NUDE BY NATURE

~  NUDE BY NATURE  ~

Pressed Natural Mineral Cover

http://www.nudebynature.com.au
Nude By Nature Pressed Mineral Powder in 'Light' - $39.95 (Shop!)

I have recently been using this lovely pressed mineral powder in the shade 'Light' which is my general shade when it comes to facial makeup products as my skin is quite light, but not fair. Upon opening the very glam packaging (sleek box and cloth pouch complete with dark brown round compact & sponge) I was quite surprised at how dark the powder appeared! I had to double check I had the correct shade, which I did. (Phew!)

I usually do not like to use any kind of sponge when it comes to applying makeup as for me the product seems to get lost in the sponge and does not transfer well onto my skin. However this sponge wasn't too bad, still I prefer to use a fluffy brush as it seems to get the powder the cover more even and give a more flawless finish.
I am really impressed with the coverage, especially when it comes to my pores. Mine are a bit big around my cheeks near my nose and the powder covered them quite well without settling into them even towards the end of the day which is what I normally experience.
I am enjoying the light feeling this gives on my skin and I find I can get away without having to touch up throughout the day, however as it gets hotter as Summer approaches I am sure I may need to at least once as I tend to get a bit oily when it gets super hot.

Big points to Nude By Nature for being cruelty free, naturally derived and Australian made!
A beautiful product I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a new pressed powder to try. A great handy size which fits perfectly into a small makeup bag or purse and the mirror is a 100% must for me as I am always rummerging around my bag in search of mine which seems to live a life of it's own and only reappears once I have given up looking for it
and no longer need it!

DINING ROOM UPDATE

~ DINING ROOM ~

UPDATED

Hauled from IKEA!

Like a breath of fresh air, I instantly feel both energised and calm
at the same time when something in my home is updated.
It makes me so happy to be rid of my old, outdated and totally just not me
decor and in with a brand new style that lifts my mood whenever I see it.

This is the Glivarp table and Henriksdal chairs with washable covers (perfect with grubby
young kids around!) match perfectly with the rest of my updated decor.
The chair covers are an exact match to our new couch so that was a lucky
find and I am beyond stoked about that!

As you can see we only have 3 chairs which looks a bit odd.
Unfortunately there were only 3 left in stock so we have to go back
sometime in the coming weeks to pick up the fourth chair.

The table has a clear top which extends and will eventually match the coffee
table I have my eye on which is basically identical, only coffee table size! :)
The chrome/mirrored frame tie in with the bedsides and vanity in our
bedroom and the Morum rug just makes it all look a bit more cozy and elegant,
instead of just having the white tiles completely exposed underneath
and around the dining area.

My vase (purchased from Target) is not new, but I think it looks perfect in the space.
The placemat it sits on I purchased in a previous haul.
I'd like to add some nice placemats for each setting and perhaps a table runner
to help keep the table from getting scratches etc.
But for now I am in love and very happy!

Flowers courtesy of my beautiful husband who has been so kind
spoiling me lately as we've all been quite sick lately.
(Hence why I am a bit behind in my posts, so sorry!)

SCUNCI

~ New Scunci Goodies! ~

Everyday & Active 6 Pack Knotted Ponytailers

I love this bright, fun array of happy colours!
I have used this style of hair tie before and at first was skeptical if they'd
even hold my hair up, but they're actually really flexible and super strong!
I love that these are gentle on your hair and so comfortable to wear.

Everyday & Active No Damage Reflective Hair Ties

These are the perfect combination because not only do you get a generous
32 hair ties (because we all know they try to be like bobby pins & disappear!)
but they are also snag and damage free with no annoying metals in them.
I like them because they are thick so they don't stretch or snap like thinner
elastics always do, especially with thick hair, these are so strong and hold
my hair firmly in place all day. What's different about this cool new active
range are the light reflecting patterns which are the white bits in the hair tie
shown above. They look like the reflects on a bike light or guide post you see
along a road. Very cool especially worn in the sun or at night!

Expandable & No Slip Grip Headbands

I am so excited to wear these as I don't have a lot of brown or black hair
accessories.  I particularly am interested in the expandable
leopard print ones as the design of them is quite unique.
They can even fold up to fit into your pocket! Perfect for travelling
and hair emergencies!

Conair Fog Free Shower Mirror

I have never had a mirror in the shower before, so this will be interesting!
I'm not sure what I'll use it for... perhaps to apply a face mask or make sure I don't
miss a spot when washing my face or hair? I'm sure it will come in handy
none the less! It is fog free, so that is brilliant. It also has 3 strong, large
suction cups to firmly secure it in place. I think the handy little soap/razor
holder at the bottom is a clever little extra. :)

Watch for future hair styles and reviews with all of the above!

:)

What kinds of hair accessories do you like to wear?
Do you a shower mirror? If so, what do you use it for?

WHATS ON MY BEDSIDE TABLE TAG

~ What's On My Bedside Table ~

Tag!

Since there is minimal space on top of my bedside table and with my lamp
taking up the majority of space, I prefer to keep it as clutter free as I can.
As you can see, I only keep the bare essentials.

Lamp
I have no idea where you can purchase these lamps as I was gifted two of
them from my mum years and years ago! I love the soft pink colour mixed with
the white shade and the flower is just a hair/brooch I added for an extra girlie touch!

Baby Monitor
Three years ago when I was pregnant with my first, my workmates all pitched
in to buy me this baby monitor.  It been awesome, no problems with it at all.
I couldn't go to sleep without it by my side to keep an eye and ear on my little ones
through the night.

Clean Sweep Book
This book I have purposely kept here to keep me constantly reminded of all the
cleaning and de-cluttering I still need to do. It is an amazing source of tips and
tricks to help you clean and organize just about anything!!

Samsung Android Phone
I don't seem to have much luck with mobile phones.
My last two broke from my little miss dropping them. *sigh*
Hopefully this one lasts longer than a few months, I am quite liking it and
it's such a pain to change all the time. Am keen to update the case to a more sparkly
design though. :)

Have you done this tag?
What's on your bedside table?

What's On My Vanity! - Vanity Tour!

So today I thought I'd share with you my vanity, what I keep on it and in it. :)
I've seen lots of other people's tours and have found them great for ideas and inspiration.
So without further a due, here is mine!

When we first got our bedside draws home and opened the boxes, one of them had a tiny chip on one of the edges, very small, but still it bugged me, I had worked really hard to save for these, I had wanted them for a long time and they should be perfect for the price paid. So we had a new one ordered in and swapped them over. The four of us weren't all going to fit in the car, so my husband went to do it whilst I stayed home with the kids.

When he arrived home he actually surprised me with this beautiful matching vanity! Because he had to go to the warehouse, not the shop, it turns out the warehouse is where all of the damaged stock goes and is sold off cheap. My husband knew I loved this kind of style and saw the vanity there which was in a lot better shape than most other pieces. It just has a crack which you can most likely see in the photo above, just about the draw on the right. We just need to order a new piece of glass to replace it and it'll be good as new and a total bargain! :)

x3 Small White Photo Frames
-
My sister-in-law & family gave these to me for Christmas and I absolutely love them!
I just need to find some beautiful photos of my babies to put in them. :)

Nic Nacks
-
Candle/Mini Vase/Fake Pink Rose/Tiny Silver Trinket Box/Pink Bling Pen

Glasshouse Candle in Ilima Milk & Honey
-
This was in my box of goodies from Beautyheaven for winning the 2013 Blogstar Awards, best how-to video.  I don't want to burn it, but it smells devine!

Swarovski Heart Necklace
-
My husband bought this for me way back in 2008 on Valentines Day.  We had just got engaged and were on a cruise. Best holiday ever! 💑

Swarovski Trinket Jewellery Box
-
Can you tell I love Swarovski? This is a buildable stacking style trinket box. I just have the one though. You can keep buying and building as high as you like. Pretty cool design concept! This was my 2 year wedding anniversary gift from hubby.
Secrets Jewellery Boxes
-
As I am writing this blog post, I'm beginning to realize just how much my vanity seems to consist mostly of gifts from my hubby. I guess this has just ended up being where I store some of my most precious and sentimental pieces.
I am in no way intending to brag, please keep in mind these gifts are spread out over the 7 years we have been together. My husband works extremely hard in order to be able to spoil me every now and again. He is very sweet and I am extremely grateful and lucky to have him in my life. ♡

3 Mirror Storage Draws
-
I bought this set of draws from Target here in Australia probably close to about 8 years ago! Way before my obsession with this style became apparent.
If I recall correctly, they cost around the $30-$40 mark.

Crystal Lamp with White Shade & Diamonte Crown
-
Starting off with the diamonte crown. This was bought on sale for $5 from a cheap jewellery store that I have just placed there cos it looks pretty. :)
The lamp itself was heavily reduced from Target many years ago because it was missing some of its hanging crystals. Think I only paid about $15 for it.

x2 Pretty Storage Boxes & Decorative Pillows
-
Until I get a matching set of storage draws for my clothes, at the moment I just have my PJ tops in the top box and PJ bottoms in the bottom box.
The decorative sequin pillows were the ones I used to have on my bed. Now I'm unsure where to put them.

I won't show you is in my draws as I'm sure you wouldn't be interested in my bras & underwear! Haha.

If you have any blog topic requests, please let me know in the comments below!
I am trying to blog something new every week day so some ideas on what you're interested in as my readers, would really help.

Home Decor Wish List!

When it comes to the space I surround myself in each day I want it to be as beautiful and pretty as possible. This takes a lot of time and effort to stay this way with two little ones running the show! With white being my current favourite hue, it is also the hardest colour to actually stay white! With that said, I refuse the give up on it as my days of bold and brights are over. Time to limit the hot pink and grow up a bit.

If you missed my bedroom makeover post, you can read how I've gotten started here.

And now for the fun part..... My home decor wish list from window shopping online. Not as fun as actually filling up a cart and receiving a mountain load of boxes in the mail, but as close as I'm going to get for the moment.

Let's begin!

White Leather Black Jewel Studded Sofa

White Leather Black Jewel +Piping Lounge Chairs
(Not a perfect match to the sofa, but good enough I say!)

In a fantasy world, I'd want one of these in every room in the house, including the spare toilet room.... something pretty to gaze up at whilst you go about your business perhaps?! :)

Famous Ikea Mirror Black
These are so popular but I just can't help myself, I want one too!
I'm thinking I'd like to put this above my shoe bookshelf.

Somewhere to store my costume jewellery.
I wish I could say I'd fill it with diamonds, pearls and the like, but I currently only have enough really nice pieces to fill my little Swarovski box hubby gave me for our 3 year wedding anniversary last year. I worked and managed a popular cheap jewellery store some years ago so my collection grew out of control during that time!

I love the little details to be perfect too. This is gorgeous!
No need to worry about finding the nicest box left in the shop.

Continuing with the finer details...

Dining room table and chairs.
(Rug not included) ;)

Ideal coffee table with hidden storage compartments!

I think just about every nail polish addict has at least one of these. They don't come cheap, this one is around $60! But I'd love to hang this on the wall and fill it. :)

Last but not least, something colourful I just couldn't ignore!
I think a pair of hot pink peacock chairs would be perfect for my garden!
I figure they're outside so won't clash with the rest of my inside plans. :)

See anything on my wish list that you like?
What are you lusting after at the moment?

Home Decor - Bedroom Makeover in Progress!

Hello, and welcome to my very first Home Decor dedicated blog post!
Home Decor has only recently become a new obsession of mine over about the past year.
I am a self confessed hoarder, ok, nowhere near as crazy as you see on those TV shows, but over the years I have just held onto too much stuff and bought way too much crap that I may have loved in my late teens & early 20's, but now I'm 30 I am beginning to wonder why I wasted so much of my hard earned cash on such useless crap.

About a year or so ago I begun to pay more attention to home decor websites & stores as well as gaining inspiration from YouTube videos and the more and more I browsed, the more and more I discovered what I really loved and what my style is. I found myself looking around my home & none of what I was seeing was what I really wanted and I started to envision how I wanted every room in the house to look and this really motivated me to make a change.

Somewhere I read a quote that really helped me to see my possessions differently and whenever I need to do a clear out I always run this through my head and it has completely changed my outlook and totally helped me to throw stuff away without regret.

The quote reads...

"If you don't love it, why keep it? Fill your home only with that of which you truly love!"

Simple & makes perfect sense, and once applied I have found, so far, my home is slowly becoming what I truly love, and everywhere I look I want that feeling, I don't want to look somewhere and think, "Wow, what a mess!" or "Ah, where am I going to fit all this!"

Even today, I was upstairs with my 2 1/2 year old daughter and we were going through her wardrobe and boxing up clothes she has grown out of and I found myself finding all sorts of stuff that has gone into the bin. Mainly, parenting magazines, a mountain load of brochures you get given at the hospital and doctor visits when you are pregnant and have your baby, but mainly I found a lot of old stuffed toys and REALLY old clothes that my grandma probably wore as a baby that various relatives had given me. And honestly, I understand the sentimental value of these things and not so long ago I would never have dreamed out parting with them. But at the end of the day, it is just STUFF and I am over relatives off loading stuff to me just so they don't have to hoard it around. I'm over it, so in the bin 99% of it went. It is never going to be used or seen, it is just taking up space living in a box. Useless.

That explained, my bedroom is where the most progress has been made and I am so excited about it, I hope me sharing this motivates and/or inspires someone out there who is a hoarder or maybe just hasn't even thought of updating their decor and maybe they can see the beauty on the other side if they get stuck in there and make some changes. :)

My husband and I were out shopping a few months ago now when I was still pregnant with my 2nd bub who is now 5 months and we walked passed this store called 'Beds & Dreams' and right in the doorway as we walked passed was the most beautiful bed I have EVER seen & it literally stopped me in my tracks.

White Leather Milan Bed Diamond Button Detailing

This picture really doesn't do it justice, it is just gorgeous!
My current bed at the time was the bed I'd had since my previous relationship more than six years ago and was a brown, timber oak style bed, which was all kinds of wrong in terms of my plans for redecorating. It was time to update! So it was actually my husband who got the ball rolling, telling me to list the bed on eBay and the put money I get from the sale towards this new bed instead of just dreaming about it. Genius that he is, I don't know why I hadn't even thought about doing that! So that's what I did and it finally arrived early last week and one broken pot plant from the delivery guys trying to load the bed frame up into our bedroom balcony doorway because it was too big to fit up the stairs and two full loads of the recycle wheelie bin later, and I am sleeping on a bed that looks like a cloud! Yay! :D

What dream bed wouldn't be complete without the perfect bedding to match, right? This was all a major splurge, but let me tell you, I haven't had a proper set of new bed linen in a LONG time, so this was totally justified, plus I chucked out some old sheets & towels, etc to make way for the new stuff and as most of it is childish looking and pink galore, I've given some of it to my daughter to use on her bed.

Logan & Mason Ultima Solitaire

As far as bedside tables go, I had been using a super duper old set that were left to me by my ex that I'd painted white and stuck on pink flowers to make the knobs prettier which I loved for a while, but now just look childish to me. So I have replaced them with these.

Far Pavilions Emma Bedsides

Here is a before & after photo of the old & now the new!

This is what my old bed looked like....

If you follow me on Instagram, you may have already seen these next pix...
Now the new bed, bedding & bedsides look after... big difference!

Then I saw some cushions & a throw on Ozsale & ended up getting those to change the colour theme from silver, white & pink to silver, black & white.

I'm in two minds about it now & am not 100% sure which colour theme I prefer.
I would love an outsiders opinion so please let me know below which one you like better!

Thanks! :)
