PLATINUM MAKEUP BRUSHES

INTRODUCING...

NEW!

- PLATINUM MAKEUP BRUSHES -

http://www.platinumbeauty.com.au

So you probably own at least one set of makeup brushes. You have your favourites, you know those
3 or 4 you reach for every single time you put on your makeup? How great are the quality of your
brushes though? Could be better? Softer? Less hairs falling out of them? I know personally for me
that stray hair which falls out of my blush brush every! single! day! I could definitely live without!

Using a fresh, clean, brand new makeup brush is always a nice feeling and if you're after that kind of
satisfaction in your daily makeup routine at the moment, then let me temp you with these modern,
gun metal grey, shiny new, sooooft good quality brushes, available ever so conveniently as you do
you grocery shop at where else but your local Woolies!

There are 5 of these beauties in the Platinum collection and each with it's own essential role to play.
Let me run you through each of the 4 which I have been using in my collection over the past few
months.

Contour Eye Brush
This tapered brush is perfect for creating definition and shadows to your eye's crease. Blend your
shadow into this area and blend with these super smooth, soft hairs. Within a few strokes I have
found my shadow to blend effortlessly, even when I use my cheaper branded makeup!
RRP $10.00

Eye Shadow Brush
Aside from the Blush Brush (which I will talk about soon!) this Eye Shadow Brush is my most used
brush! If your budget is tight, then you could probably get away with skipping on the Contour Eye
Brush and just using this one to complete your all over eye look. I still prefer to use both of these for
creating a more defined eye and precise definition, however this brush with a little practice can do it
all.

The hairs on this brush are slightly shorter and the shape is more rounded. This makes it easy to pack
on your desired shadow shade all over the base of your lid. Then using your Contour Eye Brush (or
this one if you brush off the excess shadow shade before changing colours for contouring) blending in
your usual slightly darker shade into the crease and then highlighting along the brow bone, inner
corner of the eye and where ever else you feel helps you eyes to really pop and look larger and more
awake. RRP $10.00

Base Blending Brush
We all have our own preference when it comes to how we choose to apply foundation. For years I
just found it so much quicker and easier to just use my (clean!) fingers. This method works amazingly
well because there is no chance of leaving behind brush strokes and everything is blended and spread
out well and evenly from the warmth in my fingers. I do still use this method on occasion, however
since discovering the magic of the trusty makeup sponge, I pretty much apply my liquid this way.

So how does this Base Blending Brush come into it? Well generally I will use this brush with my
loose powder to set my liquid foundation as it seems to blend the powder out all over my face instead
of it just sitting where it lands so to speak. However this brush is also designed to use with liquid
foundation to blend everything out nice and smoothly and gives quite a flawless finish in the few
times I have given this method a try. RRP $15.00

Blush Brush
This brush is super light and nicely fluffy and just perfect for applying blush! The hairs on this brush
seem to just pick up the right amount of product to apply to the apples of my cheeks which I then
sweet slightly upwards towards my cheekbones. Then naturally following up with a little bit of
highlight. Everyone loves highlight right now! Including me, obvs! RRP $19.00

- - -

The 5th brush in this collection which I haven't yet had the chance to try is the Platinum Power
Brush. As the name suggests, this is to use to apply your powder foundation, setting powder and
banana powder, etc! RRP $20.00

Platinum Makeup Brushes are available exclusively at selected Woolworths stores Australia wide.

How do you apply foundation? Brush, sponge, fingers or another method?

SO...?

~  So...?  ~

S u p e r s t a r !

Far from being a real life Superstar it is nice every now and again to spray on a sassy scent and
just pretend. Even if it is just singing into my hair brush whilst picking up dirty clothes and toys
around the house.

I am addicted to this scent lately. It is so nice and fresh and works for both day and night.
With top notes of passion fruit orange, pomegranate & passionfruit, middle notes of freesia, lilly of
the valley & heliotrope and base notes of cedarwood, almond & musk. This unique blend makes me
a little nostalgic as both the brand So...? and this particular scent reminds me of my youth and being
a teenager.

This 30ml bottle has a secure round dome cap and is easy to spray. I found the scent to linger
for a good few hours before the need to re-spray. A nice size to travel with and fits nicely into my
average size handbag.

A cool, sassy scent perfect for bringing in the new year!

Other fragrances available from the So...? range include -
 So...? Kiss Me
 Brit
 Eternal
 Sensual
Sexy
Sinful
 So...? (Original)

Currently RRP $14.95 available to purchase from Priceline and
Big W.

BEAUTORIUM

~  Beautorium  ~

Beautyheaven Rewards

(December 2015!)

http://www.beautyheaven.com.au

One of those little things which make your day just that little bit better and more exciting than bills
arriving in the mail is when Beautyheaven open their (virtual) doors to their online shopping event
that is Beautorium. Where loyal members (such as moi) can redeem their points accumulated
from participation on the site for beauty products available in the 'shop'! Hooray!

As usual I have absolutely NO self control (I did try, really I did!) and spent all of my points.
Yep my balance is back to literally zero! Time to get busy again with reviews, comments and
referrals for the next event rumoured to be held in April 2016. Too exciting! :)

Enough babble, onto the items I spent all my points on...

If you know me than you know I am Kora obsessed! I love the range of certified organic products
and ingredients. They feel so nice on the skin. I am so happy to have been able to pick up this
body wash for 750 points. It is a good 150ml and retails for $37.50. On the pricier side for a body
wash so very happy to have picked it up for free! There were also a few other Kora products in
the shop, however I didn't have enough points to splurge on them all. Hopefully they will still be
available in April. This one has been added to my Kora collection of Day & Night Cream &

MOR Pepperberry & Cardamon Hand & Body Wash
Ah MOR is such a luxury brand to me. I have always found their products to be ultra rich and
always smell ah-mazing! This one is no exception with the blend of Pepperberry and Cardamon
smelling very sweet and like black berries! Reminds me a little of Lush Snow Fairy. :)
On the steep side at 500 points, however quite a large 350ml which should last a while.

Schick Intuition Coconut Milk & Almond Oil Razor
This product is no stranger to me having first used it in a trial for Beautyheaven and then continuing
to stock up on it in a past few Beautoirums. This is my all time favourite razor! The smell is so
yummy and creamy as it the formulation of the moisture block which makes shaving so smooth and
gentle and easy! I just love it! This cost me 260 points. (Review!)

T.B.N. Nail Colour in Little Miss Mila & In The Nude
There where quite a few other shades to choose from in the shop but I ended up settling on one of
my fav classic hot barbie pinks and a nude as I am slowing creeping into liking that kind of neutral
hue. Only 50 points each, a complete steal and I cannot wait to paint with these!

Romantic Colour Eyeshadow Palette by T.B.N.
I almost didn't get this last product, however I spent all of my points on the very last day of
Beautorium and thought what the hell why not? At only 100 points I couldn't resist. There was also
another colour variation available which were all black/greys which I feel would be a little too
dramatic for me so I decided to go with these gorgeous soft pinks, burgundy, charcoal and white
highlight. I have not tried any products from TBN before so I cannot wait! So much fun to be had I
am sure!

Bonus FREE Samples!
If you are a regular BH member or Beautoirum alumni then you would be well aware Beautyheaven
always throw in a few free samples with your order and this time around these are the ones which
came in my haul. So very happy with them and of course super excited to try some newbies! Woo!

FACE AND BODY

~  Australian Bush Flower Essences  ~

Love System

Gentle Purifying Mask & Exfoliating Cream!

It seems quite common now a days to find a wide range of different multi use products, however
I don't recall coming across too many exfoliating/mask products for both the face and body do you?

I am a big fan of this certified organic, Australian brand having previously tried and loved a range of
their Love System products already and honestly, simply can't get enough of them! All of their
products give off this amazing natural aroma which you can't mistake for anything but smelling like
Australia! I am proud to be fourth generation Aussie and both of my children make fifth in our family.

Australian Bush Flower Essences travel the country sourcing a diverse range of beautiful native
Australian flowers to use their essence in their products. I cannot stress enough how beautiful their
products feel on the skin, their are all so gentle and soothing, each with their own specific benefits,
their wide range means you are sure to find something that will work for you. See the full range here.
There is even a samplers pack if you just want to try out a few things first. :)

The latest I have been trying out has come at such a good time as I have gone far too long without
exfoliating my face and body, and I love the feeling of removing all those dead skin cells which build
up daily! I religiously cleanse and moisturising my whole body twice daily, however before using this
I knew it was time to start investing some of my time to scrubbing as my skin was beginning to feel
rough, a bit bumpy and just feeling a little bit blah.

This is a creamy formulation with deep red grains of natural bush flowers contains a mix of
Angelsword, Bauhinia, Billy Goat Plum, Bottlebrush, Five Corners, Flannel Flower & Fringed Violet.

This multi use product also moisturises your skin which is such an important factor after
exfoliation! Can also be left on longer as a mask
for a deep cleanse.  Win win win!

Both the tube & box can be recycled and are available to purchase directly from the ABFE
website here for $22.95.

Also available at Planet Health in NSW and
a few select Practitioners nation wide.

How often do you conduct a full body exfoliation?

MNY ELIXIR

~ MAYBELLINE NEW YORK~

The Elixir Lip Glosses!

Today I feel like talking about one of my favourite obsessions - lip colours!
These ones by Maybelline have been on the market for a while but they're still one of my
favs in terms of packaging, formula and shades.

If you'd like to see some makeup looks with me using some colour Elixir's
then be sure to watch the video below! :)
You can also find more info on all of the products mentioned in this video over on
M:Edition here!

These Elixir lip glosses come in 12 yummy shades.
I have these four below which I am going to now
share with you in more detail.

Blush Essence
#095
Now if you're not into bold lipstick you might initially skip right by this shade as it appears much
darker and pigmented in the tube than it actually applies on the lips.
This is one of my all time favourite lipstick shades for everyday wear as it barely appears to show
that you're even wearing a lipstick. The shade is so natural. It just gives a bit of life to your nude
lips by adding a touch of pink colour to them. Blushing them as the name suggests is an accuarte
way of describing it. These Elixir glosses do have a mild odd scent to them. I don't mind it though.
It's definitely not floral or a yummy smell, it is very unique. I cannot think of anything I could
compare it to to try to explain it. I suggest just having a whiff of a tester before purchasing just to
be sure it doesn't put you off. Also, I wouldn't recommend licking your lips whilst wearing these.
They do have a slight flavour to them which isn't all that nice.
I mean, they're not food, they're designed to look amazing (which they do!) not taste amazing!
Just sayin'!

Petal Plush
#100
This shade is similar to Blush Essence, however the tint is slightly lighter.
It reminds me of pale pink fairy floss. It is so light and pretty with a touch of shimmer and shine.
This is also an ideal shade for your casual everyday look as it looks so natural and pretty by
enhancing your lips natural shape and colour. I like to quickly pop a bit of this on my lips
on days when I've just chucked on a pair of demin shorts and a casual top and I'm heading out
to grab a few groceries or visit my sister. I feel like this would make a good first lip product
for anyone just starting out with makeup or are still quite young and don't want to over do it.

Signature Scarlet
#020
This Elixir shade is probably out of these four that I own the only one which actually
appears as vibrant in terms of it's shade on your lips as it does from just looking at the tube.
It definitely has that 'Signature' classic vibe about it being as it is classicaly red.
What I love about this particular shade though, is you can just apply a touch of it to your cupid's
bow and then smudge it out a little for a just bittin tint. Or you can totally build it up for an
all over bombshell, seductive look.

Caramel Infused
#065
This is a sneaky one as the name Caramel Infused has be thinking this shade must be some
kind of brown colour. However, even though it appears that dark, brownish, caramel tint
from the outside. Once applied it actually just lightly tints your lips into a shiny, medium
dark rosey pink! Actually, it is quite close to my natural lip colour. This shade doesn't contain
the tiny shimmer particals that both Blush Essense and Petal Plush have. The formula is very
smooth (Not that the others with the shimmer are gritty at all, they're not!) and the unique shaped
applicator makes it easy to apply as it glides from side to side along your lips.

Have you tried these Elixir's?
What is your favourite Maybelline product?

ST.TROPEZ

Glowing Summer Skin

With St.Tropez!

Bronzing Mousse
RRP: $19.95 (50ml)
My little 50ml travel size can is perfect for someone like me who doesn't tan year round,
but likes to give it a go every now and again, especially if I'm going out somewhere like the
pool or the beach and don't want to look too much like I live in an igloo!

This Bronzing Mousse comes complete with a pump nozzle which dispenses out around about
a fifty cent size amount of dark brown foam onto your skin. It is recommended to apply this with
a tanning mitt, which I do have, but was too lazy to find, so on this occasion I just used my hands
and well, let's just say now I know why you should wear a tanning mitt because this stuff likes to
turn your hands a toasty shade of black!

Not that I particularly care. I just gave my hands a good wash and scrub and now my hands
are almost back to their original pasty white colour. Besides that, when it comes to the application
and overall finished effect this tanning mousse gives, I rate it rather high! I just rubbed it into my
skin in the recommended circular motion and it blended right in and after a few coats gave me a
gorgeous looking, natural bronze glow as shown in the pic below. :)

Body Polish
RRP: $19.95 (200ml)
My smooth, even, streak free glow wouldn't have been quite as perfect looking if it weren't for
my trusty new Summer companion! The St.Tropez Body Polish preps your skin for tanning
by gently exfoliating the skin with tiny little white circular beads which do not scratch your
skin resulting in a nice, even, fresh surface for the tan to stick to so it appears nice and smooth.

In addition this also helps to maintain and prolong your tan by evenly scrubbing it off your
skin every few days. So if you're wanting to build up your tan gradually over a few days or weeks
you can still do that and still have a nice, even surface to apply to each time by using this 24
hours before each tan application. You can even use this on your face to scrub away any dead
skin cells if you like to also tan your face. Just mix a little into a gentle cleanser and use together!

Tip!
Don't forget to moisturise afterwards! This will keep your tan looking fresh and flawless!
Concentrate a little more on the dryer areas of your skin. Knees, elbows, hands and feet
are popular areas for concern. For me, its my back where I tend to get the most dead skin
build up as it's the hardest place to reach when scrubbing!

Is slightly fragranced with a light perfumed scent.

Bonus!
Paraben & Cruelty Free!

QUIFF COMB

~   S  C  U  N  C  I   ~

Quiff Comb

Hair Style!

I'll admit, this is not a hair trend I have ever been a big fan of nor ever even tried.
But when something a little different lands in front of you, you just gotta give it a go, you only
live once and life is too short for the same old boring hair everyday, so I gave the Quiff Comb
a chance and here is the result. (See pic below!)

Using this hair tool and creating this hair style was actually a whole lot easier and quicker than
I had thought it was going to be! All I did was take a few inches of hair from the top section
as if I were to create a half up half down style and simply placed the Quiff Comb underneath and secured the hair with a
Scunci hair elastic into a messy little knot instead of pinning back with the bobby pins supplied.

Upon inspection of the result as I looked into the mirror I was quite surprised at how much I
actually really loved the finished look! It didn't look as weird as I'd first thought it might and since it was so quick and easy to use as you
save so much time and damage by not having to tease any part of your hair, this would
be a great hair accessory to turn to when I want or need to create something in a hurry
but don't want to look boring!

This is such a versatile hair tool, you could get really creative and make lots of different hair styles!
I have seen just about every single celebrity try this look at some time or another for some extra
volume and height and it so so comfortable to wear as it is so light so there is no 'top heavy' feeling.

Available in both brunette & blonde varieties!
RRP: $9.95

REAL TECHNIQUES BRUSHES

~     R  E  A  L      T  E  C  H  N  I  Q  U  E  S    ~

Mini   Brush   Set   Trio   !

Yes, I have been living under a rock and this is the first time I have ever bought
myself some Real Techniques makeup brushes!

Recently iherb.com had a mega good sale which included these oh so popular brushes
(and now I know why, the quality it amazing!) and with postage only $4.14, this haul basically
only cost me my spare change of $3.44 after all the discounts I took advantage of!
They ship via Australia Post and it only took a few days to arrive.
They promptly sent me an email with all the tracking info only a few hours later!
So top points for communication and service!

Mini Brush Trio Includes:
 x1 Mini Foundation Brush
x1 Mini Face Brush
x1 Mini Shading Brush
(Ah, I just love the colour shiny tin colour of the handles!)

The rumours are true! These brushes are so incredibly soft and every single one of those shiny,
smooth little hairs aren't going anywhere! I can't stand makeup brushes where the scratchy, harsh
fibres fall out all over your face and land in your eyes and go up your nose!
No thank you! >_<

Even though I only purchased the mini brush set, I highly recommend purchasing it if you
have never tried these brushes before because they're a great way to start off your collection.
They work perfectly and are so easy to use. Plus they are the perfect travel size! ^-^

So if you are thinking of making an order for some new brushes or anything from iherb.com
for that matter be sure to enter my rewards code CJK569 at the checkout to receive $5-$10
off your very first order!

Do you use Real Techniques makeup brushes?
Do you have others you recommend?
