PLATINUM MAKEUP BRUSHES

INTRODUCING...

NEW!

- PLATINUM MAKEUP BRUSHES -

http://www.platinumbeauty.com.au

So you probably own at least one set of makeup brushes. You have your favourites, you know those
3 or 4 you reach for every single time you put on your makeup? How great are the quality of your
brushes though? Could be better? Softer? Less hairs falling out of them? I know personally for me
that stray hair which falls out of my blush brush every! single! day! I could definitely live without!

Using a fresh, clean, brand new makeup brush is always a nice feeling and if you're after that kind of
satisfaction in your daily makeup routine at the moment, then let me temp you with these modern,
gun metal grey, shiny new, sooooft good quality brushes, available ever so conveniently as you do
you grocery shop at where else but your local Woolies!

There are 5 of these beauties in the Platinum collection and each with it's own essential role to play.
Let me run you through each of the 4 which I have been using in my collection over the past few
months.

Contour Eye Brush
This tapered brush is perfect for creating definition and shadows to your eye's crease. Blend your
shadow into this area and blend with these super smooth, soft hairs. Within a few strokes I have
found my shadow to blend effortlessly, even when I use my cheaper branded makeup!
RRP $10.00

Eye Shadow Brush
Aside from the Blush Brush (which I will talk about soon!) this Eye Shadow Brush is my most used
brush! If your budget is tight, then you could probably get away with skipping on the Contour Eye
Brush and just using this one to complete your all over eye look. I still prefer to use both of these for
creating a more defined eye and precise definition, however this brush with a little practice can do it
all.

The hairs on this brush are slightly shorter and the shape is more rounded. This makes it easy to pack
on your desired shadow shade all over the base of your lid. Then using your Contour Eye Brush (or
this one if you brush off the excess shadow shade before changing colours for contouring) blending in
your usual slightly darker shade into the crease and then highlighting along the brow bone, inner
corner of the eye and where ever else you feel helps you eyes to really pop and look larger and more
awake. RRP $10.00

Base Blending Brush
We all have our own preference when it comes to how we choose to apply foundation. For years I
just found it so much quicker and easier to just use my (clean!) fingers. This method works amazingly
well because there is no chance of leaving behind brush strokes and everything is blended and spread
out well and evenly from the warmth in my fingers. I do still use this method on occasion, however
since discovering the magic of the trusty makeup sponge, I pretty much apply my liquid this way.

So how does this Base Blending Brush come into it? Well generally I will use this brush with my
loose powder to set my liquid foundation as it seems to blend the powder out all over my face instead
of it just sitting where it lands so to speak. However this brush is also designed to use with liquid
foundation to blend everything out nice and smoothly and gives quite a flawless finish in the few
times I have given this method a try. RRP $15.00

Blush Brush
This brush is super light and nicely fluffy and just perfect for applying blush! The hairs on this brush
seem to just pick up the right amount of product to apply to the apples of my cheeks which I then
sweet slightly upwards towards my cheekbones. Then naturally following up with a little bit of
highlight. Everyone loves highlight right now! Including me, obvs! RRP $19.00

- - -

The 5th brush in this collection which I haven't yet had the chance to try is the Platinum Power
Brush. As the name suggests, this is to use to apply your powder foundation, setting powder and
banana powder, etc! RRP $20.00

Platinum Makeup Brushes are available exclusively at selected Woolworths stores Australia wide.

How do you apply foundation? Brush, sponge, fingers or another method?

OPI WASHINGTON

O P I

Kerry Washington DC
Mini Collection

Fall/Winter 2016

I am a huge fan of OPI and their little mini packs! They are so cute and great to get a feel for the new
shades they release and figure out weather it's worth purchasing one full size. This mini pack is a set
of four shades. Every now and then you will find OPI releases their mini collections in a range from
four, six or even ten different shades.

The four shades in this pack are called...
'We The Female' - A blood cherry red. Sexy and powerful. This shade is my favourite!
'Pale To The Chief' - A barely there nude cream. Solid in colour, perfect for a classy occasion.
'CIA = Color Is Awesome' - Bold, daring and mysterious! Love this rebel shade!
'Never A Dulles Moment - Even bolder and more daring! Wear this shade to stand out in a crowd!

I love the red and pale pink shades and find myself reaching for these two shades the most!

There are a total of 15 shades you can find from this collection in their full size 15ml bottles.
The four shades mentioned above plus these ones below.

Stay Off The Lawn
Suzi - The First Lady Of Nails

Freedom Of Peach
Squeaker Of The House
Shh... It's Top Secret!
Madam President
OPI By Popular Vote

VIVID MATTE

MAYBELLINE!

VIVID MATTE LIQUID LIPSTICKS

SWATCHES & REVIEW!

My lipstick collection is by far the largest of all my makeup products. From satin and gloss,
sheer and matte in both solid and liquid formation. I love them all dearly. Lippie addiction is
very real and I am not ashamed to admit I have kind of a problem. I love to have all of the shades
available in each collection I own. The latest being these gorgeous matte beauties from Maybelline.

From their perfectly solid, stackable rectangular shapes, creamy smooth formula and strikingly
bold and confident shades, these have even gotten me questioning my previous hesitation towards
nude shades which I previously thought washed me out. Somehow Maybelline have got the balance
just right for my skin tone and the nudes from this collection actually work for me! I can hardly
believe myself!

Shades include - (Top to Bottom)
Posessed Plum / Berry Boost / Fuchsia Ecstasy / Rebel Red / Orange Shot / Electric Pink / Nude
Flush / Nude Thrill

In terms of longevity these are pretty tough and last a few hours before waring away. The matte
looks non drying and bold in pigment.

See how the swatches look in real life!

These and all other Maybelline products can be found in your local Priceline, K-Mart, Coles, Big W,
Myer, Woolies, Terry White, Price Attack, Chemist Warehouse & National Pharmacy as well as online.

Some of my other most recent Maybelline product loves included below!

NUDE LIPSTICKS

~ RIMMEL LONDON ~

NUDE

KATE MOSS LIPSTICK COLLECTION

http://au.rimmellondon.com
Left to right! - 40, 42, 43, 45, 48 (Shop!)

Honestly, nude lipsticks have never been my thing. I am just naturally drawn to bright and vibrant
colours, however now that I am getting older and my style is going through a major change (E.g My
home decor has gone from pink everything to neutral tones of black, white, grey & silver) I have
come to realise that wearing brights when it comes to lipstick all of the time probably isn't always
appropriate.

I am delighted to have had the opportunity to try out this range by a makeup brand I know well and
love as I probably wouldn't have gone out and purchased these myself. However now that I have had
a good play around with these I am completely addicted to them and love the natural statement look
they give. Plus the range of shades are perfect for every occasion and there really is something for
everyone.

The shades are designed to suit fair, medium & dark skin tones. Let me explain a little of each one.

Swatches! :)

Shade #40
This is the lightest shade and designed to suit fair skin tones. Having naturally light skin myself
although not fair I have found this shade to suit me quite well. It doesn't look too light or make me
appear washed out which I did fear at first.

Shade #42
This shade along with #43 & #45 are suited to medium skin tones which I feel like is more where I fit into and what would be most popular as it is in the middle. This colour is much more pink
toned than the nude #40 which is almost skin colour which could almost match a very light
foundation shade. Out of all, this is my favourite pick of the bunch.

Shade #43
Also suited to medium skin tones this more browner toned lipstick I feel like is great for contoured,
bronzy looks win a slight tan kiss to the skin. I feel like this shade really suits my dark brown hair's
roots I have going on at the moment! Reminds me of Kylie Jenner's lips for some reason!

Shade #45
The third shade for the medium toned skin type is my other favourite. This with it's pink with
purple under tones is completely my style. I love how subtle this is from my usual shocking hot pink
I usually reach for. It is just enough to make me look put together and grown up to go about my day
do day life. This shade is really gorgeous!

Shade #48
This last shade for dark skin tones is really dark when it comes to lipsticks and I never wear this
colour as it's a little too extreme for me. However I can see myself wearing this for one of my
Youtube videos as I like to keep my looks different and interesting for each one so this would be a
fun one to wear in an upcoming one just to see how it looks on camera. Who knows, it is kinda
growing on me and again reminds me of another member of the Kardashian/Jenner clan, this time
Khloe! (I hardly ever watch the show btw, how many do they have now anyway? Yet somehow I
know all the lip colours they wear...?) #makeupgeek This is a lovely chocolate brown with deep red
under tones. For the bold & beautiful ones!

Rimmel London Moisture Renew Transparent Lip Liner #001 (Shop!)
Here is a new and innovative product which I have had an interesting time playing with and
trying to figure out! This product is completely new to me, I have never before seen another
transparent lip liner. Am I the only one? It can be used to line your lips when you wear any
lipstick shade which I think is a great idea so you're not having to search around for the perfect
match! It helps keep lipstick from bleeding around the lips and onto the skin, contains shea butter
for added moisture unlike a lot of lip liners I have used in the past which can be quite drying.
Lasts up the seven hours! RRP $12.50

How often do you go nude? ;)

SIX SHADES OF OPI

O.P.I

Proudly Presents...

(x6 Mini Pack!)

(Left to right!)
Cement The Deal, Shine For Me, Romantically Involved, Embrace The Grey, Dark Side Of The
Mood & My Silk Tie.

CEMENT THE DEAL
This light grey is such a gorgeous, simple, neutral shade which adds I think a modern twist to the
'nude' mani. It almost has a similar colour to that of an ash toned mud mask. I am really loving it and
getting into these more natural fuss free polishes more and more lately!

SHINE FOR ME
I have always been and always will be a lover of glitter nail polish. It doesn't matter the colour or
texture of the sparkles, if it shines, I'm a fan! Here I have applied two coats to show better clarity of
it's structure. With a mix of blue and silver, together this sheer design would look flawless this Winter
over another seasonal shade such as one of the greys in this collection or even a deep berry or black.

ROMANTICALLY INVOLVED
An essential in any woman's collection. A classic ruby red is a must year round. I am obsessed with
this timeless hue. It needs no further explanation, it is just perfection in a lil bottle!

EMBRACE THE GREY
Slightly darker than the 'My Silk Tie' although very similar. This is another great shade to embrace
this sweater weather time of the year. I have been sporting this lover both casually in my everyday
jeans and a plain tee as well as when I have dressed up to out. This polish hue works both ways
effortlessly!

DARK SIDE OF THE MOOD
Easily mistaken for black, this deep dark grey is a lovely bold opaque lacquer with the tiniest hint of
silver shine amongst it. A very suitable Autumn/Winter hue also appropriate for rock stars and rebels. ;)

MY SILK TIE
Not the first polish I have owned like this. I have several actually from numerous brands, however
I am so glad to add one from OPI to my collection as the quality is far supreme and the drying time
is much better than most. I adore silver polishes and this one is nice and shiny and definitely my style!

This OPI Mini's Set can be purchased from many leading Australian retails including David Jones
for a current RRP: $24.95

APOCOLIPS

~ Rimmel London ~

Apocolips!

These lip lacquers have been around for a while now and have remained
a firm favourite in my collection so it makes sense to me to want to blog
about them!

As a member of Beautyheaven's video trial team, last year I was given the
opportunity to try out the whole range and create a video review which
I'd love for you to check out at the end of this post! ;)

The vast range of shades available is I have to say, perfect!
Seriously, there is a shade for every occasion and one to suit just about
everyone! They are super glossy, yet are as pigmented as they come &
just as vital when it comes to the perfect lipstick, they stay on your lips!

I love them all, but to break it down, here are the shades in my order of preference!

Apocalyptic
Nova
Stellar
Stargazer
Celestial
Solstice
Nude Eclipse
Phenomenon

Nail Polish

~ Nail Polish Collection & Storage ~

A little while ago I shared a picture on my facebook page of a nail
polish storage rack I was waiting to receive from eBay.

Well, fast forward a month later and it finally arrived yesterday,
all the way from China! :)

I absolutely LOVE it, although it sadly doesn't hold all of my collection.
I have been watching a huge acrylic one for around the same price
on eBay from an Australian seller for a while so I might just have
to save up again and snag it so my collection can be displayed
and stored out and up on the wall where I can see it all the time.
It makes me happy to see the rainbow of shades each day! :)

The rest of my polishes are still stored in my makeup draws
which if you're interested, you can have a snoop either in
my makeup collection video or makeup storage post linked
at the end of this post. :)

I am happy with my current lipstick storage setup,
so I decided to use this small acrylic lipstick holder to house
my smaller bottles.

As you can see, everything is currently sitting pretty
on black glitter... that is the glitter from one of my weekend hauls.
It is not quite finished yet, but it's so far looking amazing and I
can't wait to share with you my little home decor DIY once
it all completed and eventually do a room tour. :)

My OPI Nail Polish Collection!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Overview!

Today I have decided to share my make up collection.  Not because I think I have a dazzling collection worthy of showing off, but mainly because I think it is a topic that is very popular and widely enjoyed by beauty fanatics and like minded folk. I know I love to read and watch people's collections and storage ideas on blogs, websites and youtube videos, so I thought I would share mine for sheer inspiration for your own collection and storage to gather ideas and tips along the way. :)

For the longest time I just had my make up stashed amongst all my other bathroom products, in draws and cupboards, and it was almost always impossible to find what ever it was I was looking for. I finally got my hands on one of these storage draws I had seem many other beauty gurus have to store their make up items and thought it would be the perfect way to store my stuff as well. This is available from Office works for around $50 and is available in the clear,  like mine, an ombre Grey and the famous rainbow shades.

Congratulations you finally made it to the end of my collection. Not a lot of high end stuff as I've only recently begun to indulge in them so I am slowly replacing the old with some new quality products. I still love my drugstore brands though too! :)

If you'd like to watch a video of my makeup collection you can find it here. If has changed a bit compared to these photos as my 2 year old daughter often gets into and rearranges my draws for me.... so to speak! ;)

I am still waiting on my Naked 1, 2 & 3 Palettes coming from the US that hubby was so kind to get me for my birthday. I am itching to try them and do some video & blog posts using them. So keep an eye out as they will hopefully be coming soon!
