VDAY NAILS

~ VALENTINE'S DAY ~
(Last Minute!)
Nail Art Inspo!

Just one more sleep away before we all wake up to celebrate the day of love!

If you're stuck into your pampering tonight and need some nail inspo, then here is
my little input for you. However, if you're after some seriously creative attention grabbing
pointers, then I highly recommend checking out Pinterest, trush me the inspo there is
definitely not lacking! Just make sure you don't get too distracted gawking and forget to
actually paint your own! (Speaking from experience here!)
Featuring -

I painted each of my nails in the classic romantic red from Maybelline in
'Keep Up The Flame' and applied a few coats of 'Glitter It' over the top on my
signature nail for added glamour and romance.

The finish off this V'Day nail art, I applied 5 of the silver embellishments onto my
signature nail over the top of 'Glitter It' whilst it was still wet so as the polish dried it
made the little stones stick! I then used the end of an old liquid liner wand/brush (washed
of any black liner remains of course!) to dip into 'Glitter It' for just a tiny drop to make these
cute little red hearts stick to each of my remaining nails. :)

I love having my nails painted. They don't have to be fancy or professionally done.
Just having some colour on them makes me happy and lifts my mood.

What are you up to tonight? Are you doing any V'Day beauty prep?

DECEMBER FAVOURITES

~ DECEMBER FAVOURITES ~
2014!

Nails!
Fuse gelnamel in 'Gone Fission'
This is one of the prettiest pink glitter polishes I've tried. Tie that in with the fact that it has a
gel finish and you have yourself a double whammy! I love that the glitter appears to be rainbow
coloured too so it looks extra sparkly!

Fing'rs Heart 2 Heart Glitter Nail Art
Anyone who is glitter obsessed and who likes to dabble in nail art will love these cute little
tubes! They make such a pretty statement nail which is what I love using these for in particular.
Stay tuned for some nail arty posts coming soon using these!

Face/Body!
Lush 'So White' Shower Gel
Ok, so this looks, smells and feels gorgeous! It has a subtle shimmer throughout it and contains
apple infusion, rose water, bergamot and neroil oils which combined make a luxurious mix!
I love to use this both in the shower or bath!

Sukin Facial Moisturiser
This is a moisturiser you can count on to use any time of the year, day and night!
It just always feels good, no matter what mood my skin is in! I also like to use this every now
and again on my knees which can sometimes get quite dry and it softens them up beautifully!

I am obsessed with facial and body oils at the moment and bonus points if it has a dropper!
Makes it all that more fancy and I love using the product in this manner. I like to use this both
morning and night before applying my Sukin Facial Moisturiser as it makes my tired skin appear
less puffy in the morning and relaxes it at night.

Makeup!
MAC Objects Of Affection Nude + Red Lip Gloss Set
Luck was clearly on my side when I was fortunate enough to win this divine foursome
from the super generous and gorgeous Hailey from 'The Beauty In Life'. If you don't already follow and read her blog, you are seriously missing out!! She has a raw, honest and funny as heck way
of writing which I can't get enough of! Her posts always make me smile, laugh and
nod in agreement, as I can relate to her in many ways. #bloglove

Maybelline Color Whisper in 'Oh La Lilac'
After receiving this in my Girlfriend edition of 'The Parcel' I have been using this non stop!
It just gives a slight, almost Barbie like tint of colour to my lips which I love, without looking
too plastic. It's like a nude pink is that makes any kind of sense?! Gah, I just adore it!!

Maybelline Color Tattoo in 'Barely Branded'
I picked this up not that long ago when Coles had Maybelline at half price because I was
sick of hearing how amazing this shade was everywhere I turned and wanted to see for myself!
Turns out everyone had good reason to go on and on about it because it is the bomb dot com
people! Well and truly! It is the perfect eyebrow and cheek highlighter and even works incredibly
well as an eyeshadow base and inner corner eye brightener. Go get it!!!

Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Liner in 'Blackest Black'
Also picked up this for half price and now I've been using it I would happily pay the full
price because it is awesome! Believe it or not, this is my first experience with a gel liner.
Yep, I was a gel liner virgin until recently having been so comfortable in my relationship with
good old trusty liquid, I needed to step out of my comfort zone and see what all the fuss was about.
So fun to work with and hasn't shown signs of drying out, so hopefully this will last until I use
it all up!

Yep, another Maybelline product! Whoops, I honestly really just love their products!
They just seem to never fail me. This one was recently sent to me to review from Beautyheaven
and despite hearing a lot of dislike around it, I can't see what the big problem with it is.
Works like a dream for me on my skin. Makes everything look smooth, matte and flawless.

Rimmel London Lasting Finish Foundation in '#102 Light Nude'
Before trialling the Dream Wonder, I was using this baby a lot and it's pretty great!
It doesn't give flawless coverage, however it does a good job to use for an everyday foundation.
The colour match is perfect for my skin and it lasts from early in the morning till late at night
without the need to touch up. Has a dewy finish and a nice pump which makes it super easy to
use as I am constantly applying my makeup in the car whenever we go out somewhere as it is
my way of multi-tasking. So with the kids strapped in the back seat, I am free for a while
to put my 'face' on in peace! ;)

This is perfect for the everyday eye and so handy because all the shades I need are all in one place!
They are also great if you want to make your look more intense as they are easy to build the
shades up to make them appear more bold and smokey! I have especially been enjoying a new
to me technique of applying the bottom shadow to line around my eyes. It makes your eyes
appear more defined, yet still totally appropriate for your simple, everyday look.

Do we have any of the same favs?
Let me know yours below! :)

FUSE GELNAMEL

~ FUSE GELNAMEL ~

Sensationail Starter Kit

Review!

When it comes to DIY manis and pedis at home, I am always stuck for the time it takes for my
polish to dry. Most polishes, no matter how pretty, just take way too long to dry and always end
up getting completely ruined even before I get the chance to leave the house and enjoy them for
just one day!

I have heard so much hype around Gel manis this year and how amazing and long last they are,
that I knew, I just knew I had to try it out because it seems to be the perfect solution to all of my
nail nightmares! Taking only 30 short seconds to completely dry? How could I not love this?!

This Fuse kit seems like a great place to start. It comes with everything I could possibly need
to begin painting...

Fuse Gelnamel Polish in 'Na-No Way!'
Fuse Cleanser
 LED Lamp
Lint Free Wipes
Double Sided Nail Buffer
Manicure Stick
Easy To Follow Instruction Booklet

RRP: $49.99

What I find mind blowing about this whole kit, is the fact that no base nor top coat is needed!
The Gelnamel is an all in one formula that requires just one coat which in turn gives you a
perfectly polished, shiny, strong as 'nails' pop of colour finish! I can't believe how easy and
effective the whole kit is! Definitely worth what seems to be quite a hefty price tag for you
DIY mani/pedi. However think of it like this - It's salon quality at home. It's longer lasting!
The kit contains more than just your regular run of the mill nail polish as this contains your
base & top coat plus polish colour all in one! And most importantly to me, the dry time saves
you a bad mood for the rest of the day because you haven't ruined all your hard work waiting
around for it to dry! Nobody has time for that! Especially not me!

Apart from the fact that I can't paint my nails neatly to save myself, that aside,
you can't deny the vibrant colour and incredible shine this polish portrays.
I already know this polish is going to last because I've already tried to pick and
scratch at it, just to see if it passes the 'CandyFairy Blogs Test!'
So far so good!

Other incredibly gorgeous Fuse Gelnamel nail shades include -
E-Motion (Purple), Such A Laser (Gold Shimmer), Lightening Jolt (Magenta + Glitter),
Gone Fission ( Baby Pink + Glitter).

RRP: $14.99each

GLITTER NAILS

~ Nails Of The Day! ~

Turquoise & Silver

(Pinterest Inspired)

It's the easiest thing to completely loose all sense of time whilst browsing
on Pinterest! There is so much to see and be inspired by.
If you're ever stuck for blog post ideas, beauty, fashion and decor
updates, this is the place to go! I have often reluctantly dragged myself
away often feeling overwhelmed with new ideas that I often don't know
where to begin! Every time though, without a doubt, I am completely
motivated! I can't get enough of it!

(Cheeky sneak peek at a new decor item purchased over the weekend... who wants to see more?
I might do a haul/updated living room post?)

Recently I have been seeing a lot of beautiful fashion and makeup looks
featuring loads of glitter. It must be a big trend at the moment because it is
everywhere! Suits me fine, I have always been glitter obsessed.
There is no denying it's pure beauty.

To create this nail bling is actually much easier than you might think.
The only actual nail polish I used was a clear top coat!
The rest is just loose glitter purchased from a craft shop.

The clear polish acts like glue, sticking the loose glitter to you nail.
Finish with the clear polish over the top to secure the glitter helping it
stay in place and last longer as you would do with any other regular mani.

Done!

It's as simple as that!
I saw a really beautiful hair style using glitter too which I am keep
to recreate. Let me know if you'd like to see that!? :)

NOTD

~ Nails Of The Day ~

Featuring

Sally Hansen & Face Of Australia

Sally Hansen Gem Crush in Razzle Dazzler (Right)
Face Of Australia in Polyester Girl (Left)

This is such a beautiful blend of medium and fine glitter.
The finer glitter making up the gorgeous soft pink shade,
and slightly larger silver specks mixed generously throughout for extra dazzle!

I can't go past a hot pink nail polish, I don't care what time of
the year it is. The formula of this is runnier than most, but it
still goes on opaque with just one coat.

Do you like to get creative with nail art?

NOTD

~ Winter Nails Of The Day! ~

(Chevron Inspired!)
Well.... It sort of worked!)

I love sporting adventurous looking nails.
I also love interesting textures and patterns and all of the
amazing amd creative art that can be created on such a small canvas.
Today I was inspired by the cold, rainy, winter day and since it has been
a while since I last posted a NOTD post, I thought,
why not cease this rare, creative moment!

I am definitely and obviously no expert when it comes to nail art!
This is my first try at the popular Chevron pattern that is so in style right now!
Not only on nail art. I have also noticed it predominantly dominaing home decor
and I am totally falling in love with it!
Omg, my style is modernising!

TOOLS!

STEP #1
Remove any old nail polish with soft cotton balls and nail polish remover.
Prep your nails and paint with the shade of your choice.

STEP #2
Once dry, cut thin strips of matte sticky tape.
(Matte seems to be less sticky and less likely
the peel off your nail colour)
Arrange them in a zig zag pattern across each nail.

STEP #3
Apply a clear top coat to your nails.
Start one nail at a time as the clear polish will dry quickly
and you will need it wet for the loose glitter to stick.

STEP #4
Place your finger face nail side down into your glitter pot.
This is a less messy method than sprinkling the glitter and having
it go everywhere. Your nail will come out looking completely covered
in glitter. Don't panic! :)

STEP #5
Repeat step #4 with the rest of your nails
and let dry for a minute or two.

STEP #6
Once dry you can use either some cotton tips or a fluffy brush to
dust away any excess glitter from around your nails.
Then carefully begin to peel off all of the matte
tape from each nail.

STEP #7
Secure any fall out of glitter and to prolong
your efforts, finish with a clear top coat.

Wala!
All done! :)

Mine is far from perfect, so don't stress if it doesn't turn
out super neat. You're the only one who'll see it up close enough to
see all the tiny little flaws.
It looks much better from a distance anyway!

NOTD - AUTUMN NAILS!

I'm beginning to come to the realization that I am addicted to nail polish.
So if you've been following my blog, you might have noticed
I've begun to post a NOTD once a week.
This is a lot of fun and a bit of a challenge for me as it makes
me think of something interesting to do with my nails and
it gives me an excuse to actually paint them.
Like I need an excuse! ;)

Here is what I've been loving this season for Autumn!
These shades scream Autumn to me as they represent the colour
of the changing leaves. They remind me of nature and make me feel
kind of like a nature faerie. If you haven't realized it yet I am kind of
obsessed with all things mystical and fae. Hence my username. :)

NOTD Featuring:
-
Sally Hansen Magnetic in Kinetic Copper
I didn't bother using the magnetic effect as I feel
this polish shade is beautiful enough as it is!

OPI in Just Spotted The Lizard
Used on the tips of my nails

OPI The Living Daylights
Used on my ring finger feature nail

What polish shades or trends are you loving this season?

Thank you for your continued support!
Hope to see you here again tomorrow.

NOTD - Nails Of The Day!

Featuring...

OPI Liquid Sands in Pussy Galore
Sally Hansen in Big Money

This is my first experience using a liquid sand style of polish and at
first I wasn't sure if I liked it as I love a shiny, glossy finish,
but now I've gotten used to it and absolutely love the
texture and it also photographs beautifully!
The pink shade is also just divine!

I was tempted to paint all of my nails with this
Sally Hansen glitter polish, but restrained myself
and decided to just do one feature nail
and then do the tips of the rest.
Totally loving the final result! :)

What are your favourite polish combos?
