do'!

There are two pressure and two heat settings as well as the cold shot button which is easy to
find due to the cute little snow flake pictured on it.

To prolong the life of your dryer and to keep it perfectly clean, the dryer also comes with it's
very own small cleaning brush. However VS Sassoon are so confident in their product you will
find this baby comes with a 5 year warranty! Impressive!

DREAM WONDER

MAYBELLINE

Dream Wonder Foundation!

I have been trialling this new foundation by Maybelline through Beautyheaven's
Trial Team over the past few weeks and despite hearing quite a bit of negativity
regarding this product, I have to say, I am really enjoying it!
The unique and different packaging in particular!

I have never used a foundation with an applicator wand like this.
When you unscrew the cap a long wand with a tear drop shape at the end appears
which I have found easiest to apply straight onto my skin in spots around my face
and then blend into my skin with either my fingers as recommended or my
beauty blender sponge which works a treat at spreading out the
formulation and concealing my imperfections seamlessly!

The glass bottle is only 20ml, so smaller than most other foundation bottles on
the market and smaller than any other in my collection.
I have a light skin tone that isn't fair or sensitive and I found the shade
Classic Ivory to be a perfect match!

Even though the formula contains an SPF of 20, it doesn't feel at all greasy, honestly!
In fact, upon application the liquid quickly dries and feels more to me like a powder!
It has a very smooth feeling to it and I found after about 10 minutes or so the
coverage appeared to go from light to more of a medium.
So I would recommend waiting a few minutes if you have the time before deciding
weather or not to add more foundation to your face to build up the coverage
as it seemed to look better as the day wore on. Having said that, the lasting ability
was also great! It easily lasted the day without the need for any kind of touching up
It also did not transfer onto any of my clothes which can be so annoying,
don't we all know it!?
The scent of this Maybelline Dream Wonder foundation is a little potent and may
bother some sensitive noses. However you cannot smell it once applied.
Only if you sniff the bottle upon opening it will you get a whiff of the high
alcohol content this formulation contains.

Overall, I would rate this foundation quite highly as I am really enjoying reaching
for it each day over my others at the moment and enjoying the unique way in
which it is applied and how it feels on my skin. At the end of the day my skin usually
feels a little greasy and appears a tad on the shiny side. Somehow this founation
reduces this! Perhaps it is the velvety, powder like finish. I think it is great!

I would happily and confidently recommend this product and would purchase
it for the current RRP of $21.95 (AU).
One of the better foundations I have tried in terms of how flawless it makes my skin look.

Have you tried this foundation?
What do you think of the unique looking wand?

NEW QV RANGE

~ EGO QV SKINCARE ~

&

NEW BABY RANGE!

Bath Oil
RRP: $11.20 (250ml)
I honestly haven't been all that impressed with bath oils in the past as I've found them to be pretty
boring and just make the bath super slippery! This however doesn't have the slip factor which I
can not stress how important that is as a mother! It is not uncommon for most people I know to
call me over protective of my kids and that I just need to chill out and let them go a bit. But I just
can't. My babies are everything to me and when they hurt, my heart is in my mouth and it is the
worst feeling!! (I am sure most mothers can relate!!)

I find when I add a cap full to the kids bath along with the QV Gentle Wash (see below) it creates
an ultra soothing, gentle, moisturising bath. Both my daughter & son's skin has become softer
since I've used this combination in their bath each night and they seem to be enjoying it. :)

Gentle Wash
RRP: $10.65 (250g)
When it comes to bath time, I generally bath both my 3 year old and 1 year old together.
It is just easier to kill two birds with one stone, so to speak! Plus they love splashing, playing
and washing each other. It's a lovely bonding time for them.
I have been loving using this in their bath because not only does it create some nice bubbles
which are always a big hit, but the two in one formula means it can be used both as a body and
a hair wash! Saves time and fiddling around with a bunch of different bottles when I need to be
focusing on making sure nobody slips over!

This has absolutely no fragrance and it is ultra moisturising and completely soap free!
My kids don't have any skin issues but I feel good knowing I am using a product that is gentle
on their skin and is designed especially with young little bodies in mind.

Barrier Cream
RRP: $7.95 (50g)
This paediatrician recommended Barrier Cream is great! With just one kid left in nappies,
(hallelujah!) I can focus using this holy and soley on just my 1 year old son. I change his
nappy regularly enough that it isn't often he develops a nappy rash, however there are some
times when irritation can occur in certain areas and this has worked amazingly well at soothing
and clearing up the effected area quickly.

I just apply this to his bottom and along the creases of skin as recommended on the tube after
each nappy change and it has kept him comfortable and his skin baby soft and smooth.

Moisturising Cream
RRP: $13.20 (250g)
This pH balanced, lanolin, fragrance and propylene glycol free moisturising cream is just lovely!
As part of our night time routine, all 3 of us moisturise our whole bodies after bathing/showering
before we get dressed for bed and whilst my skin prefers a nice, thick, rich night cream to keep
me looking youthful (well it's does it's best!) I have been keeping this QV Baby Moisturising
Cream especially just for them.

Whilst I love a variety of different scented body butters, creams and souffles, my little ones aren't
so keen. (Especially fussy little Miss 3!) So to be able to use a nice big tub of this which is
fragrance free is perfect as they don't question it and it doesn't irritate their sensitive little noses!

The fact that the QV brand itself was first developed in the Queen Victoria hospital back in 1975
beginning with their ever famous Bath Oil makes me feel at ease and I trust completely in this brand
and that it is the best range of products I could be using for my babies.

Hand Cream
RRP: $6.49 (50g)
Now onto this lovely, pampering, must have product for the hard working mums out there!
Most of us are aware that our hands are ones of the first parts of our bodies to show our age.
When you think about it, we use our hands probably more than another other part of our bodies.
Only over the past 5 or so years have I really begun to notice the stress my hands have been put
under over the years. I especially feel they get quite a beating from all of the cleaning I do/have done!
(Both at home and in various jobs I've had in the past.)

Applying a good hand cream is an essential part of my night time routine these days. I always keep
a tube or tub of it beside my bed to I can massage it into my hands, nails, cuticles and up to my
wrists each night right before I fall asleep. This QV Hand Cream has taken over prime position
lately and let me tell you, my hands feel so good come morning! They feel so soft and relaxed!
This stuff is so moisturising I'm even considering using it on my feet as they are a part of my
body which constantly need moisturising and always feel dry and the skin gets tough and hard the
moment I start neglecting it! >_<

Moisturising Day Cream
RRP: $14.99 (75g)
I have been after a new day cream for a while now as I've just been slapping on any old foundation
or BB cream I have needing to be used up. So whilst doing this I have been skipping the vital
step of moisturising my face and applying any kind of SPF! (Naughty! Naughty!!)

Since using this under whatever makeup worn (if any!) each day, has been really beneficial!
This contains a massive SPF of 30, which coming into QLD's stinking hot Summer is absolutely essential and I will be using this all throughout the new year for sure as I am demanded daily to play out in the yard with my 3 year old, playing in the sand pit and jumping on the trampoline whilst the weeds and stray bits of grass popping up in places they're not meant to looking on and mocking me! (Meanies!) >_<

I have normal type skin and this has been working well and completely agreeing with me
without any irritations or complaints. Highly recommend this one!

QV Skincare is available to purchase from the following stores...

Priceline
Chemist Warehouse
Chemmart Pharmacy
Amcal Pharmacy

+ more!
